The service is okay, the ambience feels nice. The food was the highlight of the show!! We got the special noodle mi la cay and mi hoanh thanh wonton noodle soup. Their wonton noodle soup is okay but their special noodle was super delicious!! I love their fried shrimp!! The fried drum stick crispy on the outside and tender in the inside. The broth was very good as well. Highly recommend this place!!

Updating because this is my staple soup noodle place, esp after Hue Ky Mi Gia closed. Whenever I'm feeling down weather wise or sick wise, I typically get:- House noodle soup: the fried shrimp is the best part- Wonton and bbq pork noodles- Duck noodlesI always get egg noodles.Hoping this restaurant stays in business for a long time.Oh I also dined in recently, it was quiet, not too busy and the staff was kind.

Mi La Cay is one of those places I just always want to keep coming back to. Definitely the best place for mi (Vietnamese egg noodle soup) in the area. I love how many soup options there are and how it's very customizable. Everything I've tried is good but the standout favorites for me are the bbq duck and the fried shrimp - with the soup on the side so they stay crispy!

This place used to be soooo goooood. They'd have fresh veggies, the fried prawn would be so crispy, but it just seems with time things just aren't the same anymore. Flavor and taste is still really good, from the soup to the noodles but it's just not what it used to be. I used to come here all the time but the last two times I went post covid they've gotten my order wrong and as mentioned the food is just not that fresh. I typically get house / special with thick egg noodle with extra prawn. Wish I could give it a 5 star but I can't!

Quick service, clean dining space, and amazing food. The special egg noodles is a nostalgic/childhood meal so whenever I eat it, I feel at home. The dish comes with slices of bbq pork, one fried chicken drumstick, and one fried shrimp - all of which was delicious. I like my soup separate but you can also add in the soup for no extra cost. Portions are a bit smaller than I expected but I was full by the end of the meal so not a complaint at all. Will be coming back again!

While the server was not the friendliest or warm staff person at the time, the meal was really good. Not too salty and very flavorful. I would definitely come again and try their other noodles :)I would recommend maybe bok choy instead of lettuce though. It's more nutritious and has more flavor than lettuce.

This is the OG of roast chicken, roasted duck egg noodles. Mi la cay been around since I was a kid and I'm over 30 years old now. So you can see and tell what kind of food they bring to the community. My go to order all the time is the roasted chicken egg noodles dry with soup on the side. I get it in soup form too on cold days but I like it dry you'll get all the flavors and the crispiness from the roast chicken. Now the down fall is parking sucks and the sauce for noodles can be a hit and miss sometimes. There's days where it's perfect and there's days where it's a bit bland. But it's ok I can always add more sauce to it, better than over seasoning.

4 for the food - food is excellent 2 for customer service.I normally love to support local businesses, plus food here is quite consistent and excellent, but the server was not friendly or warm at all. The server's attitude ruined our meal. The owners should consider retraining this staff on customer service. My parents were so offended they don't want to come back even though it's a favorite spot. I recommend to consider take out instead. On plus note, the server knew to provide an extra small bowl and scissors when kids are present. This was thoughtful but expressed through a less than warm attitude. She server gave my parents are rude response when they asked for a 2nd container for their food. She acted like we were homeless people stealing an extra 25 cents container and stared at my mom to make sure she was using it for her meal. She also watched her Chinese drama when she was staffing. I will come back to support owner and the amazing cook but they really should reconsider their server choices.

3.5 Stars. Good portions and perfect on a breezy day but nothing was that flavorful. Ordered takeout and food was ready in 15 minutesShrimp Spring Rolls ($8) - comes with Hoisin dipping sauce (wish it was peanut), good size and tightly wrappedDuck Noodle Soup ($14.5) - nice crispy pieces of duck and chewy egg noodles (choose egg or rice) primary flavor of the broth was salt, added a ton of sriracha for more flavor thoughHouse Noodle Soup ($13) - loved the variety of toppings! Like the crispy shrimp wonton disc! Same comments about broth and noodles as the duck noodle soup. Loved how everything was perfectly packaged. Choose small or large. Located in International District, didn't eat in but the interior was so nice!

I'm embarrassed I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture of the food! Well it was delicious. Mi La Cay has always been a favorite restaurant in ID/Chinatown. Especially when it was at its original location off Dearborn & Rainier (which is now a new apartment building). My parents have dined and still dine here from time to time for their classic egg noodle soup with char siu bbq pork, fried (battered) shrimp and duck. Let's not forget the table condiments that are sooo crucial to making the dishes classic. My favorite go to is the special which comes with cuts of pork, a duck drummy, fried shrimp, cabbage and chives. I either get it dry style and toss in the infamous pickled jalapeños, chili oil, soy sauce and vinegar or have it as a soup and leave the condiments to dip the sliced meats. Either way, guests can choose. You can also pic between egg noodles (small, chewy, round, not the flat kind) or the pho-rice noodles. However you like it! I also order a side of fried wontons because they're tasty... comes with a nice tangy, spicy sour dipping sauce or you can create your own with the table side condiments. The service has been great since 1996. You can really taste the love and dedication to these dishes. As always, a meal for 2 along with a shared appetizer will run you $40. That's a steal deal if you ask me these days! I highly recommend more guests come to try the wonderful dishes at Mi La Cay!
