Milo's Pizza

Favorite little place in the college area forsure. Price is right, pizza is always super tasty, and the people working here are always super friendly. Hole in the wall so it's easy to miss, but definitely worth giving a try. Total hidden gem!

As a New Yorker, coming to CA and saying that the pizza could rival an NYC pizza slice place could get me beat up, but that's exactly what Milo's did not just the first night we came with the kids, but also the second time my husband and I decided to carry out because we were still hungry after a lackluster dinner at a restaurant in Little Italy.My kids are extremely particular about their pizza having grown up in NYC. There is only one place in Chicago they still eat at, and that's because it's thin-crust, pub-style. I was a bit nervous bringing them here, but it was a travel day, we had just checked into the hotel that afternoon, and we didn't want to go far or explore much. I saw the reviews and decided to give it a shot.Don't expect much in regards to ambience! They have some cool art work and photos on the wall, but other than that it's your standard counter and barstool seating.The service the first night we were there was great. We ordered a couple of slices of cheese for the kids and a couple slices with topping for ourselves. If you order two slices, you get a free drink, which was a nice touch. I didn't even know that because I was so exhausted, I didn't see the sign on the door, and the gentleman who rang us up was kind enough to inform us.The kids loved their cheese slices - the pizza was hot and fresh, the crust was well-made and crispy yet chewy. Our first two slices were with jalapeno and garlic, then we ordered another with mushroom, jalapeno and garlic. We were a fan of both. Later that week we decided to order carry out. Even though I called ahead, my pizza still wasn't ready when I got there so I waited in the car. No big deal. We got a small pie between us and it was enough - 3 medium-ish slices each with mushroom, jalapeno and garlic.I still think about that pizza even though I'm back home in NYC...that should say something.

TL;DR: college pizza - come if you want to save a buck or two but don't come expecting to find the best pie Pro: huge pies for a the priceCons: the toppings tasted canned, the sauce was so grossly sweet and tin-flavored we had to stop eatingService was relatively quick but pretty frazzledDespite being walking distance and thinking maybe other pies might be better, I won't be back. Great pizza but the service can definitely be slow.I tried to call in for pickup for Pizza slices here but sometimes they do not start cooking the pizza until I arrive there.Whats the point of calling in then?Worth the wait, but could be a smoother pickup experience..

Review is for service. Please update your website "specials". Or Honor your specials especially if they are still posted on your website. Otherwise it's misleading since I placed my order based on the menu posted on business website.

Came here because the yelp reviews were popping off and we live down the street. Went full blown and got a large "works" pizza for 2 people and had a coupon to get the "garlic knots" for free! Food was def college-y: Cheap mediocre food to fill you up. Would mainly come get a slice post drinking or late night, but def not a box at home kinda spot. Much rather would go to dominos. The garlic knots were garlic-less and the works was a better named supreme. Ingredients seem kinda straight from cans or something. Service was slow and it didn't really seem like it was a fresh made pie after trying a bite. Maybe I just didn't order the right thing but I don't get the hype. Gave it 2 stars cuz the price is cheap!!!

I haven't had Milo's in a very long time. I used to know the OG owner when Milo's was in PB. The works pizza was great, the only issue I had was when you put a lot of veggies on a pie it will not have a crisp the crust but I knew that before ordering. Otherwise it was great. I ordered online, it gave the ETA to come pick it up. I went in-between the time frame and the pizza was already done, that was only 15-20 minutes after ordering online. Good job, I'll be back.

It's better than ordering online Open late even on Sunday(s) There are plenty of pre-designed pies and a good list of toppings Salads, Calzone, Cheese Bread, etc... In the past, I would have ordered one of their pies with meat, but now Vegetarian. The Pesto, The Margherita are AMAZING! I got my friend the Combo+Pineapple, and she said it was amazing! I kinda assumed after her 3rd slice!Also tried their Calzone! The sauce on the side wasn't my favorite. However, the calzone still was damn good!The only negative thing again was the wait, I assume it's because SDSU students know how epic this pizza is!Customer service is definitely a highlight here. They want to know if you receive bad service, so it's very unlikely you will, I never have! I have only ordered delivery, but I'm sure the storefront is the same Customer Service.I highly recommend Milo's anytime you're craving a good slice of pizza, calzone, or a pizza! They're that good! After all, they make their dough "all day long!"

Delicious pizza and subs!! Can order over the phone which makes pick up very quick! It's very laid back, in a good way, given the college area. They even have good lunch deal combos! two slices of pizza and a drink under 10 bucks!

Visiting SD and staying in the neighborhood, we stumbled upon Milo's while shopping at a nearby supermarket. THIS is what a pizza place should be! The pie was excellent, ingredients fresh and tasty, perfect sauce and just the right amount. Wife's salad was just as good. The morning we left to drive back to Arizona, my grandson wanted to get a pizza for the road! A great place!
