Michael's Beef House

This review is solely because of the continued poor service they provide at the register. Big guy who seems to be the owner treats his staff like dirt and it reflects when they assist you as well. I have been here on multiple occasions because the food is pretty decent but I don't think it's worth dealing with the poor attitude. So, going forward I will have to look for somewhere to have lunch at.

We love this beef stand. I am always talking it up. I'm not sure what was happening on Monday. With the two beefs that were ordered, both had Sunday bread.. It was not the same as in the past. It's always a treat to go here. We could have gone to Johnny's or Bobo's. This was our choice. Maybe this was a one off thing. Now we will think twice when choosing dinner. We didn't even Finnish it.

How can I rate a place so low when their fries are good? The guy at the counter is a jerk who won't accommodate my simple order. I just want fries with three sides of hot peppers. He actively gatekeeps the quantity of hot peppers any single person can buy AND fills the sides predominantly with oil. Great fries, but I just can't do this anymore. I grew up a few blocks from Michael's and I had no problems until this guy ... but that's enough for me.

01/31/23 - Stopped by to grab a bite to eat before the Bulls Clipper game tonight. I'm pretty sure I ate here before but dam this beef was delicious. I got the beef served piping hot & dipped on garlic bread w/Jardinere peppers. Woooo boy was that good. Nice hot juicy messy beef w/the spicy Jardinere peppers. Did that ever hit the spot. My hands were an oily sloppy mess but I enjoyed every bite.Now the million dollar question. Who has the best beef? It all boils down to how hungry you are. I thought that this Beef was excellent. I will definitely be back again.

I rushed here to get dinner before 8:00 closing time. Walked in the door at 7:58- I made it!"Sorry. We're closed," the cashier said. "Maybe you need to change your hours form 8:00 to 7:58""Now it says 7:59""Again, your not closed for another minute." The man didn't care. I try to eat local. Michael's once had an owner that tended to this place. He donated to the community. He seemed happy to own Michals. There was an upbeat vibe in there. I don't know what happened, but it feels like they don't care any more. Help me understand better.

Met some friends after church for lunch. Have been here before several times. This time I had the gyros cheeseburger - interesting and very good.Onion rings are real onion - could have used a few more in the order.Wife had the Southwest salad w/o the Cajun spice - very good.

The food here is good, but not as good as they think obviously, because they are all rude and act like they hate their job. If you don't like it, do something else. Not going back.

I came here specifically to see if others felt as though they received bad customer service as well since the last 3x we've been there, the man running the register was also short & rude to us as if he had many other, better things to do. The 1st time I thought he was just having a bad day. I went today & same attitude. Apparently it's not a bad day but a lot of bad days. Unfortunate. We love their Italian Ice in addition to the food. My star rating is for food (& Italian Ice) only. Customer Service gets a 1 if that.

Well it's been a while since I had any fast food you gyros and I was doing errands along the way after coming home from work so late. I've been to this place before and it's very decent if not good food. The service was also decent in regards to what they give you and when they serve you food. As for your ambience it's pretty typical a little more decent than most fast food places like this. Right by the tip of the oak Park in Chicago. I ordered the gyros plate cuz I was that hungry already. Other than that if you can't wait and don't know any other places there's a place to go besides us hamburgers another fast food. The french fries were a hook to dark brown and have the right texture. If you get the gyros sandwich I don't think it comes with extra versus getting the gyros plate

Great salads for a fast food burger joint. Great fresh cut fries. Solid burger, there are better beefs in the area but the beef is not too shabby either. Service was good, place is clean and modern looking. Kind of tricky to get into the parking lot depending upon which way you get there.
