I found myself in this dive bar with my out of town guests.. drinking beer and watching the Dodgers game after strolling around Mill Avenue.. the bartender was very friendly and kept our drinks coming.. cold cheap beers and whiskey drinks They have a wall full of Red Bull drinks.. and crazy pitcher size fruity drinks with a can or bottle of something sticking out of it In the early evening the place was not very busy and perfect for enjoying a sporting event... I don't get to Mill Ave often but we definitely enjoyed our visit

Not impressedA friend wanted to hang here so i went. We had a nice booth until it got busy and somehow if someone buys something "expensive" you are forced to vacate the booth you're sitting in. I mean there was a bunch of other booths but somehow we just happened to be the ones bought out. Heck, its not like we werent just sitting there and not buying drinks as well. I mean if they need a special VIP section they should mark it off instead of just making paying customers vacate a booth. I found it rude. Not to mention their drinks are weak.

This is a great place to go in Downtown Tempe for cheap drinks and good dancing. Gets better during the later hours. Music is best on Friday and Saturday. Friendly staff. A must stop while walking down Mill Ave. Highly recommended.

No freaking clue why Zuma was so packed on a Tuesday when so many superior bars were open, but maybe they're just doing something right.Or maybe the loudest bar wins Mill Ave? Super loud music doesn't bother me, but this was Front-row-at-a-rock-concert loud. Seriously, like I-have-to-yell-in-the-bartender's-ear loud. A notch below that is where you want to be, thank you.So anyway, you know the bartenders are no good when you order 3 of the same drink, and they all have drastically different amounts of liquor in them. Get that shit on point. Also, why do you have the Guinness tap up, only to pop open a CAN when I order one? GTFO with that. The layout isn't crowd-friendly, and I saw quite a significantly older men cruising around trying too hard to fit in. I'm not your "bro" and I call it "increased efficiency", not "double fisting". Nothing about Zuma strikes me as special...well except for whoever does their marketing. They totally deserve a raise for making such a mediocre spot so popular.

So this place smells like kush and 10% of the people there were white. Now neither of those are a bad thing if you like them, just giving everyone a heads up.To put everything into context, I came here on a Saturday night. The strobe lights leaking out onto the street were beguiling. I was yelling at my friend, "LET'S GO THERE LET'S GO THERE!" Like moths to a source of light, we were taunted and pulled in. Once in, we were caught on a bug strip - it was smelly, dirty, scary, and uncomfortable. We tore ourselves off and outta there. Flew to Rooftop pretty fast.Given my metaphorical story, the dance floor was the entire place, which is a plus. BUT what good is a huge dance floor if you don't feel comfortable enough to dance there. For those that like details, this place was super packed, and there was a hip hop DJ.

This place has finally turned around. They got better security folks who are actually friendly and the bartenders are way better. They added a line of drinks featuring various red bull flavors and they are very potent - and delicious. The DJ who comes in now place vastly better music than before. I'm pleased to update my review from 1 to 4 stars to reflect their massive improvement over the past year.

Always a good chill turnt vibe, needs a little bit more hip hop /throwbacks due to the crowd it holds. Security guards are cool and don't harass you about making a extra $ as long as your tipping something at least worthy their time. Drinks are always on point. And Scott at the front door cool well rounded dude who shows love every time.
