While in town for a quick trip, we had already checked out of our hotel, but didn't need to be to the airport for a few hours - so of course we decided to find a new brewery to hit! This is such a hidden little gem and seems like a fun, casual place to hang out. I tried two of their sours and enjoyed both - plus the woman working was so great at describing them to us and allowing us to sample before committing. While they don't do flights, I love that you can get a half order, allowing you to try more of their options!

So hard to find places with great stouts and 1840 has multiple!! A great place to hang out, play games. We were able to bring our own food from down the street.

I used to come here all the time with my dog. Decent beer from what I remember. For not allowing dogs in a year and a half they certainly need to update being dog friendly. Head to Broken Bat up the road if you're looking to grab a brew with your pup.

Quite an impressive brewery! They were super busy when I arrived so I had to wait a bit, but no worries. I tried out two beers. Both of which turned out to be spectacular. It was my first visit to the brewery on what happened to be a busy Saturday for them. IThe brewery itself is a bit tucked away, but easy enough to find. The inside of the brewery is cozy and friendly. I found it a welcoming spot to get out of the cold.

Highlights1. Cool Vibe2. Snacks Available3. Trivia on WednesdaysI can't believe it took me so long to try 1840 Brewery! I visited with a group of 4 this week for Quizmaster Trivia (every Wednesday at 7pm at 1840). I definitely recommend getting there about 15 minutes early if you want to snag a table. The brewery has a really cool vibe. A little bit vintage and moody, which fits in great with the neighborhood. There are a variety of tables and high tops for seating as well as a big counter area near where you order. There is a large selection of beer but also multiple hard seltzer options (from Untitled Art) and I even saw an N/A option as well. I was really impressed with the food/snack options as well! I feel like at a lot of breweries Food either isn't available or it's limited to chips. 1840 has worked with a few local vendors on food so you can order tater tots (from Tots on the Street). These are usually gluten-free as well*. There is pizza offered as well as spring rolls and a selection of pretzels as well as chips and salsa. Server will bring your food to your table when it's done! I loved 1840! This is going to be a place to bring out of town guests for sure. Highly recommend and will be back. *You know your body best! I am not sure about shared fryer and work spaces. Call ahead if you have detailed questions on gluten-free items at 1840

We came to 1840 as part of a mini brewery tour on a long summer weekend for us. They have a cute little outdoor seating area but we sat inside. The bartender was super nice, giving us a few tastes to make sure we got what we wanted. And the beers were excellent! Great variety and quality. No complaints. We orders the home made tater tots as well. No one makes their own tater tots! But 1840 does and does them well. We got the plain but next time we'll try the cheese curd stuffed ones for sure!If you have not checked these guys out, you need to do so right away.

This is a hidden gem - literally I thought I'd take a wrong turn down the dark and dingy street this spot is nestled in. But I'm so glad I found it! 1840 has a gorgeous little taproom where you can enjoy their taps or bottles of delicious sips. I tried the sours they had on the menu, this time it was the "Pop" and the "Plumpy", and I enjoyed them both so much that I brought home a bottle of each! The bartender working, Greg, was knowledgeable, friendly, and really personable. I especially love how they feature local eateries to munch on while you're imbibing. They had Flourchild pizza, Lumpia City, and Tots On The Street, as well as some smaller snacks like pretzels. They make them fresh to eat on the scene, or sell them frozen to take home. Awesome to see local businesses supporting local businesses. Grab your pup and check this place out - you won't regret it!

I really liked the atmosphere of this brewery but it is kind of small. I also thought it was a little pricey but seeing that it is a small batch brewery it is understandable why. I got a sour beer and I really, really enjoyed it. I would defs go back but make sure it is not at a super busy time as they typically don't have a lot of people working.

Not noisy! Finally, a brewery you can sit in and not have loud music, screaming kids, barking dogs, or loud conversation echoing off the warehouse walls. I tried just a couple of beers and they were too hoppy for me, but everyone else at our table loved them. Many of us had been there before and enjoyed the selection of beers and the environment. One weird thing is the lone group table is too low for the high stools around it. I like the decor and the staff were very pleasant. I'll be back to give more of their beers a try and see if I can find a less hoppy one. They make a terrific addition to the neighborhood.
