Hubs and I had a great experience at this restaurant.When we arrived, Hubs was on a phone call so I went in ahead to check on the wait time. The hostess was super sweet and explained there was no room in the dining area due to reservations but there was plenty of seating in the bar and patio areas. Hubs and I took the bar area seating.Bartender #1 was very friendly with getting our drink and food orders, including a side of chips/salsa to start off our meals. She was very fast with getting our refills.The manager brought out our entrees and was very friendly, joking with us that there was too much chatting and too little chip eating. Hubs got the Santa Fe Enchiladas and I got the Mushroom Enchiladas. Both entrees tasted great! Hubs enjoyed the slight spicy kick in his entree and I loved the sauce on mine. Our drinks were consistently refilled by bartender #1 and bartender #2.After we left, Hubs realized he left his phone at the restaurant. I called in and the gentleman who picked up confirmed he found the phone and was very pleasant to speak with. He was quick to greet me at the door on my return to get the phone.Overall, everyone we spoke with were friendly and the food was great. We will definitely come back.

I've been here a few times for hh but not for brunch. So, we enter and notice a child in the kitchen. Yes, a child about ten years old, helping himself to anything he could find. My sister asked the manager if this was a buffet and he explained it is the chef's son who is regularly in the kitchen. This is a no-no for obvious health reasons. Yet, we stayed, at least for a minute.Waitress took our drink orders, provided us water (with mine in a glass cup with a huge chip) and then the wait began. After fifteen minutes and no waitress, we left. On the way out, saw the bartender, with earphones, hadn't even begun our drinks. The waitress, forgetting who we were, gave us a lovely goodbye greeting (as if we had received any food).NopeNope nope.And did I mention we were one of three tables in the entire place...

Went to dinner with my family and we had the worst experience. It took 25 minutes to be seated, 20 minutes to have the waiter come and take drink orders, the food took another hour and our drinks were forgotten. We don't get our drinks until we got our food. They must have been sitting at the bar, because they were watered down. The food was cold. Service was extremely slow. We had to go find the waiter to give us the check so we could leave. The only good thing about this evening was spending time with family. . Steaks is So overrated. Never again.

The bartender was horrible and this was the third time having him.Last time he went out to smoke and forgot to put our food in.This time we waited on sour cream and he brought it when the food was done. We told him we wanted to order entrées and he NEVER came back. We had to ask another server for more drinks. We had to literally stop him in order to pay our bill. Went across the street for dinner instead. We gave this place chance after chance. Service is the worse around, food is mediocre, and will not be giving this spot anymore chances.Stores remodeled, everything else not so much.

Z'Tejas has always been a favorite of ours however this las meal there was just terrible. Pretty sure this place has lost their mojo:( They did a remodel where they expanded their bar area. I understand why now because this place definitely is only somewhere I wanna go for drinks and maybe an app. We went for our big 25 year anniversary and I was super excited because this is where we always went for special days back in the day and we always loved it, but unfortunately this time not so much. I ordered the Gorgonzola with caramelized onion sauce steak with veggies and this one definitely miss the mark. Neither items were at all seasoned and were both totally bland. On top of that, the Gorgonzola on the steak seemed extremely old and they didn't even put caramelized onion sauce on the plate. Pretty sure they didn't even use a drop of salt or pepper to season the steak or vegetables. Plus the steak was a terrible cut with tons of fat and gristle. I could hardly eat any of it! It was like eating steak at a Denny's I didn't want to complain because we had a fantastic server, Marcileno, who was running around without any help. He told us they had understaffed that day, and he was doing his best to keep up with everything.. he was very attentive and though he suggested the steak, I don't believe that was his fault and it was definitely the chef. On top of that this place is supposed to be known for their wonderful very frozen margaritas and yet ours came out like wet slushy's. Sure they still tasted good, but just not what they used to be. My husband ordered the Diablo pasta. He said it was good, but he needed to spice it up with habaneros and add a lot of extra salt to season. Z'Tejas has has always been a staple for our family, but unfortunately, I think they're cutting some corners. Doubt we'll be back anytime soon after that horrendous meal.

Right from the get-go when I showed up, I was disappointed. The two large saguaro cacti are now gone. We ordered the Chambord margarita and it was OK at best. We also had the cheese dip which wasn't bad but the chips were below average. Service was pretty much terrible. It's nothing like the 2000's. Might be my last time here. Sadly

I have not been here in a long time. The last was years ago for pre-celebration birthday before going to the casino. The service was really good. The severs all seemed to care and help us. The interior seems different from my last visit here. I liked the layout of the place. It was nice and open. I got the beef barbacoa enchiladas. They were pretty good. We got the chips and salsas appetizer. The salsas were pretty good. I liked one in particular and will just ask for that one. If I am in the area for dinner I'll be back.

Service was friendly upon entry, during, and after! Our server did seem to forget about us though and the restaurant wasn't even busy. She was sweet. Just would hate to see it when it's busy cause she took a while to check up on us and refill our drinks. Food was alright! I would probably come back to try something else because the food we ordered was mediocre. Maybe if we tried a special dish that's known. It's a nice big open place. I like how they designed and decorated it. The booths offer a lot of room.

I love this place!!! I wish I would have stopped here, a long time ago. Now I know what I was missing..The Chambord margaritas a bartender's ... Their Happy Hour is really good the drinks are great. The food options are diverse, there is something for everyone.I love the Nachos/Tostados, Tacos, and fries are really tasty. The salsas accompanying the food are paired well.I would definitely love to go have brunch there in the near future.

Only two restaurants remain in the Phoenix area and this was such a treat. Happy Hour, entire restaurant, begins at 3pm. We enjoyed the chips/salsa (especially the green salsa) and the yummy cornbread. The Navajo Taco is a full plate of goodness on a puffed shell! The buffalo chicken strips had the sauce on them and I understood they did not, so will order something different next time. Followed the meal with the Ancho Fudge Pie, which is heavenly like eating warm fudge. My husband told the waiter he would be back for the taco lol. Just an overall great experience and can't wait to return.
