Welcoming decor and atmosphere. This restaurant and bar is connected to a hotel, I believe. Parking is on the street. (If there was a garage I wasn't paying attention lol)I came with a friend for brunch on Sunday. We didn't have a reservation but after checking in with the hostess, we had a quick wait under 10 minutes and then we were seated at a table by the fireplace. There didn't seem to be an abundance of seating in the place, so at its full capacity it's still an aesthetically pleasing space. I ordered the French toast and a side of chicken sausage, with a coffee. The French toast was simple but good. And the chicken sausage was tasty, I wish there were two links served instead of one. I was visiting Chicago when I came but would definitely come back for drinks to see how that atmosphere is.

I recently visited Mesler Kitchen Bar Lounge during their off-peak hours, specifically between 2-4 PM, to avoid interrupting any busy tables. Upon arrival, I was told I could wait at the bar for the bartender. Despite making eye contact with the bartender several times, they chose to engage in a lengthy conversation with a coworker, laughing for about 10-15 minutes while ignoring me. Frustrated, I returned to the hostess to request a seat and waited another 15 minutes before a server finally approached me.I ordered a kiwi pineapple margarita and settled in. I remained seated for about an hour and a half without any further attention from the staff. Although I had finished my drink and packed my belongings, my server continued to ignore me in favor of other guests nearby, who were also just having drinks. The level of disregard was baffling, as it was not even a busy lunch time, just lounge hours. In the end, I had to flag down a different server who had not even started their shift to handle my bill. While the drink itself tasted great, the customer service was appalling. I felt extremely unwelcome and disrespected, which is disheartening given my frequent patronage at Woodlawn Tap where I typically spend around $60 three times a week on food and drinks. I usually visit restaurants when they are less busy in hopes of receiving better service, but I will certainly avoid Mesler Kitchen Bar Lounge during busy times if this is their standard of service. It's a shame, as I had high hopes for this place, but I won't be returning.

I am still thinking about the pancakes and sausage I had for breakfast at The Mesler. The pancakes were soooo fluffy and rich. And the sausage was full of flavor. I felt satisfied without feeling heavy. I would love to go back for lunch and dinner options. The energy was buzzing the evening I arrived. And the only reason I didn't check it out was because of a prior engagement (which I thought about canceling just to stay). I'll definitely be back!

This is my spot! Came here Friday afternoon. It's the kind of place where you see casually beautiful people but without the ostentatious displays I typically associate with Miami or Los Angeles. We were seated in the shaded courtyard and service was on point. Good drinks too!

I'm giving this a zero rating because my experience was absolutely the worst. My friend and I, a party of two, arrived at The Messler on Memorial Day for an early dinner. Despite a slight crowd and plenty of open tables, we waited about four minutes before someone came from behind the bar to seat us by the window. Our waiter asked us to be patient as she was handling a lot of tables, which we were definitely okay with. She came back to take our order, and we reiterated our choices multiple times, as we had already looked at the menu before arriving. Despite this, we waited over an hour for our food. We had to flag her down to check on the status, and it seemed like she was avoiding us. Multiple tables that arrived after us received their food and desserts before us. People at the bar, who arrived after us, also got their food before us.It seemed like a miscommunication or she forgot to put our order in, which is understandable, but she never came back to give us any updates. Our parking expired before we got our food, which was very frustrating. By the time our food arrived, it was time for me to leave. She never came back to check on us, and I had to go to the bar to ask for to-go boxes. To top it off, the food was burnt. While I would love to recommend The Messler, based on this visit, I just cannot and will not be visiting them anytime soon.

Mesler is always a vibe. The customer service is impeccable. The inside is warm and welcoming. The drinks are they are the top tier, they're really growing and sexy. The food is amazing. I enjoy the vibes so much I usually forget to take pictures. I have never had a bad experience.

While visiting Chicago, I got dinner at Mesler with one of my best friends who was born and raised in Hyde Park. It was a vibe, and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire dining experience. We ordered three courses--appetizers, entrees, and dessert--and all the dishes were a hit. The salmon entree was actually one of the best salmon preparations I've had in a while. The ambiance reminded me of one of my favorite TV shows: The Chi. There was an eclectic mix of people in the restaurant, the space was tastefully decorated with inclusive art, and the overall interior design was modern and sleek. Service was a bit slow at times, but our server was wonderful overall! She provided great recommendations, was fun and relatable, and did her due diligence to ensure we were enjoying our dining experience.

Omg, I can't believe I haven't had brunch at Mesler until now. I moved to Hyde Park in the spring and walked past the place often and even had drinks there many times, but never ordered food. One of my childhood friends invited me to brunch because it was time for us to catch up and I suggested this place. We were blown away! All the menu offerings looked tasty but I chose a Bloody Mary, the shrimp and grits and the berry compote to go with my toast. My girl chose the raspberry julep and the lobster roll. Our food and drinks came out quickly, the presentation was beautiful and everything tasted amazing. The Mesler is a great addition to the burgeoning Hyde Park food scene and I will be back!

Cute & classy!Messler definitely falls within the "grown & sexy" genre of bars. It's located in Hyde Park, a personal fave Chicago neighborhood, and it fits the vube perfectly. The menu is generous, though there aren't many options for vegetarians, so be aware of that. The cocktail menu has some creative takes on the classics, and you can't go wrong with the house margaritas. If you're looking for a good date night spot, I'd definitely recommend a visit.

I came here after a concert for Chicago Restaurant Week, knowing nothing about it. This is in a swanky hotel which emerges out of the normal otherwise small scale street scene like a hip paradise. The interior decor is visually stunning and creative, with a lot of interesting and provocative art. The staff couldn't have been nicer, going out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our meal, which was quite good contemporary American.
