Mestizo's Mexican Cuisine

This is what I would consider your typical American Mexican restaurant. The food was pretty good and the start was nice. I wish they had Mexican sodas or aguas frescas, but they just have regular sodas. The margaritas looked good so maybe next time I'll try one of those.

I lived less than 1 minute away from here for a year and finally tried it. I'll be honest, I could have went my whole life without eating here. Very basic, almost too basic that it was not worth spending the money. Which by the way, it was a bit pricey, especially for Mexican food. Luckily I don't live near there anymore and the curiosity won't get the best of me.

Stopped here on our way to Gatlinburg! The food portions were large, food was delicious, pricing was pretty accurate for good food these days. Definitely would go back!

They are prominently listed on Uber Eats for delivery, her they canceled three of my orders in a week. I called and the manager said that did not use any food delivery services, but if I wanted to eat their food, I'd have to get up and come into the restaurant which I've done it many times and also I picked up food to bring home, but they were just indiscriminately. cancel your order and you would be at home thinking the order was going to be delivered and then return your phone only to find out you had no dinner.. poor poor management.

Mestizo's is a local Mexican spot that sits at the corner of Old Hickory and Charlotte Pike. It is a small place, nothing fancy with no frills just solid food, decent service and tasty sangria! While they offer a lot of the classic TexMex dishes, their menu is a bit different than your average local Mexican spot. It is more specialized with main food for dinner being on one page. If you are a combination person, which I am guilty of, you do have the option to create your own combo with a few mains and sides, but you will not find a #1 or Speedy Gonzalez at Mestizo's! We started our meal off with the Chorizo con Queso, which ran us $7.50. This is the same price as the standard queso in the same size, so why would you not get the chorizo?! For dinner we both opted for one of the Platillos con Pollo, or chicken dishes. I got the Pollo Con Hongos, which is grilled chicken and mushrooms topped with queso and sided with rice/beans...but 86 the beans for me! My partner got the Pollo Fiesta, grilled chicken, peppers, onions and tomatoes on abed of rice topped with queso. I was in love with my dish, but the tomatoes were a little haphazardly chopped and cooked on the Fiesta plate, but it was still good per my partner. So, we enjoyed our apps and dinners! The interior was odd, not in a bad way, it is just different for a local Mexican spot. It is essentially one big room with the bar in the middle, booths lining the walls and tables filling the other areas. It is not a big space, but it works. Service was a little odd. Maybe they team all the tables, but it was tough to determine who our server actually was as we had three people visit our table throughout the night. We had to flag down a waiter twice during our meal to get a refill/side and the check. They were all friendly, but it was a little messy from the service side of things. Parking is tough, as is entry and exit into the location. There are a few spots up front in the small lot or some spaces behind the building. Currently they are the only business in the building, but it appears they will have a laundromat joining soon...so that lot is going to get a little worse for in and out, and spaces! Overall, we enjoyed our trip to Mestizo's. It's certainly worth a trip back and is on the list for go-to Mexican spots around our neighborhood.

Mestizo's offers solid Tex-Mex style fair for a reasonable price across the street from McKay's. If margaritas are your thing, they have pretty decent happy hours and several options to consider when imbibing. You'll have several options for entrees, from tacos to enchiladas and fajitas. Food comes out quite quickly even with a crowd. Our waiters checked in just enough, and we felt satisfied by our dining experience.I enjoyed the flautas here, but there are several options for people who want to taste test a few different options, like the dinner combo (Chile relleno, enchilada, taco, burrito, tostada, and a taqueria).It's a chill and cheerful atmosphere here, sure to please.

This place!!!! I'd argue it's the best Mexican food in Bellevue. Amazing fresh food. Great, friendly, fast service. Big fan and it's now the only Mexican place I go to in Bellevue!

Not what I was expecting. I came right after work after hearing they have discounted margaritas during happy hour. Very cute inside and it wasn't really packed. Highly disappointed in the taste or the margarita however and didn't taste any tequila. Seeing such a full bar I hoped they would make a fresh margarita but they have a premade mix they pour on ice or blend if you order frozen.I also ordered chorizo dip and two tacos to take home. The chorizo dip is soooooo good. The chips that came with it look like they are made in-house, but weren't crispy so I used the complimentary chips instead to get that good crunch. The tacos weren't the best and were super soggy when I got home and I live 4 minutes away. But after thinking about how my check was twice the amount it should have been and I had to wait on them to change it, I probably should have ate them while there.

Stopped for a quick lunch before shopping at McKay's Bookstore. We were very pleasantly surprised. Service was great, friendly and fast! Food was fantastic! Definitely the best Mexican food I've had in a long time! Chips were light and crispy, salsa was flavorful and seasoned just right. We both ordered the chicken fajita special and it was delicious! Everything was fresh and flavorful. If I lived nearby, I would make Mestivo's my Mexican go-to restaurant.

My husband and I came here and ordered a 33 dollar meal. Shrimp,chicken and steak fajitas . I asked Please, please can you not over cook my meat. What I got was charred food. What was supposed to be green peppers were black! Never Going back! So disappointed. So unexceptionable!
