We were warned ahead of time about the traffic this venue creates with its obscure location and limited entry/exit points, but nothing can quite prepare you for it until you've experienced it first hand. Lots of food and drink stands everywhere. Everything's pricey but that's to be expected. Some lines moved faster than others. There is absolutely no cell service once you hit the standstill traffic. DOWNLOAD YOUR TICKETS AHEAD OF TIME to your Apple wallet. I left mine in the app that I purchased them through and could not pull them up due to 0 cell service. Since everyone's phones were in SOS mode we had no idea that the weather was looking rough. At 8, when the opener was supposed to come on, we were informed that severe weather was approaching and everyone with lawn seats needed to evacuate to their cars. We had actual seats so we stayed where we were. About 45 min later they gave another evacuation warning to the lawn seaters and we decided to leave the venue altogether. We didn't know how bad the weather would get (and no way to check with no cell service) and didn't want to stick around to find out.Thank god we left when we did. The comments I've read from others who waited around are unbelievable. I wont rehash all that's already been said but I would think twice before you buy tickets to a show here. The Midwest has unpredictable weather and this venue is not equipped to handle it. I hope Alpine Valley really takes time to see how their lack of communication and lack of resources impacted so many people that night.I don't care if my show gets rescheduled, I would rather sell my tickets than return to Alpine Valley Music Theater

Went to see Noah Kahan last night. We got there wayy early so parking wasn't terrible like the rest of the reviews are saying, however, I can definitely see how it would get terrible. The staff had no idea what they were doing & walking around aimlessly, often times getting upset with the people driving. We sat outside in 92° temperature from 3:30-6:30, until we could sit in the lawn. We paid $6 for a water. We stood in a very crowded area before they opened the gates to the lawn. We sat from 6:30-8, when the opener was supposed to come on. At 8:05, someone comes up & says "due to severe weather you need to be back in your cars", our cars were at least 10-15 minutes away, & there's also 37,000 people at this concert. They didn't even tell us what the weather was (tornado? rain? high wind? Storm?). We had absolutely no service so nobody could check the radar, so of course, nobody gets up to leave. There is not a cloud in the sky & nobody is updating us on anything. About 45 minutes later, they say that there will be a storm & high winds so we need to get to our cars. (That WHOLE time someone could've been performing while there was NO severe weather). Eventually we make it back to our cars, we still have no service so we have no idea what is going on. It finally starts raining & thunderstorming at 9 (when Noah was supposed to come on). Around 10:30 it lets up, but we still have no idea if the show is canceled or not, we received no updates from the venue. People are trying to leave but they can't get out because Alpine "couldn't let their staff out to direct us in the storm", but now I'm reading other reviews that they don't do that anyway. We slept in our car until 11:45, and finally at midnight we were let out, with a post saying the show was "postponed", but with no date or time to when it is postponed to. We drove 4 hours for this concert & sat outside for 6, then sat in our cars for 4 hours again. It was an absolute nightmare. We had no warning that this weather was coming & nobody was able to check themselves because there's no service. We will not be back. Communication is horrible, way over priced, and way too crowded.

I've been to many concerts over the years, including numerous ones at outside venues, and I've never experienced this extreme level of greed.. General admission tickets are three times the typical price for a similar event and the concession prices are outrageous. Price gouging is expected to a certain extent, but I refused to buy anyting at this location out of sheer principle. $15 for a beer is insulting. To make matters worse, everywhere smells like cow pies.On a positive note, and the only reason this place didn't receive one star: the employees were extremely friendly, it was safe and clean, traffic was organized and quick, the grass that makes up the Amphitheater seating is immaculately maintained (if this place became muddy it would be a nightmare).

Stay away! Attended Dead and Company and witnessed undercover police sneaking up on folks in the parking lot. Once inside the venue on the lawn to the right of the tapers prior to the show, we observed 2 security officers, wearing orange shirts stopping and talking to a fan that was sitting and waiting for the show to start. The security officer insisted on searching his clear plastic bag that plainly had nothing in it. The security officer when questioned told him he saw money exchange. It was a blatant lie and there was another orange shirt security officer that was standing as lookout. There are several tactics like that being used at this venue stay away! You'll either be arrested or shaken down. The townies and local police do not want rock and roll fans. Let's give them what they want and stay away from Alpine Valley music theater!

Their motto should be "Alpine Valley- come stand in line!" Everything was a long line. Over an hour to get in, 1/2 hour for food (only 5 people in front of us), 1/2 hour for disgusting full port-a-potty. Not to mention it's a crazy steep hill and once the sun goes down you can't see anything! I won't be going back.

We saw Jimmy Buffett here 7/22/2015. It was really fun but people have to know their limit. I understand the desire to have fun but does each person need 10 beers? And at $13 each, that's ridiculous! I saw at least ten people fall down that hill. Glad I chose water that night! He did a great job, I'm not a big fan of Hughy Lewis (spelling?) and Jimmy Buffett did not play "Boat Drinks", which is what I came for but he played a few of my other favorites- Cheeseburger in Paradise, a bit of Pencil Thin Mustache and Brown Eyed Girl.If you are using a navigation system to get there, it's probably wrong! Get off where the sign says to!

so many bad things to say about this place:1: they probably sold 2x the amount of lawn tickets than people that can fit on the lawn. I arrived 2.5 hours before the concert started and got one of the last spots on the lawn where I would be able to see the stage at all. There were WAY too many people there for that size venue and not 1 piece of lawn wasn't taken. In addition the entire lawn is on a crazy slant so just getting to a spot is difficult enough even without it being completely covered by fans trying to claim their spot as well. Before the concert even start I saw huge groups of people asking if they could purchase VIP upgrades bc they could not physically find a spot to sit on the lawn. 2: cell service is non-existent. make sure to download any mobile tickets you have because they won't load once you get to the venue. also make sure to update any family/friends as needed before getting within 20 minutes of the venue because after that you won't be able to send messages.3: getting into the venue there is one road leading in and out. I was going to a concert that was sold out so im not sure if it was worse than normal but after waiting 30 minutes on the one road going into the venue you drive onto a grass field that counts as their parking lot. 4: my concert ended up being postponned for bad weather. they told us at the time the concert was supposed to start that we all needed to shelter in our cars and listen to the radio for updates. they then provided no more communication for 2 HOURS. i ended up leaving right when we were told to shelter in our cars but i was checking for updates from the venue and NOTHING! they eventually told us the concert was postponed but not even over the radio- over instagram (but none of us even had service to check instagram). leaving was also a nightmare as i heard people had to wait for HOURS to get out of the parking lot due to the lack of coordination and communication between staff at the venue. TLDR: overall this venue was severely unequipped to handle the volume of tickets they sold for this concert and i really hope we get a refund because i would prefer not to have to come back to this horribly run venue to see one of my favorite artists.

Absolutely horrible. The most chaotic and poorly run venue I've been to. Not one staff member knew where anything was and parking was an absolute nightmare. The lines for drinks were over 25 people long and moved slow. Post Malone was amazing as always but hopefully he doesn't come back to this venue.

The lawn seats were too crowded and the venue doesn't allow people to bring their own lawn chairs. They also had signs banning blankets, but many people brought in blankets somehow. Their website doesn't come up in the top results for Google, so it is difficult to find information about rule changes like the ban on lawn chairs. Disorganized.

Horrible parking and traffic infrastructure. Took 2.5 hours to get out because no one was directing the exiting of traffic. Also, many people could not find their cars because there is absolutely no parking markers of any kind. If you value your sanity, stay far, far away. Will never visit again. Fool me once...
