This is my first time experiencing Under Tow...The minute I walked in I felt like I had time traveled to a secluded, exclusive island bar in the tropics. The detail in the decor with the weathered wood is incredible. The netting, painted back drops, lighting and sound effects take it to another level. The lighting is very dim, it took me a couple of minutes to adjust... but it gives such an intimate ambiance. There are some surprises too! Be prepared for a storm! What an experience!!! The service is top notch 6 Stars. Al and his team are amazing. The attentiveness is superb... and as equally superb are their cocktails! The cocktails are truly an experience. The presentation, garnishing, layering of flavors and the complexity. A Mixologist's kiss. The drinks are very well balanced and not sweet or syrupy. The first two cocktails on deck, were the Lei Lani Volcano and Champagne Punch. In addition to the fabulous cocktails we were given one of their shareable snacks called the Trio. The Trio consists of their house seasoned corn nuts, chunky cut manchego cheese, and La Española Chorizo Pamplona. These salty bites pair perfectly with their slightly sweet crafted cocktails. For those, that do not imbibe, there are some drink options.I have always hesitated to try a Blue Hawaiian, I am not a fan of syrupy sweet drinks. I couldn't say no, especially since our gracious Host Al was personally making them, for the entire group. I was truly impressed with his attention to details with the 40+ cocktails he was creating... watch out Lauren, Libby & KeiferTheir Blue Hawaiian is wonderful, well balanced flavors, aromatic, and not too sweet.I highly recommend that you experience Under Tow, because it is an experience. If you're looking to celebrate a special occasion, treat yourself, or looking to impress your out of town guests... this is the spot.

This was my first time. They were kind enough to seat us before our reservation. The best way that I can describe the ambiance is the Tiki Room (from Disney) with port holes so it makes you feel like you are on a ship.Bar stools aren't my jam. The bar does offer non-alcoholic options. My wife got "The Green Flash" and I got the "Anchors Up". I like the metal straws. The venue is small but very well themed. Worth checking out.

Unfortunately my husband and I will not be returning to this location due to the unkind service we received by the hostess (a young g woman with long brown hair and piercings). The drinks were amazing and the bar tender was great however our experience was completely ruined by the woman at the front who checked us in. First I set up a reservation on the website and could only book for 6 people and had to send an email for a bigger party which I did. I never heard back from the company to see if they could reserve a spot for 9 people for my husband's 30th birthday party. I booked a week in advanced and also called daily, and left messages with a call back number and never heard back. Eventually we ended up booking another reservation for an additional 3 people because I never heard back from booking in hopes we could sit together if we talked to them. When we got to undertow we went an hour early to explain the situation to see if they could seat us together and the hostess who was working so rudely made me feel unwanted by the company like I was putting her out to see if we could make this accommodation possible since I could not get ahold of the location. I sat out in the waiting area for a half hour for her to tell me rudely that they could seat us together but our reservation would be pushed back to a later time. I greatly appreciated her but she snapped back at me multiple times saying that is was my fault and that she called me 3 times to make the original reservation of 9 people possible. I honestly did not receive any missed calls from undertow. Anyways I was so happy they could seat us together and was going to let go of how rude the hostess was to me and my husband for his birthday. Now comes our seating time that we waited for. We show up at our designated time and all our friends were checked in. The hostess checked our ID's and had some troubles with my ID. Instead of being flexible about our situation the hostess continued to be rude to primarily myself and made me cry in the doorway with how unprofessional she was behaving and how condescending she was towards me. At one point I just told my husband to go celebrate his 30th with our friends and I would wait outside the restaurant. Eventually I asked one last time for the hostess to let me celebrate with my husband and she let me join our party that I made reservations for. We had a nice time during our stay with the bartender service but because of the situation that followed with the hostess we will NOT be returning to this location and would NOT recommend this establishment to our friends and family. I was so disappointed with how rude and full out mean the lady was choosing to be towards a friendly group of friends wanting to enjoy a friend's 30th birthday. I really wish she didn't ruin the evening and hope that management has a conversation with their staff about their professionalism with customers.

The anticipation to enter the Undertow, while waiting outside and listening to the " story telling", makes you feel like you are waiting to ride an attraction at Disneyland! What a wonderful immersive experience! The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable when it came to drink recommendations. A must try for sure! Great place for date night or hanging out with friends

Cool speakeasy spot, small little spot with a wait list. The holiday menu is super cute, Nico our bartender is knowledgeable and fun. Parking is a bit cramped but there is valet...about 15 barstool seating and 8 small tables. The prices are a bit higher than other speakeasies ($17-$19), there are no hidden bookshelves to a door, good music is blasting, dark with submarine windows and sound effects. It's a cute little spot overall.

This place is hilarious! We walked past it before but never went in and also didn't check out Yelp. Since the wait for a nearby establishment was going to take an hour we decided to go to undertow for before dinner drinks. From the second you walk in you will be surprised throughout your time there and you will continue to laugh. It's dark, decorated, and has some surprises in store. The drinks are expensive, they have lots of options, and great staff. I would recommend for those that want a fun experience.

Their Anchors Up! mocktail is possibly the best mocktail I've ever had, it had non-alcoholic Jamaican Rum, london gin, chartreuse, strawberry, coconut, ancho chile, lemon, pineapple, and buttered honey. The last time I was at UnderTow was at the original Phoenix location in 2017 and they had storms with sounds and lights, and cargo boxes throughout, though this location does not have that it still has the portholes, and actually has more seating to accommodate large parties. What I really liked about this location was the friendly service and that we were walk-ins on a Sunday afternoon. They were able to immediately seat us. There is parking nearby, and its a walk away from the Agritopia Farm & Barnone.

This trip to UnderTow was my second visit. My first time was at the Arcadia location and I ended up giving 4 stars there, really only due to the fact that I didn't enjoy the 2- top seating near the port holes. This time I had a reservation for 5 people and I knew that would mean we would get a booth to fit everyone. The experience was 5 stars all the way! Each cocktail we ordered was delicious and served up in a fun and unique tiki presentations. Both locations have the same set up for the most part. Appeared to be about the same size as well? There are bar seats, 2 tops surrounding the bar area, and a couple of booths. Each location gives you the experience of being on a floating pirate ship, enjoying the finest and solid strength tiki drinks. The menus appeared to differ and that could be due to visiting at different time of year. Service was polite, prompt, and my only critique is that I felt a bit rushed in the reservation window with 5 people, whereas with 2 people the time limited is no problem. Either way, UnderTow is a unique Tiki experience with fantastic drinks and I would recommend it for sure.

Great ambiance. Drinks were generous and the alcohol was strong. The air conditioner works well, and is somewhat humid from the mist of the ambiance, but in a good way. Time is limited to 90min reservations and you get great service while you are there. If you have friends or family coming from out of town, it would be a great place to visit. 4 stars instead of 5 because me and my friend are not regular drink people so we weren't sure what to order and staff that night was busy and did not have drinks to recommend. Overall great experience though!
