The Bird Box

I love visiting food trucks and small mom-and-pop restaurants. And so when I saw that The Bird Box was open at the same time that I was hungry, I was compelled to visit.The "parking lot" is tiny, enough for maybe 3 or 4 vehicles. But I found a spot, and walked up to the trailer.Everyone who worked there, from the woman taking the order to the team preparing the food, is extremely hospitable. Very respectful, very helpful, very accommodating.I've heard that some orders can take a while to fill, so I asked what could be ready quickly, and they recommended the brisket. So I got that, some beans, and greens. I was hungry, and wanted to enjoy the food right then and there, so I started eating it right there in my Toyota Solara convertible. The meat was cooked well, and pretty sloppy with BBQ sauce -- which I confess that I really like. The baked beans had peaches as one of the ingredients! I've never had peaches in my beans, but when I make them at home, from now on ... they'll have peaches. The greens were just about perfect, though I did find a few bones. It happens. I wasn't upset.So would I go back? Yup. The thing is, since I visited, I bought my own smoker. I haven't produced anything as good as The Bird Box yet, so until I do, I'll be giving them more of my business.

My wife and I were passing through Casa Grande on our extended anniversary vacation. As we were driving into town, she was reading Google reviews trying to find us some dinner. She came across the reviews for The Bird Box. Conveniently, it was not far from the hotel we were staying in so we decided to give it a try. As we pulled up I was a little worried if I'm honest. There was no one there. Based on the reviews I expected the place to be hopping. We walked right up to the window and chatted with the owner (sorry, didn't catch his name) who was super friendly and personable. We placed our order and he went to work. I got the brisket and shrimp loaded fries and wanted to try some of the wings (I looove a good wing) so I ordered 6 of the honey garlic. My wife ordered the catfish nugget plate. The food was ready relatively quickly, probably because we were his only customers at the time. The catfish was really good! Best I ever had? No, but really close. I mean REALLY close. The hush puppies and fries were excellent as well. The wings were fantastic! Large, meaty, juicy wings that were well cooked but not over cooked, as chicken should be. The honey garlic sauce was probably some of the best I've had. The loaded fries? They were something else! Maybe fries loaded with tender, flavorful brisket and honey garlic shrimp is a normal thing where you're from. They definitely are not where I live. They were lightly seasoned with some ghost pepper seasoning that gave the perfect amount of heat as well. Casa Grande, y'all are sleeping on this food truck! There is absolutely no reason why there shouldn't be people lined up down the block.

Loved!! Cute little food truck, some of my favorite places to try. You can tell the people really enjoy what they do and care about their customers. They were so friendly and talkative and just genuinely cheerful to be there. The food was DELICIOUS. I got wings and chicken tenders and fries and macaroni. The smoke on the macaroni isn't something I'm usually a fan of but it was perfect. Thank you guys!

The wings are on point. The service is exceptional. The price point is fierce. What are you waiting for?I love me some wings but not when you can only taste vinegar and nothing else. I picked up a dozen extra hot and my only disappointment....I didn't get 2 dozen. That just means I'll definitely be back!

I saw the trailer on the side, and I thought it was worth a shot. I am so glad I did. I got the loaded fries. It is fries covered with chopped brisket, shrimp, and a spicy honey garlic sauce. They were amazing and so was the price. The only thing disappointing is that I live 35 miles away from it.

Absolutely fantastic chicken wings! I've had the rest, these are the BEST! Plump and juicy wings cooked perfectly. The gentleman working the food truck is kind and friendly. He appreciates you and your business.

Great experience from start to finish. Customer service was excellent, staff friendly, and some of the best wings I've ever had! Got both the honey garlic and lemon pepper wet. Absolutely blown away by how good these were. Definitely going back to try the brisket
