Mexico Cafe

Always five stars here. This family owned and run restaurant is top notch. I decided on a current update even though nothing has really changed. Our server was great. She was funny as well as efficient. I enjoyed having her. I had one of their burritos covered with Chile Verde. It was so big I had to take half of it home. Gone are the days when I can sit down and tackle something like that in one sitting. It's okay though because I ate the rest the next morning and it was still excellent.

Mexico Cafe has been my families favorite since I was a little girl. Everything is delicious, wonderful staff. I could drink their salsa!

Fast and exceptionally friendly service. We both had the smothered burrito with shredded pork. Absolutely delicious. Ice cold Mac & Jack on tap capped a superb lunch.

Mexico Cafe has been a West Mount Vernon staple for decades, and for good reason. This family-owned little Mexican restaurant serves up authentic, tasty goodness. And, bonus, they have one of my favorite beers (Negra Modelo) on tap!I'm especially fond of their lunch specials, including their pork chile verde which, in my opinion, is borderline addictive. It tastes like it's been sitting in a slow cooker for hours. The meat is so tender, and there's just enough spice. Speaking of spice, I only recommend ordering their camarones a la diablo if you LOVE it hot. Because theirs will make your eyes water. I love spicy food, and could barely finish mine (but it was so good, I had to).The place is a bit divey, and I'm sad that they don't have a separate bar area, but there's plenty of parking and the service is always fast and friendly. This is my go-to spot for delish Mexican food on the Westside.

Everything about this restaurant is bland and basic. Food looks unappealing. Establishment is ok. Nothing amazing. Service was eh I recommend finding another establishment to eat at. Will not return or give this as a suggestion.

I can't go 5 stars when I only really like one thing here, but I do highly recommend the following:1. Get the spicy salsa to mix in with their classic bland stuff...and put the chip seasoning on your chips!2. Order the chimichanga, comes with amazing chili verde to dip it in...delicious.3. Skip the margaritas, skip the enchiladas.

10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND Staff: 8/10 depends on who you get everyone I have had has been nice but 1 lady Food: TOO DIE FOR! tacos de carnitas are my go to always lately I've been adding shrimp tacos Price: isn't to bad for just my husband and I we pay about $45 with our my drink and about $60 with 2 of my drinks ( strawberry pina colada)Go get ya some!!

It was very busy at lunchtime. It took awhile for us to get seated and acknowledged at the door/entry. Once seated we did get menus and water right away. It was a wait to get our order taken and then a long wait to get our food. I got the smothered burrito with verde sauce. The plate was mostly refried beans, rice and a very small, flat burrito with about 4 pieces of pork on the top(?!). Picture a Swedish pancake, flat. Tons of cheese, too much cheese and maybe 4 more pieces of pork inside. I would never order this again, not sure I would go back as there are so many great Mexican restaurants to go to. My husband had the carnitas, he said they were ok/good. We both had indigestion later, burb!

So delicious! Plus their secret seasoned salt is amazing My hubby & I had the 2 taco lunch special that came with rice & beans..perfect!
