Recommend: Yesss!!!Service: patient, knowledgeable, and very kind. Our sever/cashier went above and beyond. Ambience: cute place but still small. Food: Food and flavor was great. They got some ingredients I never tried before and they're fun to try. Details: this place offers like a hot pot style. But you pick up ur ingredients you want and add it to a bowl. Then they weigh ur food and u choose your broth and spice level. The value of the price isn't bad at all. There is even a sauce station where you can make your sauce. The Cashier/server was very helpful and explained everything to my bf and I on how it works. The server was kind and very sweet. She gave us a milk drink just because we had a bit of a wait, but it wasn't even too long. And it was a nice gesture she did.

Saw this place on Instagram and I knew I had to try it for dinner. The experience was 10/10. We could build our own dishes, the prices are affordable and the portions are huge. We asked for recommendations from the server and we got a soup style mala tang, a stir fry mala tang and ttbokki(probably spelled wrong). We had food for 2 days after coming in. The only thing I can say is that we got level 2 on everything but it felt more like a 7 at a regular Chinese place or Thai place. We spoke to other people next to us and they were saying the same. If you really like your mouth to be numbed like mala is supposed to, level 2 is perfect! Service was great and place was cute

Tried this for the first time. Chose the Rose Mala flavor because it looked creamy. For protein, I chose beef and imitation crab sticks. For veggies, I chose baby corn, bamboo, cabbage, bean curd skin and different kinds of mushrooms. Lastly I added flat wide noodles. Initially, it tasted pretty good. I liked the spice level but don't really like the numbing peppercorn. After a few bites, I felt a bit nauseous. Not because the food was bad or spoiled but more because of the rose flavor. I don't think the flavor was for me. The togo tray came out to 1.24 lbs and the total was $21.38. I felt it was little overpriced for the amount you get. Not sure if I would be back but if I do, I would get a different flavor

This place is incredibly underrated and probably the only malatang place in all of Arizona (that I know of..). The food is fresh and every order is made to your own preference. I would say the prices are fair, you pay for what you grab. My malatang was $20 and I had leftovers for another 2 meals after. The numbing spice is a nice touch but would be hard to consume for people who aren't used to it. It coats your mouth/throat and feels like the spice is attacking your tastebuds. Fret not! It's normal. I liked the choices they had for veggies and seafood but I would like more options for tofu and meats. I didn't really like the cut of meats they provided and I would love for them to add thinly sliced brisket to make the malatang more authentic. Different types of tofu would also be nice. This is just wishful thinking though and I am still satisfied with what I received.

* Mala - a spicy and numbing seasoning made from sichuan peppercorn and chili* Sorimmara hails from Korea and is one of only two locations (the other behind in New York) in the US. Located inside 99 ranch in the food court, it replaced the ol Korean bbq chicken restaurant...* $16.99 per pound for the malas except for the rose mala which is $18.99* You choose your ingredients, dump it into your plastic bowl, place it on the scale and tell the cashier which of the four sauces you want - malatang, mala xianguo, rose mala xianguo (cream sauce) and black mala xianguo (similar to jajangmyeon black bean sauce). As well as the spice level and if you want it as a soup or stir fry. Wondering if that plastic bowl adds a $1 to the price. Lols My two friends and I split the rose mala, medium spice as a stirfry and we enjoyed it! Not too spicy, the tongue tingling was tolerable. Flavor was good! For 2.28 pounds at $18.99 per pound, that was about $14 for each of us, which is reasonable. I liked the variety of fish cakes, noodles, meat and veggies they had and there was even a few I've never tried before so that was fun. They also offer rice dishes, tteokbokki and guabaorous. The food is served in to go containers so easy to take to go...Since it's opening week, the creamy jumbo shrimp is half off until 4/7. We tried the 7 piece that is $17.99 but down to $9, which is more reasonable. It was yummy but I think $17.99 is too pricey for that. I'm not a fan of these weigh and pay kind of places because I can get carried away dumping ingredients into a bowl and walk away paying like $50.Lols But the ladies working here were helpful and I enjoyed the food so I would go back. I'd like to try the mala and black mala...

