I started with Susan at Freestone Recreation Center in Gilbert approximately 18 months ago following double knee replacements. I was in need of full body conditioning due to inactivity prior to knee surgery. Susan took into consideration my individual needs and designed a program that has resulted in total body transformation that has improved my overall strength, balance, mobility and cardio output. Susan is intuitive in knowing where to start and when to progress in a manor that resulted in modification and progress void of any injury. She also offers diet counseling and suggests routines that I am capable of doing on my own to enhance my progress. If I could give her a rating of 10 stars instead of 5, she definitely deserves the higher rating! Carol L

Time spent training with Sue is paradigm shifting. She has the skills not only to teach the practical aspects of exercise, but also the soft skills to help you shift your mindset.I came to Sue knowing very little about exercise and, frankly, with a hatred toward exercise. After a decade of poor eating habits and a sedentary desk-lifestyle she helped me change my mindset about my health. She meets you where you are at and flexes to meet your most pressing needs. She helped me with nutrition guidance and meal planning as well. I never feel embarrassed to ask the simplest of questions.Helping me understand the 'why' and the benefits of various movements has increased my motivation to actually do them, and reap the benefits. She inspires and motivates long term behavior change through her gentle and practical approach. Sue has helped me come to a place where I am increasingly fit, I (dare I say) enjoy (some) exercise and my eating has been revolutionized. All of this change has been at a pace which is embraceable - never overwhelming.Sue is the coach I needed in my corner to help me create a new, healthier life.

I first met Sue Groves, Personal Trainer, in July 2009, when I joined the Freestone Recreation Center in Gilbert, Arizona. I had never before had a personal trainer, but I felt like I needed one to show me how to properly use the equipment. I had some medical issues -- 40 pounds over-weight, hips and knees ached, back hurt, and a stent in my heart. I had resigned myself that I would never lose my unwanted weight. That year I had turned 70 and every year my aches and pains were getting worse. From the time I first met Sue, I was very impressed. I registered at the Recreation Center on a Monday morning, that afternoon Sue called me and the next day we met. Wow, I could not back out from that quick response. Sue has a wonderful personality -- very warm, friendly, up-beat, positive, and very encouraging. She is very knowledgeable about diet and exercise. Sue is interested in all her clients. I have seen her work with people of all ages from the high school student to the senior citizen. She works with those with physical challenges. She designs each client's program according to that person's needs. When Sue works with a client she devotes 100% of her attention to that person. I have heard nothing but positive comments about Sue from others who work out at Freestone Recreation Center.I look forward to my time with Sue. We meet once a week. She writes out my exercise program for the days I do not see her. Periodically she changes my program so that my muscles will continue to respond, and I will not get bored. Should I have any question before my next session with her, I e-mail my question to her, and she immediately responds. Whenever she changes an exercise or my routine I am to e-mail her as to how it felt and whether it was doable. She always wants to know how my exercises are going. And yes, it was true that before I met Sue, I really had given up ever losing weight. However, by the end of that first month of working with Sue, I lost 4 pounds. I could not believe it. For 40 weeks I continued to lose at a wonderful, safe and sustainable rate of one pound per week for a total of 40 pounds lost. Within five months of meeting Sue, my back, knees, and hips stopped hurting and that was without any surgery or medications. I have continuously worked with Sue since 2009. Today I am stronger and feel younger that what I did in 2009. I feel great. I lead a very active life and am able to do so much more than I ever could before. My cardiologist has said that he wishes his other patients would exercise like I do. Some of my friends have said to me that they can't afford to have a personal trainer. I say that I cannot afford not to have a personal trainer. Signing up with Sue Groves at Freestone Recreation Center has been one of the best decision I have ever made. My adult children have said, "Mom, don't you ever quit working with Sue." They see and realize the benefits I have received from my exercise program. I highly recommend anyone to work with Sue Groves, Personal Trainer. She is a true professional in her field.Eloise Annis
