Micheline's Pita House - Solana Beach

First time here, and it was excellent. My friend and I had the combo plate. My combo plate had chicken shawarma, gyros, basmati rice, fries, and chipotle hummus. It was a fulfilling portion. Service is great. They took care of my online order. I look forward to coming back when I'm in the area.

They serve a good amount food as I tend expect from Mediterranean restaurants, however they are extremely unaccommodating to substitutions or add-ons. For an example, it's a "no" if you want crouton chips on your bowl. Do they have croutons? Yes. Can you see the croutons? Yes. Then why on earth cannot you not toss some on... very weird. I did not quite enjoy the ordering process seeing how I had to cut someone in line then I got cut in line at the register. If I didn't speak up for myself the staff would of continued accommodating the indecency. Their salad bar set up is inefficient for they way they in which they take orders.I was one of three disgruntled customers in the little time I was in there. One customer wanted lettuce as a base and again it was coupled with a "no". One customer wanted the quinoa mixture mixed in with his salad and that was a "no", and then lastly me, disrespectfully getting skipped in line by a customer when my food was waiting at the cash register. This will probably be my first and last time visiting this establishment. Ps. The pita is hard and cut in the form of a chip causing it to be inaccessible as a proper pita pocket.

I have been to Micheline's on several occasions, and for the most part it serves reasonably good Mediterranean-style food. I have always found staff friendly and even willing to give a bit extra of this or that on the side. Last time I was there, for example, I asked about getting a bit of baba ganoush on my wrap, and the woman serving it added it without charging me. Small things like this make this spot worthy of my patronage. As a place to actually sit and eat, it's a bit basic and loud, but I've enjoyed pleasant and leisurely lunches at this spot. Where I would like to see it improve, however, is in the food offerings themselves. As this kind of cuisine goes, it is competent. The ingredients are good, so no complaint there. That said, the sauces and sides are OK, but a bit coarse. The meats that go into pitas, wraps and plates might be better seasoned; they are occasionally a bit dry. Both my wife and I, when eating here, agree: almost, but not quite.In sum, while I like Micheline's, I think I would characterize it as a "beginner's" eastern Mediterranean locale. It's a good place to go if you are unfamiliar with these tastes and flavors. But for someone more accustomed to these dishes, I think he or she would wonder why it couldn't be a bit better?

Great place for a delicious meal. Lots of healthy, fresh choices prepared expertly. The hummus is so good!

I've been to the La Jolla location a few times, but this one is more conveniently on the way home from work for me so I decided to stop by. It definitely didn't disappoint.Parking is abundant so you don't ever have to worry about that and there's plenty of tables and seating inside as well. I ordered my usual gyros sandwich with a side of fries and it was as good as always. The meats were well seasoned and the woman helping me made sure that she packed my sandwich with all of the toppings that my heart desired. Fries were top notch, they have well seasoned and crispy fries that I dream about on a daily basis.Would love to come back here and enjoy another meal in the future!

Came for lunch and got their - rice plate with beans, gyro, chipotle hummus, salad toppings, garlic and chipotle aioli- pita with steak shawarma with chipotle aioli and chipotle hummus- 3 falafels It's too bad they didn't do a fresh gyro carving for my order and scooped up the last ones from the container. Maybe the fresh gyro carving would have been warm and not as dry. The steak was warmed up but was a little over done. The falafels were deep fried on the spot and had a nice outer crunch. I was a bit thrown off by the beans on rice for a Mediterranean spot. It took a while for people to get their orders. There were other staff members but mainly one guy handling a majority of the orders. Overall, it was ok and tasted a bit on the heavier side in comparison with Luna Grill or other Mediterranean establishments.

The food is delicious!! Can't recommend this place enough. Very fresh ingredients with large portions. Reasonably priced for the quality and quantity! Will be coming back

Frequent once a week for the past 2 years and it's my favorite lunch and casual dinner place in North County. Everything is well prepared, ingredients are fresh and high quality. Love the Greek salad with chicken, their pita sandwiches and their spicy hummus. This is a real gem that provides great healthy food at a reasonable price.

Stopped by for lunch and got the combo plate with gyro for nearly $18. Food was good. Gyro was perfectly seasoned; pita bread was thick and chewy. Service was quick; could have been friendlier.

This is the second location I've frequented. I usuall go to the La Jolla location when I go into the office. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant was clean. I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken Salad which is my favorite and it did not disappoint one bit. I also ordered a side of pita to go along with it. I love that the Solana Beach location has plenty of parking and overall a less hectic experience. Definitely worth making the drive from Vista!
