Sofrito Tan Rico

If you're in the market for some great Puerto Rican food then I strongly recommend getting food from Sofrito Tan Rico. Equally as good is the customer service by Michael and Venus.The empanadas and Mofongo bowls are personal favorites and highly recommended.

I was very excited to try their food since my family is Puerto Rican and this is soul food for me. I ordered Pastelillos -meal which comes with ground beef empanadas rice & black beans. This was delicious. The empanadas was seasoned perfectly and cook perfectly. I also ordered a side of tostones. They are flattened really thin and the mojo season is drizzled on it. It was also very tasty. My husband ordered The Original Pionono - their take on a lasagna with "seasoned ground beef wrapped in a sweet soft plantain and held together with egg substitute. Topped off with Mozzarella and our signature sauce." He loved it as well. I was very happy with all items ordered and am so happy they are local. You can text your order to them and request a pick up time so you don't have to wait. The customer service was excellent. I highly recommended them and look forward to going again.

#1 is the food. It is excellent. My home is near where their Food Truck stops. Living in Maricopa City for over ten years, I've NEVER noticed their truck. While making a U-turn to park by some stores, the text on the truck wrap caught my eye. I ordered a few items. Was I pleasantly surprised. One of the owners, Michael, was so cordial. He explained every item that I had interest in. There are even plastic-coated 9x12 item.The service and pride in their offerings is can't be beat.When I got home, the meal was teriffic! I'M HOOKED! YOU COULD BE, TOO. Be sure to give SofritoTanRico a try when in Maricopa City. You won't regret it!They also have ASL (American Sign Language) alphabet documents to assist with customers who are DHH (Deaf and Hard of Hearing).
