The Pleasing Palate

Cool little diner in the area, a small seated counter with a handful of booths and tables. This eatery is a freestanding part of the Pleasant Valley Inn complex. I ate here a couple differents days and at different times and each time my meal was made to order with care and thought. The owner is hands on and she will most likely be the one preparing your food. Its obvious, at least to me, that Marla cares about her customers and the foods she serves. The meal I enjoyed here was prepared fresh and made to order. Good comfort food is here and if you happen to see it open, worth a stop and support. The restaurant runs short week hours and is not open every day. But when she is open the food is consistent and good.4 Stars a solid little eatery with good comfort food00867

I was out on a day drive romping around a few backroads and we passed through Young on our journey. We stopped at The Pleasing Palate to grab lunch and it was well worth the stop. There was a small seating area outside which was pet friendly. That spot was taken by a family so we ate inside at the bar top. The place was clean and smelled fresh. We were greeted promptly when we came in and we were attended to quickly. After looking over the menu we ordered and our food came up very quickly thereafter. It was fresh and very tasty! I had a chicken bacon avocado sandwich with fries and my travel partner had a burger and fries. Both of us were pleased. Turns out the woman (Marla) that greeted us and served us was also the owner of the restaurant and the motel. She was extremely personable and it was a pleasure to chat with her. I definitely would recommend this little gem if you are traveling through or camping nearby! Quality service and food .... you can't beat that!

If your in Young an you don't stop by Marla's Place ak The Pleasing Palate you are missing out. Missing out on great food, absolutely the Best service and not to mention Mairla ( she is a hoot!). I had the Steak & Egg, with toast & Hash browns, perfect job on the steak by the way. By the way, not that week Coffee you get at most restaurants trying to save a buck by diluting, OMG great cup of Joe.

Me and my friends went fishing out in Young and this is basically the only restaurant in this extremely small town. And I will say, their burgers and onion rings are fantastic. I've only been there once, but I will definitely go there again next time I'm up there. So if anyone is in Young, AZ for any reason, this is a great place to eat!

A fun local cafe with great onion rings (seriously dont miss them). The fish tacos were good and fresh tasting but missing that zing of most (normally a sauce - it was on the slaw but not enough). It is just homey and good food. Worth it. On an aside, the waitress was kind and constantly smiling. Makes you feel welcome.

Great little small town breakfast joint with friendly staff & good salsa. Great breakfast burritos.

If I could leave negative stars, I would. I was passing through to visit my husband Kieth, who is doing some rancher work. He told me to avoid this place, but I was starving and there were literally no other nearby options.(which is probably the only reason The Pleasing Palate survives.) My table was extremely sticky, there was this terribly rude lady working, and my food tastes like they pulled it out of the dumpster. If you are driving through the area, keep doing just that. Don't waste your money on the wretched scum that these unfriendly people call food.

Excellent food!!! Great service!!! I've eaten here at least a dozen times and have never been disappointed!
