Mikado Japanese Steak House

Our group of 7 took a whole table. The chef cooked well but entertained and interacted better than any hibachi chef I have ever had serve. He told awesome dad jokes, played with the kids with the food and even created balloon animals!I had shrimp and scallops, Perfectly cooked. Others had the steak, filet mignon & the med rare was awesome. Why anyone would want well done is beyond me. Veggies were great. Sauces were good. YumYum, solid. Steak, but salty. Soup awesome. Salad needed a bit more ginger but that's my preference. Overall great experience. Will be back.

Yes! I attended a Birthday Dinner party here on April 19, 2024, iWill NEVER be back. 1. The building iS old outside/ & iNside, the paint is pealing off, it looked hideous. The inside is just as bad and/or worse. The furniture is old and run down. 2. I had an unsweetened tea- horrible! 3. I didn't want to seem antisocial so I ordered the vegetable meal with fried rice only. That was NOT seasoned, ton of soy sauce on the vegetables. I finally stopped trying and gave my food to one of the ladies in our party. (Ms. Pearl) 4. When I left there my nieces & I went to Urban Grub for "After Dinner Dinner". (Much Better) 5. The Ambiance was dated. For ME it's a hard NO.

Great hibachi spot in Nashville! Came here for a friends birthday and ordered the number 8 (filet mignon and jumbo shrimp). The filet was cooked perfectly and tasted fresh. The shrimp was slightly overcooked, but I feel like that's always the case at hibachi restaurants. The service is fast and the place can hold fairly large groups!The chefs do a good job at making your table feel special and entertaining you with their fire skills. Will be back!

Hibachi is hard to find around Nashville. Had a few people recommend Mikado so we went! We arrived at 6PM on a Tuesday and were told it could be an hour wait. We went to the bar area and waiting for a little bit. We were seated probably after about 15 minutes of waiting. We did sit at the hibachi table for about hot minute before we got our soup and salad! Me and my husband both ordered filet and scallops. We got our son a side of chicken but they still brought him soup and salad. Everything else was just as you would expect. Big burst of fire, volcano, shrimp in the mouth, etc etc. It was good and a good show!

This place was mediocre. I had the filet, it was below average. Our chef was funny but the service overall from start to finish was slow. The space was a little outdated, and not in the cool way. I was also put off that they didn't have a changing table in the women's restroom, our check alone tonight could have covered the cost of a changing table (instead, I laid my baby's poopy booty across the counter in the bathroom, kidding... kind of:)). I addressed it with the manager (or at least, I believe that to be his role) and he basically told me that they don't have many kids come there, and the kids that do usually make a mess out of rice on the floors. He was actually nice, but his choice of words weren't helping his case.Overall... It was average/decent. I just won't be back, and I won't personally recommend it to any friends.

My friend made very last minute plans to have her birthday party here... we had a large party about 18 people they were very accommodating with large parties, we ended up with two tables but the chefs came out at the same time so it all worked out they only think was one table had a better experience as one chef was very entertaining and the other was a little dry, but we made the best of it! The service was okay, very slow, especially when ordering drinks and asking for anything extra. For example, the ice cream at the end we waited and waited check we brought out and it never came, good thing we brought our own cupcakes.As far as the food I ordered the shrimp and scallops, now i love hibachi, but this was not it, I've had WAY better, but it is decent. It would definitely not be a choice I would pick on my own. I do not want to discredit the restaurant again I said it was decent, just wouldn't be a place i would recommend on my behalf.

Loved the chef! He was probably the top part of the whole experience. Sake was great and server was accommodating. Most likely will come back for more!

It felt like being factory-fed. Things started out well, and the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, our server brought a round of drinks and then we did not see her again until she brought the check. And it included an auto gratuity for a family dinner for 5. $200+ bill with zero service.The food was average except for my steak which was inedible. It had been frozen/burned and tasted like liver. It would have been nice for the server to have been available to discuss that.The manager was very apologetic and removed the gratuity.

I walked in and walked out. The smell was terrible. My friends stayed. It was 45 mins wait to be seated which is expected at a hibachi grill. They were short staffed with only 2 cooks. My friends sat another hour waiting for the cook. We arrived around 5:30 and they didn't eat until 8.

Be ready to pay 40$ for 5 pieces of shrimp. terrible service everyone seems in a rush or hurry to get you out of there. There are many better hibachi close so id say go to one of those.
