Can't say enough good about this place had a steak. The steak was amazing cooked perfectly to order. I will definitely be back. Other people have told me about this place and after 20 years of living here, I found it. Must stop here when in Milwaukee. Service was superb.

What's not to like about his place other than people complaining about no menu with pricing - I get it but if you did some simple Yelp! Research you would know what to expectService is good, food is excellent and I love the deli case concept!!I visit every time I go to Milwaukee!!

On my top ten list of bar/restaurants. If you're expecting bar food, you'll be disappointed. It's really, really good. I mean really good. The service was impeccable and the vibe was everything you want in a neighborhood bar. If you haven't been, you should go.

This is a must-visit restaurant for anyone looking for a great atmosphere, engaging staff, and delicious food. CJ ensures your appetites and preferences are understood and delivered. Our son lives here solo while we reside in Maryland, and we know he is in great hands with a family-friendly and enjoyable venue. I can't say it enough--it's a must-visit venue!!!!!!

I went here a long time ago. When I say a long time ago, I'm talking 25 years. My wife at the time, and I, were with another couple and we got a round of tap beers. It cost us $20. We were in such sticker shock, there is no way we were going to eat there. So, flash forward to today. Here we are with more money in my pocket and the curiosity is just killing me! I sit down and the bartender informs me of the no pricing policy. I'm just gonna come out and say straightforward, I'm not a fan of that, but, with a pocket full of money, I'm gonna let her rip. I ordered a burger, medium-rare, with bacon, cheddar cheese, and fries. Being a connoisseur of the area, I can tell that the bun is from Grebe's bakery. The meat was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The bacon was very smoky and a nice complement. The fries were thin, yet hand cut. They were fried crisp and sprinkled with parmesan. The whole thing cost me about 25 bucks, and that was with a beer. That's not too bad. I would give it a shot, if you were ever curious, and order something simple like I did. Compliments to the chef. Well done.

Love love love this place, mainly Angie. The drinks are strong, the food is delicious, the service from Angie was 2nd to none. She is an amazing ambassador for your restaurant/bar. I highly recommend the jalapeno poppers and the bacon brussels. I, more highly, recommend Angie. She is a joy to be around and really wonderful at her job. She made great suggestions and gave awesome service.

This is a really interesting place. The old school sports bar vibe is undeniable. The room and decor scream dive bar, but the ingredients on offer yell fine dining. The idea of a menu for 4th Base is kind of an illusion. They have a specials board and there are dishes listed on their web site, but it's really a make your own meal place. You pick your ingredients and they cook it, I'm sure within reason. The staff are friendly and the service is good. We were lucky enough to have the place mostly to ourselves at 11 on a Saturday for brunch.Good Bloody Marys with full size "chaser."Dad's hamburger was good and served with a massive pile of onion straws. BF had a hash made with crab and he loved it. Portions were generous.Mom tried a bacon wrapped shrimp and quite enjoyed it, although at $8 a pop it could be a pricey side. We both tried a crabmeat eggs Benedict which were very good. My breakfast potatoes were crunchy and home style - excellent. This place will surprise you.

***If you want to enjoy your experience, ask the Food Prices UP FRONT !!!***So I'm totally conflicted about my visit here. My girlfriend and I were in town for the Green Day concert at the ballpark. Being a HUGE "Major League" Fan, I had to visit the bar, where it was shot!! We rushed over to ensure we'd have time to eat there, before going over to the stadium. From what I can gather, this is an "authentic" Milwaukee experience. It's a little Mom and Pop kind of hole in the wall joint, which suits me just fine. We settled in and took in the atmosphere.Service was friendly and we were having a good time. We ordered food and were just sort of confused by the "process" of trying to eat there. Other than being told "everything is a la carte," not much direction was given. So from where we were sitting, I could see that "Thai Shrimp" and "Walleye" were two options...so we went with that. Shortly after ordering, we saw some Scallops get delivered to a table across from us and asked to add some. The Server asked how many and I said, "Ummm, six?" Again, knowing that we were first timers, she could have explained, "Ok, they're $8 a piece." But much like when ordering the Shrimp, no guidance was given :/The food arrived and it was very good. Zero issues with any of that. The Server checked back and made sure we were good. I had a nice conversation with either the Manager or Owner, about Major League. So all in all, we were happy about scrambling to make sure we visited 4th Base, prior to our concert. Then the bill came. WHAMMO !! 2 Iced Teas, the Walleye Dinner with Fires, 12 Thai Glazed Shrimp and 6 Scallops...$188. Again, the food was very good. My issue was that our Server knew we'd never been here before. She could see we weren't really sure what to do. A little "heads up" as to what they were charging, would've been nice. If "No Menu" is your policy, fine. But how about writing the prices on the board (where you list some of the meals) so that the patrons have some type of clue. Shame on us, I guess, for not reading all the Yelp reviews prior to stopping in. I was just so excited to check this place out. But also shame on them for not having the waitstaff disclose a little bit about what we should be expecting. It's one thing to go out for a night, planning to drop $225 on Dinner. It's another thing to have one of those bills sneak up on you. (Especially when ZERO Drinks were involved.) :(We had fun and ate well there. Just wish I felt better about leaving there.-CB

To whom it may concern. 1st I would like to say Erin the waitress/bartender was AMAZING! (I tipped her $10.00 on a take-out tab) Her customer service was top tier. I'm a Veteran who works at the Milwaukee VA! My work crew and I love 4th base and order often, so it pains me to make this food review. I would like to share pictures and video with 4th base management or the owner to show how HORRIBLE my food experience was on 7/27/24. I can say this HORRIBLE experience was a 1st and in no way is my intention to stop people from trying 4th base, or discredit them so I would like to speak with 4th base management in person to ensure no future disappointment from future customer. Please respond at your earliest convenience to discuss this further. N. Davis [email protected]
