640 Meats

I occasionally go to 640 for a sandwich and end up buying a few other items as well. The guy with the beard really takes pride in running the place. He's walked over and offered me samples of various meats that were fresh off the grill while I'm eating my lunch. I've also seen him give children rice crispy treats as a kind gesture while their parents are finishing their food.I really enjoy their 640 Sub and it's definitely a large sandwich full of good quality meats. The service is what has impressed me the most though. Great to see someone that takes so much pride in what he does.

This place is a very unassuming from the outside but once you step in it's amazing array of meat, cheese, and friendly faces. I was in town for a week and came twice. The first time I had the Reuben and today I had a BLT. Both were spectacular. The fried mushrooms are also perfectly breaded.

Since covid has keep businesses closed or people inside, people may not know of policy changes, especially senior citizens, like my Mom. We have been 320 and 640 customers a very long time, so imagine my Mom's surprise when they had a sign at the register stating "no personal checks". My Mom always uses checks, too scary to carry cash, and one man working there just barked at my Mom that they haven't taken checks since 12/2019...heard of self quarantine? If you make us wear a mask, then you know some people have not been out of the house since 1/2020! Not our problem that you have some dirtbag customers that write bad checks...sorry you got stiffed, but we didn't write a bad check to you...NEVER HAVE! So, too bad you treat customers like this...lost a life long customer.

I was on a hunt for a good corned beef sandwich in Rockford. Multiple people suggested this place.Any time I visit a new local place, I always ask what is the one item I shouldnt leave without trying. They told me the brisket and the burger, neither of which I was in the mood for. They smoke the brisket in house and the burgers are homemade. Maybe another day.They didnt have a Chicago style corned beef sandwich, but they did have a Reuben, which was solid, but not exceptional. Factoring in that it was only $5, it was exceptional. If I get it again, I'll probably ask for double meat.I'll give them another try when I'm on a less specific mission.

Probably my favorite food place anywhere. Super good food and for great value. I come here a lot with my friends and we're always treated great. I recommend 640 over any other place especially if you want sandwiches.

This place is amazing. Meat cut to order. Seafood. Fresh homemade salads and breads. I got the 640 sub and could hardly finish it great prices too.

This place is a hidden gem! Burgers and sandwiches are all freshly made-to-order and cheaper than any fast food joint you could go to. Easily one of the best burgers in town, and the sandwiches are stacked high with meat and toppings that would put Subway to shame. They also carry freshly packed sides like potato salad and baked beans in a cooler. The last lunch I purchased here came out to $5.48, including tax!! Don't go to a burger joint or sub shop, stop here instead!

640 is a one in a million. Pete is terrific and is a great place to grab a quick lunch or bring home something to grill of one of 640's prepared dinners. In the area stop and check it out

I'm not sure I would call myself a regular but I do buy sandwiches there multiple times a month. I know it was late but on Superbowl morning I walked in and asked if I could get a meat/cheese tray for a party later that day. I was told no but could get one on Monday if I wanted. Yeah right. I called Countryside Meats from 640 parking lot and they easily accommodated me. I would have to think long and hard about ever spending another dollar there

I went in yesterday to buy a variety of steaks. Ty assisted me and was exceptionally helpful and pleasant. The steaks were also reasonably priced considering the market and were delicious! Overall I'm very happy with this establishment!
