Metropolitan Deli & Cafe

Extremely disappointing customer service. Don't go if you're a person of color. You may be upcharged or even charged for the wrong item. But far worse than that, there's a clear difference in the way that white patrons are treated vs. POC. The rudeness from staff is unwarranted, and although the food is good, I won't be returning.

Every time I try to go here as someone who lives close by they are closed 10-15 minutes earlier than they list. The few times i have gone in and bought something it's completely over priced.

Amazing locally owned deli and market. Delicious breakfast sandwiches for a very reasonable price! Love this place.

After walking up 1st street to a few overly crowded coffee shops, I popped in here because I was looking for coffee and a breakfast bite. I got a latte and deluxe breakfast sandwich and everything was delicious. What I really appreciated is that they use real eggs for their breakfast sandwich...literally cracked it and cooked it for the order (unlike pre-packaged breakfast sandwiches at other places). So, it was super fresh, hot and delicious. And it's a corner market so they have groceries and a sandwich deli counter that also looked yummy.

This deli is so close to my apartment and convenient. I've been to other metropolitan delis around seattle but this one is quite nice! They have a great selection of alcohol and snacks. I love that it's more of a convenience store than it is just a deli. They also have a hot food bar, but everytime I've been it has been sold out. The sandwiches are also quite good - I've tried the tuna melt and the breakfast sandwich and would recommend both. They are pretty generous with the proportions and the associates there are really friendly! Highly recommend for a quick bite or if you're looking to pick up anything last minute (laundry detergent, cold medicine, ramen, ice cream, beer, etc).

What a lovely, clean deli and store. The lady behind the counter was very sweet and made a fantastic club sandwich at a very reasonable priceHighly recommend eating here if you're looking for something quick and delicious!!! It's quiet and comfortable, perfect little spot.And if you have the need for some groceries this is your place. And they have a wonderful selection of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

I love this store, but for snacks only. I was so hungry and didn't have time to go anywhere else for a quick sandwich. I got a veggie sandwich, it was eh, mediocre at best. And it was $14. Of course everything in this city is expensive, but for a veggie sandwich with no pazazz, shouldn't be $14. Subway would have been a better option.

Do not shop here, the business owners manipulate their charges when at check out like tipping themselves or double charging for an item. I already contacted my bank about this issue.

We love this little deli cafe! It's definitely a neighborhood cafe and great when you need a quick bite to eat or need a few miscellaneous items. The ladies who run/work it are so friendly, always. They have treats for our dog and love saying hello.The prices are like most sandwich shops I've been too, so I wouldn't come every day because it would add up. However, I think this place is much better than Stella's, and Metro Deli always has everything in stock for making sandwiches. Support small businesses!

It may be a bit pricey compared to the convenience and grocery stores around town but honestly, it's a very nice place. They don't just have beer, wine, basic home needs, and beverages. They also have a coffee maker and they carry a great coffee brand. They make sandwiches, breakfast burritos, salads, etc. I highly reccomend the bacon breakfast burrito. I get it when I can in the morning before work.