Walked in Friday evening no wait at all. Server was very nice and eager to walk me through the process. You literally just walk up grab a container and start loading up on whatever you want - pretty interesting experience as there's no need to wait too long from start to finish if you know what you want. So it's $17 for a lb and you have to get a lb minimum. You have a variety of options to choose from - pork, beef, lamb, shrimp. There's some various fish balls, lotus root, and more. A good bit of veggie choices and mushrooms options. I loaded up my bowl with primarily enoki, oyster, and other mushrooms since I really like that along with beef, lamb, and some shrimp. I finished it out with like cilantro, scallions, onion, and some bok choy. I forgot to add noodles so don't forget you have to add that yourself. If they run out of anything you want you just tell the cashier and they'll get you some more. After that, you place your container on the scale and pay for the lb and anything over. So I got 1.4lbs and my girlfriend got a lb exact. In the pictures you can probably tell which ones mine. We both chose Malatang and chose Spicy as our heat level which I would say you should get for your first time. The food was good I guess considering you choose what to put in it haha. The broth did have good flavor and tasted good. You can taste the mala and your mouth may get numb, but interestingly there's no chilis in the broth. So they must strain it and then just put more pepper powder depending on the spice level you choose. Spicy had me sweating and was tasty but think I'd get Hot next time for more mala experience. I give this 4 stars because these portions sizes are just really small in my opinion for what you're paying. Like yeah you can get a lb of meat purely but realistically you're going to want veggies and meat and maybe some noodles. I didn't even get noodles, and I'm still hungry. My girlfriend had the lb exactly and did get some of everything and she was still hungry (she gets full easily). I wouldn't come here again for just the Malatang unless you really like the fact you can choose exactly what you want. I'd prefer to get the Szechuan bowl at TastyPot in Mesa as they have a tastier mala broth in my opinion, way larger portion, and chilis still in the soup. This is a Korean Style mala place so def think they have some unique offerings like rose Malatang. I think if you've never had mala hot pot it's safe to try out here because you can control the spice level and pick what you want, but it's pricey.

I'm sooo happy a place like this finally opened. My dry pot cravings have been satisfied. Got to pick my own toppings and then pay based off weight. Was around $21 for a very filling and delicious meal. Food was given to me in a container that I can easily take back home, which is nice. I got rose flavor in spicy. It was a nice, bearable spice. I think maybe similar in spice to the carbonara samyang noodles?

The staff was super nice and helpful. I like that you can pick whatever you want to put and pay per pound. They have lamb, chicken, beef, pork, fish balls, noodles, rice cakes, and more. It didn't take too long for the food to cook either. I got the spicy malatang, which I enjoyed. There was decent mala flavor, but I kind of thought the broth was lacking depth. I really liked the variety of fish balls and the rice noodle texture was also really good. My biggest complaint is that I feel like it was overpriced for what it was. I got a pound (the minimum weight) and food shrunk down a lot after being cooked. I have a pretty small appetite but I was not full. For $16.99 per pound, I feel like it's a lot more expensive than some other hot pot spots I've been to. I do understand that this is a Korean chain so their mala is not going to be the same as traditional mala. I kind of wish I had tried the rose malatang since that is more unique to the Korean fusion. Overall, I still enjoyed the food, but I think it's a pricey option for what it is. I probably wouldn't come here again for the malatang, but maybe if I wanted one of the more unique flavors like rose.

Today I visited the newest Mala restuarant in 99 ranch market. We ordered the Mala tang, guaboarou and the shrimp guaboarou. Pros: *You can pick your own level of spiciness, your own toppings and how you like it to be cooked. (Soup or stir fry) *Cooked pretty fast*Togo container is super sturdy. *I liked the flavor of all the dishes we ordered. *Service was good. Very attentive ladies even though its in a food court Cons:*The price for the toppings is $16.99 per lb which seems too high for veggies and protein. *The shrimp guaboarou was good. But the batter was very chewy & hard to bite. (50% off with the promotion) eat it as soon as it comes out! *Need tongs in every item so that you don't contaminate veggies to raw meat and seafood. Overall we enjoyed our food & service.
