Straight To the Plate Catering

Former special moments is now straight to the plate. Working on the Hamilton crew at Asu Gammage and they are serving subpar food. They serve potato salad that was uncooked. They serve chicken that was boiled apparently no other way to describe how it looked. Their staff was unpleasant to communicate with. I asked for barbecue sauce because the container that had it was clearly out and I received no response. After i tasted the chicken the barbecue sauce would not have helped. I'm sure Asu Gammage pays for service that straight to the plate does not deliver!

I just used Straight to the Plate for my event and loved the experience. From the start, their quote was very thorough and easy to understand. The food was delicious and their service was outstanding. I'd definitely use this company again. Pro tip: the meatballs were a total fan-favorite!

Loved our experience and food from Straight to the Plate Catering! We hired them to cater our law firm Thanksgiving meal at the office because of COVID concerns about eating out or brining in homemade food. They were easy to work with, the food and service was great, and the prices were reasonable. We will be using them again!

I'm the director of a local dog rescue, and we love Sue! Each year we have a big fundraiser event, and for the past two years, Sue has been so generous and has donated a dish that fed about 100 people! And I will attest that the dishes tasted absolutely amazing! We have contacted several caterers each year and asked for help but Sue is the one and only caterer who was kind enough to give back to her community and help homeless dogs. Thank you sooo much, Sue with Straight to the Plate! You don't know how much we appreciate you. Rotten Rottie Rescue LOVES you!!

This is the lowest rating I've ever given on yelp, but I would not use them again or recommend them.The GOOD: the food was pretty good (probably 3-4 stars in itself) especially for a large group, but nothing that blew me away. The staff at the event was lovely and helpful.The BAD: basically the management. The conflict that I ran into was over wanting to bring in home baked cookies. I had discussed it with the venue previously but when we went to our tasting we were told by Straight to the Plate that the venue may have problems with this. On discussion with the venue it was in fact Straight to the Plate that had an issue with it. The venue apologized for not pre-approving this with the caterer, so I have no ill will there as people make mistakes. What followed was a back and forth with the caterer via the venue to attempt to resolve this. Mostly this included odd insurance requests such as a high insurance policy and requesting to be on the policy AND have the policy include a waiver of subrogation. Ultimately we utilized a baker who could sell commercially, and then they requested a copy of the baker's license within a week of the wedding. Overall, I think I would feel differently if I felt like Straight to the Plate had been straightforward with me from the beginning and dealt with me directly. When you have a wedding coming up you want to have faith in your caterer and I didn't have that.

I had the pleasure of working with Sue and Straight to the Plate for a dance my nonprofit GLSEN Phoenix was hosting for high school-aged youth. She came in and saved the day when our previous catering option fell through at the last minute. And she provided a menu perfect for the event and age-group: a taco station and pita and hummus. I especially appreciated the thoughtfulness of the vegetarian option. Overall the food was delicious and the kids loved it! Sue was great to work with, super communicative and just very supportive of our event and the work we do. Looking forward to working with her again. :)

We had Straight to the Plate cater our wedding rehearsal dinner for around 30 people at our home. They were excellent about handling dietary restrictions - I have a severe food allergy to milk and eggs and we also had vegetarian and gluten free guests. They worked with me to build a menu that would accommodate all guests' dietary needs which was easy given their extensive list of menu options.On the day of the event they were on time and incredibly professional. The buffet setup was smooth and included light decorations which elevated the look of the buffet. During the meal they even helped bus tables, which was above and beyond what I expected. The food was excellent, everyone was satisfied and we had enough for most people to have seconds with plenty of leftovers.I had a great experience with straight to the plate and I'd absolutely book them again.

We had the pleasure of using Straight to the Plate catering for a house warming party that we held when we moved to Apache Junction. On relatively short notice Beth and her team put together a "Drop Off Service" option that was both delicious and easy for us to use. Our guests enjoyed the selection of appetizers and we enjoyed the ease of serving and clean-up! Our new neighbors gave us kudos for raising the bar on the neighborhood events! If I could give STTP Catering a 6 I would. Easy to work with, they helped set up a menu for our family Thanksgiving at the house that was delicious. We went family-style, and there was so.much.food. Don't overlook the cornbread stuffing or the sweet potato casserole, most of our guests went back for seconds of those. They set everything up, were on-time, courteous and organized, and everyone really enjoyed it all. LOVED it.
