Ordered the chicken picatta and it was very bland and tough. Bread tasted stale. I don't know if they have fresh ingredients or not. I would not be going back or recommending this restaurant.I had dinner on Saturday December 14, 2024 at 9pm. The hostess took about 8 minutes to even come to the front and sit us. There was also another big party waiting to be greeted. The hostess never really greeted and seemed to be in a bad mood. My friend and I sat in the dining area as there was a live band in the bar area. She ordered the Penne Salmone and stated she enjoyed it. I ordered the Pollo Piccata and it tasted expired. We were eating the bread and saw specs of what looked like little mold on the bread. Our server was kept running in the back for long periods of time. It was late and was I unable to speak to a manager regarding my experience.

I had a great time here tonight!A friend invited me out to see an 80s cover band FlashPants here tonight and I'm so glad we came here!We came about an hour before the show started and got a table right next to where the band was playing, so that was really nice!This place was packed with people for dinner, so you know it's probably pretty good!Our server was great despite it being very busy but she took good care of us and I appreciated that.Bottles of wine here are very reasonably priced and my friend and I got a bottle of KJ Chardonnay and that worked out well with the mussels and veal we ordered.Dinner came with complimentary bread and for starters, we shared the mussels with taragon. Sauce was very tasty and mussels and greens very fresh.We shared the veal piccata entree and that was delicious with roasted potatoes and vegetables.What made this place really wonderful is the cover band FlashPants. I had an amazing time and danced the night away and I don't think I have had this much fun in a long long time! So many good songs by Bon Jovi, Guns and Roses, Billy Idol, Devo, Journey, etc. were played and I knew every song and could sing along but also be silly and dance with the band. The band was so much in their funky gym costumes and I was in stitches laughing, dancing, singing and was so happy!Thanks again Kim and Va Bene for making my Saturday night just perfect! I'll definitely come back again!

The ambiance was great, but the service was mid. When we arrived the server gave us the specials, but then he came back and wanted to go right to food orders. He didn't ask if we wanted drinks or appetizers. We ordered our food and as well as appetizers. We got the tomato soup, calamari fritti, and gamberoni con prosciutto for an appetizer. Half way through the soup we pulled a hair out. Our dinner was gnocchi Ala vodka, mussels, and the chicken Parmesan that was the special. The food lacked in flavor and I found myself wanting more Italian flavor to every dish we had. At the end of dinner the waiter again just brought the check and didn't ask if dessert was wanted or if we needed anything else. I will say that at 9pm a band started playing and they were really good. I would go back to listen to them but most likely not to eat.

I came here for large birthday dinner party and dishes were pre chosen and it was a buffet style. So I was not happy that I didn't get to pick the dishes I would have wanted to taste. Almost feel some what unfair to rate this place based on buffet style dinner menu. But that being said food still should have tasted pretty good. But nope.. I was wrong. We sat outside the patio due to large party. Staff was very attentive wanting to take drink orders but when it came to clearing off the table of used plates that was forgotten.Fried calamari, Caesar salad, bruchetta, Margherita pizza, mushroom pizza, and pesto chicken pizza for starters. Calamari and salad were pretty good. Bruchetta unfortunately was soggy but not too bad. Can't do anything about large order being premade.. So I expected to be little soggy. Margherita and mushroom pizza was very disappointing. Marinara sauce on the pizza reminded me of Ragu sauce. Pesto pizza did not look appetizing so I didn't even try.They also had 2 different types of pasta (one with meat and one vegitarian) , chicken with asparagus and Mediterranean style chicken, grilled vegetables. Pasta with meat was not bad. Vegitarian pasta was pretty bad. Lacked in flavor. Both of the chicken were pretty dry and over cooked. Asparagus chicken tasted like water down cream sauce. I have no idea what flavor the Mediterranean style was suppose to taste like but it was also very blend. The grilled vegetables... Well they were grilled alright.. I think someone forgot to add seasoning. Because it tasted like straight up grilled and that is it.If the food were more good then bad I would have loved to come back and try other dishes.. But from what I ate in front of me. I definitely would not come back here. Maybe some of the other fresh made dish might taste good but from what I ate, I was thinking I would had better luck at Olive Garden...

We scheduled reservations at La Bene before a show, and from the service to the food, and the ambiance of the restaurant, I would give it five stars. My husband had a seafood pasta with salad, while I had soup and salad. We look forward to retuning to La Bene in January when attending another show nearby. We live in Goodyear.

Hours posted online does not reflect kitchen hours. Stopped by at 9:40 pm for dinner when the hours showed closed at 12:30 am. We stood at the front for ten minutes without seeing a soul and then had to go inside and flag a waitress down and ask if we could be seated. She was clearly very busy and she was very kind but informed us the kitchen was closed for the night. I understand things happen and they were probably having an off night, but the two things combined was a very unfortunate first experience.
