Photos definitely make this place look bigger but it was super nice to visit the Rose Garden at MCC. Lots of different assortments of flowers and roses, definitely a serene place. Pretty small but very pretty and well manicured. Got some good photos taken here. Yes, it's off of a major road and on a college campus, but if you close your eyes you can pretend you're somewhere more tropical and not the scorching hell that is Arizona.

A rose is a rose is a rose.... and really is a rose at the rose garden at MCC! The garden is lovely and very well maintained. There were several varieties of roses that were blooming when we walked around here, and the grounds are very peaceful and pleasant. I know someone who is a volunteer here and she always speaks proudly and fondly of her efforts to make this garden a wonderful place to stop and smell the roses. You can tell everyone that takes care of this garden really cares for the rose bushes here. Details:- Nearly 9000 rose bushes here!- Largest public rose garden in the desert Southwest- Roses are maintained by volunteers- Tours available

My son knows me so well. He brought me here Sunday afternoon after we spent the entire day together. The night before had been a little rough and he knew I needed some beauty.I really enjoyed walking through, smelling roses, and seeing the very vivid colors. This is a wonderful spot to sit and reflect, relax, or stroll. It is very serene, even being on a pretty busy road. I have driven by numerous times over the years and never knew how beautiful it was.Being a Sunday, we were able to park very close to the Garden and didn't have to worry about the spot we were in. It was pretty late in the day as well, we didn't have any issues at all. I would highly recommend checking out this very accessible hidden gem!Roses are my favorite flowers, I have them forever imprinted on my arm and leg! Not all of the roses were in bloom, so I am really looking forward to returning this spring!

Such a lovely oasis! Came here today and enjoyed seeing and smelling all the beautiful roses! So much variety, color and sizes. Plenty of shade and nice green grass. A nice spot to enjoy lunch I would say. I deducted a star due to the heavy irrigation that was present when I arrived around 3:30pm. It was flooded in a few areas and restricted access. But I was still able to see most of it and not a deal breaker, I'll definitely revisit.

I've watched this garden grow over the years from a small garden to something like a rose forest. Have attended the Arizona Rare Fruit Growers events on a couple occasions and had the pleasure to meander through several varieties of floribundas, climbers, grandiflora, and more.Pretty, colorful varieties, various different sizes of blooms and fragrance. Even the shades of green of the leaf and plant varied. The thorns are the bad and some species have a few hundred on each stem. And some unique trees are there too. Will try to remember to share pictures of them next time. So on Saturday morning my Maricopa County Master Gardener Interns were here with me putting in some volunteer hours, helping to dead head. The monsoon season hit hard just days prior and the damage was quite obvious maybe a mile South of the college. Here, the recent rains had stirred up the spurge and nutsedge and strong winds blew in debris which caused the bed to appear less than ideal. We applied the instructions given and promptly went to work removing spent flowers, dead canes, pulling tall weeds, and picking up the trash. We were just about to dead head one particular bed, the test garden, before we were encouraged to work on MCC's 50th Anniversary bed.Had the pleasure of meeting Mike, Bud, and Lee Roy on this particular morning. I was surprised to learn this site is one of 26 test gardens nationwide. And it is a public garden and requires no fee to visit.Volunteering is encouraged and details can be found on their website. The Dead Headers group and other volunteers meet on the 3rd Saturday of each month to assist with upkeep and maintenance. Start time may vary depending on season. And the Dead Headers crew will happily supply you with the pruners, a bucket, and guidance. I do believethey'll even loan you a pair of gloves if necessary.I encourage you to visit and volunteer. You'll appreciate it even more when you see how your care has helped to produce more fragrant, beautiful blooms.

Absolutely stunning photo stop if you need to take a photoshoot! The flowers were beautiful and well groomed, there was plenty of space and room for multiple tourists so you didn't feel cramped. The grass was fresh and watered. Beautiful atmosphere 10/10 recommend

If ever in the neighborhood, this is a MUST to check out if you like flowers. It is amazing to see soooooo many roses in one place! I'm not sure what the association is with the college but it makes for a very beautiful campus entrance! Roses for days!
