Go to the one on Yale, 3 blocks away. Better selection, and they stay open until their posted hours.

My wife and I were walking back to our apartment and decided to stop here to get a quick breakfast. This place is like a mom and pop's store with basic packaged food items, lots of wine, and other refrigerated food items. We were there too early to order from their lunch menu but they had a spread of common breakfast items under hot lamps. Essentially, you select whatever items you want and pay by the pound; with a little extra charge for the bacon. My wife's choices (2 strips of bacon, sausage, 2 biscuits, and a hash brown) came out to about $10.50. Kinda expensive but she did get to pick everything she wanted. My wife enjoyed everything except the sausage.Aside from the food, the employees (perhaps all part of the same family) were friendly and appeared very hard-working. Also the store is extremely clean and organized. This is a nice, convenient place to stop in to get a drink, a bag of chips, or a quick breakfast/lunch to go.

I have to say, I was fairly disappointed with this place. I came for lunch and got the teriyaki dish which came with chicken, pork, some veggies, 2 potstickers and rice. First off, they gave a LOT of rice and a very very small side of the main entree. Second, the rice was very dry and bland. I was only able to eat half of it because it needed the meat for it to be edible and since I was out of entree, I couldn't finish the rice. Third, it was not teriyaki. It was like Kung Pao chicken but not as good either. I also couldn't tell which was chicken and which was pork. Lastly, at the bottom of the entree is a pool of oil...Definitely will not be coming back here for lunch. I rather just go to panda Express or a fast food chain for food.

It's a convenient convenience store that is located at the bottom of an apartment building, so if you live nearby you can come by at your convenience for convenient items. Located at the corner of Republican & Pontius under the Stack House Apartments.Came by midday on Saturday because I was in the area, stopped by to get a sandwich and a drink. As mentioned, there are a bunch of convenient items for you to buy, drinks, coffee and food items. There is a deli inside with a coffee bar if you are hungry, and I was. I decided to try one of their sandwiches and got the Seattle Club. It was actually pretty good, you get a choice of bread so I got ciabatta, comes with turkey, ham, lettuce, tomato, bacon and mayo & mustard. You can get the bread toasted as well, so I did. All meats are Boar's Head brand if that matters to you. They do have quite a bit of food items, there's a food bar with hot & cold items, soups, they make sandwiches, all kinds of chips, cookies etc. Place offers some ledge seating along the edge, 2 couches and a couple of tables with some TV's in the background to watch. Prices are pretty average for a sandwich and drink, so yea nothing exciting there. Staff was friendly, worked quickly to get your food made etc. Probably come back for convenience.

I love this store!! They are always so kind and thoughtful. It's obvious they really care about their customers. This kind of customer service is a lost art. Other stores should follow their example. Thank you metropolitan cafe!!

This has become my go to breakfast place. The breakfast burrito is delicious and hefty! Filled with your choice of ingredients and eggs, then slightly grilled in a panini press. Can't go wrong. The option of a breakfast sandwich on a bagel, croissant or English muffin is much appreciated. I also love the coffee brand they serve. The lunch salad bar is always fun and an easy lunch option for me. Super convenient to have this store near work. They serve Boars Head meats so while I haven't had a sandwich I am sure they are good as well. Staff are super friendly as well.

YO: To the cashier dude here who let me buy and subsequently chow down on the mac and cheese microwavable dinner (that he microwaved for me!) while he was closing up that late night, you the real MVP.I was inebriated and hungry, wandering in from the darkness of night from a concert, with only one demand from this unrepentant, putrid earth: cheap food. This Metropolitian Deli & Cafe delivered, and for that kindness, when and if, in the far future, our civilization casts down the false idols of gilded capitalism and we decide to live out our lives with No Gods and No Masters, I hereby vow I will ensure an exception for Metropolitan to the tune of; "Wait, don't burn that place down, I was really drunk one night and they fed me."
