What a gorgeous place for a wedding! I know this building probably has super rich history but I didn't really get too much info on that. All I know is that one of my dearest, best friends from FL got married here and I was honored to be part of the ceremony and celebration! When we went in for the rehearsal my first thought was man, I shoulda brought my wedding shoes to practice up and down the stairs. Well, for all my nerves and lack-o-balance, surprisingly it was fine on the wedding day. I really liked the center stairs leading to the stage and in the back of the room was a gorgeous balcony! It's so hard to picture the actual thing when it's just rehearsal but I felt as though it didn't need much visualization.Behind the stage area was 4 small dressing rooms which was perfect for us to get ready, into dresses and final touches (we had already done all our hair and makeup at home) There is also toilets in the little rooms which was SUPER. My friend's grand entrance was from the upper balcony (where there really is no hiding space) and the rest of us were walking from the side stairs going down to the first level (where the cocktail hour would be)Right after the ceremony, we did group photos while the staff transformed the room from service to party. They did a wonderful job and very efficient to make sure that everything was set and ready to go.This is such a beautiful place for a party (cocktail hour downstairs with the sitting space in front of the 2 fireplaces was also excellent) I really couldn't imagine a better place to have an indoor wedding. VERY intimate yet with enough space to spread out. Staff was amazing. It was a perfect venue for the perfect day.31day Yelp Challenge 7/31

So. Being an event manager, planning my wedding was not easy...I have very high expectations, and not a super high budget to match. So what do you do?? How do you find the perfect wedding venue??Well - we stumbled upon the Renaissance Place. And they were one of the more expensive venues. However, they weren't a hotel (which was important for me), and the building's character was just breathtaking. After visiting 100 more options, we decided, this will have to do.Then we met Mike. And from there, our wedding just soared!! He was so helpful in explaining the different ways to utilize the venue, helped me understand how my guests would be accommodated throughout the day and assisted me with any questions or concerns that came up during the planning process. He was extremely responsive and made me feel like I was the only wedding he had this summer (which I knew was far from the truth)Come the day of the wedding, I was completely comfortable handing him all the details and logistics ... and then I could focus on me and my husband. We had A BLAST!! Every one of my guests commented on how much they just loved the venue, how the staff was so friendly and went above and beyond to make each person feel important. Our day was absolutely perfect. And I can't imagine how I could have enjoyed it if it weren't for Mike and the Renaissance Place. We are forever thankful for the memories that will last us a lifetime!!

Holy classy Batman! So, you're a big shot business man planning a wedding for your little princess daughter and you need to impress 300 of your closest friends who also happen to be your clients? Looking for a place to host your North shore snooty High School Prom?Need to host a Cotillion (do they still have those?)?How 'bout a $500/plate political fundraiser? Here's your venue! After driving past this place my entire life, I was finally privileged enough to be invited to a wedding reception here. It was everything I hoped it would be: Absolutely gorgeous and amazingly old school in the classiest way. The reception began with a champagne cocktail reception in the front hall before we were led to our tables. No sooner were we seated the wine started pouring and didn't stop until after desert. Usually wedding food is passable at best. My Fillet Mignon was good enough to be served at any descent steakhouse in town, and I'm not talking Ponderosa here. I'm sure this place wasn't cheap, but this kind of quality never is. There is even a descent sized parking lot west of the building, although I think you need at least a Lexus to be allowed to park there.. 4 stars because although this place is super nice, its appeal is probably out of reach for most of MKE.

This was absolutely the most beautiful wedding venue for my 200 guests. The ambiance was romantic and classic, the high ceilings are elegant, and the room makes for an easy palette to decorate. Not only was a blown away with the interiors but the staff was astronomical, they did the work that would have cost us $10,000 through a wedding planner. Scott and Mike replied quickly to emails, knew all the questions to ask, took care of the all the details and other vendors, stayed the whole night to ensure everything went perfectly, and were experts on wedding etiquette. Whatever type of wedding you want, they will make it happen. I wouldn't change a thing.

This is a spectacular venue with an equally spectacular staff. The events director, Scott, made mine and my husband's planning practically stress-free. Him and the staff took care of setting up all our decorations and had great recommendations for our guests that were a hit. He is extremely knowledgeable and works with you to create the wedding of your dreams. Though the venue has tons of events going on all the time, working with Scott makes you feel like your event is the only one happening. And the space will honestly take your breath away. The architecture and high ceiling alone are a selling point. As soon as my husband and I walked in the room, we started visualizing our wedding day at Renaissance Place. The space makes for great indoor pictures, and the venue is also a few minutes from the lake for outdoor pictures.Another selling point was how easily laid out the bar pricing was. There were no confusing packages to choose from: it was simple tiers of alcohol and Scott will work with you to keep the bar bill within your budget. Overall, you will be happy you chose 1451 Renaissance Place for your wedding. The staff will handle those details that you don't have the mental capacity to think of on your wedding day, and you will have the wedding of your dreams in a classic and beautiful event space.

Place is gorgeous, Mike was so friendly and helpful! It was the best choice we made when planning our wedding. Love the bottled beer aspect instead of the tap beer!

We just had our wedding reception at this venue and I literally cannot stop talking about how fabulous it was. The venue itself is gorgeous and can accommodate a large guest count (or small). Beyond the beauty of the venue, the staff is stellar. Mike and Scott run the venue and made my wedding day as stress free as possible. I had a wedding of 230 guests and planned the entire thing without a wedding planner, which would have been impossible without their help. They answered emails very quickly and were responsive to every question I had, big or small. They were open and receptive to budget concerns and were reassuring every step of the way. When it came time to set-up for the big day, they were hands on, offered suggestions when needed, and most importantly, helped me keep my sanity. The entire night went off without a hitch, thanks to their expertise. They genuinely appreciated the work that goes into planning a wedding and made sure that all of my hard work payed off. I would absolutely recommend them to any newly engaged couples looking for a venue. Quite literally cannot say enough how wonderful they were!!!!!!!!!
