My favorite chocolates, ever! I used to get their truffles every weekend at the farmer's market. They are the friendliest vendors, always offering samples and great about bundling discounts (ie two four packs of different flavors, but they would only charge the price of a single 8 ct, so it was really fun and easy to be able to try a bunch of flavors over time). Heads up if you are local, I would order online in advance because they frequently sell out. I will always make an effort to pick some of these up whenever I am back in town!

I'm a chocolate snob and have tasted hundreds of bars. I discovered Stone Grindz a few months ago and am hooked. It's some of the best tasting, most unique flavor combinations I've seen. I typically buy a variety of chocolate bars from companies across the world, and it's not too often that I re-order from the same vendor. I've broken that pattern and ordered from Stone Grindz directly because I appreciate their chocolate so much. I was also shocked how good the customer service is, when they made an accidental shipment to me and offered to comp the entire thing. Just pure class. Do yourself a favor and try this chocolate.

PROS- Bean to bar- Ship on time, and products packed accordingly for the AZ heatCONS- Very limited selection -- Only dark chocolate bars and "shiny" bon-bons in a box- Expensive for what they offer- Many other chocolatiers nationwide with greater variety, and equal/superior quality- Definitely an uber-liberal company

Wow! I've eaten a lot of Chocolate in my life but never anything like Stone Grindz. I read about Stone Grindz winning a international award and wanted to try their chocolate. They don't have a store front, so I thought it would be a challenge, but through their website, I discovered the Whole Foods near my house carries their chocolate. Sure enough, I found Stone Grindz on the shelf and bought two bars for my husband and my Christmas stockings--the Ucayali River, Peru and a Cappuccino. It seemed a bit pricey-around $8 for 2 oz of Chocolate. But then I tried the Ucayali River bar. It's described as "Our most popular single-origin chocolate bar. Winner of the coveted gold medal at the International Chocolate Awards blind tasting in Florence, Italy." They say it has "notes of mocha, cedar, dark cherry, anise." To say I didn't know chocolate could taste like this is an understatement. It's like a glass of really good wine that takes you on a journey from start to finish. The flavor of this chocolate is rich and complex with red berries on the finish. Worth every penny and absolutely going on my best of Arizona list:)

Stone Grindz is such a hidden gem in Arizona's chocolate scene. Part of this no doubt is because they don't really have a retail space. They do pop up at area farmers markets in the cooler months, but they don't partner with many retail/restaurant groups to stock their AWESOME fine chocolate. Honestly, I wish the reps they had at the farmers markets were better because most people discovering Stone Grindz for the first time have no idea that this is considered world-class chocolate.I learned about them a couple of years ago in the local media. I read an article about how the owners basically had no background in chocolate-making, kind of fell into it, and are now internationally celebrated. In 2016, after years of hard work and determination, Stone Grindz Chocolate was a finalist at the Good Food Awards in San Francisco. Although they didn't win that first year, they returned a year later in 2017, with much different results. Stone Grindz won a Good Food Award and not one, not two, not three... but four International Chocolate Awards. The following year, they won another Good Food Award and a whopping five International Chocolate Awards, including a Top Three at the World Competition in Italy. Finally, in 2019, Stone Grindz won their third Good Food Award, along with an incredible ten International Chocolate Awards, this time including two Gold Medals at the World Competition in Italy for their Ucayali River, Peru and Suntory Whiskey & Asian Pear Caramels, which were essentially named the best chocolates in the world in their respective categories. And the rest is history! As you can see from their website, they have a number of different products on offer. For myself, I prefer the truffles over the bars. The bars are good but the truffles are so unique that I am always driven to order them. The Suntory Whiskey & Asian Pear Caramels really are divine. More than the taste, they're just photogenic. These are perfect gifts around the holidays! As you can imagine, supplies are limited and you never know what will be in stock. If you are planning something as a gift, I would recommend ordering as far as in advance as possible. Nationwide shipping is available (ice packs!) and they used to offer local delivery in the Scottsdale area if you spent a certain amount. Given how busy they get, I am not sure what the offer is currently.Stone Grindz Chocolate is not cheap but is money well spent for a local product that has been recognized multiple times on the international stage.

So this is one of my must stops at the Saturday Farmers Market at Central and Bethany Home. These bars are smooth as silk, with elegant flavor combinations (my favorite being the milk chocolate crystallized ginger), and dairy and non dairy truffles (the best lately being the rose pistachio and the asian pear whisky). I have honestly not had a bad buy from this place. It's simply top notch chocolate. It's absolutely worth the buy for award winning local chocolate.

This is the best chocolate I have ever had, bar none! This small company really cares about making a truly wonderful chocolate, and all of their creative flavors are great! My favorite is Wild Bolivia, a World Competition Silver Award Winner! It is every bit amazing as it is unique, mild, and lovely. Starting at local Farmer's Markets, I see them doing big things in the future! This is an amazing gem of a company, and I can recommend their wonderful chocolate with complete confidence that everyone will fall in love with it as much as I have!
