Skysill Rooftop Lounge

12.18.24: We hit Skysill Rooftop Bar at the Westin for their Wednesday Holiday movie. What a sweet spot ~ incredible views & perfect weather to watch an outdoor movie. My friend & I had never been here before & only came for the movie experience. We both love Westin Hotels & we're impressed w/ the lobby restaurant, so probably come back to try it out. I can't speak to the food/drinks at the bar b/c we brought our own popcorn & didn't buy anything. So super nice of them to let us just hang out w/o a bar minimum. I did register on Event Brite for tickets...

This review is for the Skysill Chalet Winter Pop-Up. When I booked this experience online, it cost $32. The cost included a snack and welcome drink. I assumed the decor and space would be over the top with Christmas decor too. This was THE MOST underwhelming Christmas pop up bar I have ever been. IT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH $32 per person. It's one small room, and while the decor they did have was nice, it could have been better. The welcome drink was some kind of warm toddy thing, which they offered to spike for us. The snack was one chocolate cake pop. I didn't even stay and order an actual drink because of how disappointed I was in this experience. I've been to quite a few Christmas pop ups, and I have never paid more than $15 to get in, and the decor was always great. This was extremely disappointing and I don't recommend this to anyone. There are lots of fun Christmas pop ups in the valley that don't cost anything to get in and are ALOT better than this.

Personally, the only thing that is special about this restaurant... Or bar? Is watching the sunset, or if you're curious about seeing what the Phoenix Valley looks like. The hotel lobby is lovely, the bathrooms are beautiful tremendously clean. The food menu is very limited and moderate/expensive for appetizers. We did not bother with cocktails. And the chips and tacos were OK. Not worth the price, especially for the quantity.

This is located at the top of the Westin in downtown Tempe. We were able to find street parking. The hotel is very pretty. The service and view were perfect. Zia made the experience so fun. The seating is dirty, not cleaned, lots of torn furniture and little crickets and bugs at night. The pizza was generic and bland but the wagu sliders were so good! They also have a great mocktail list with a beautiful sunset view.

It was a chill event. A decent place to be at. Poop super small , bar is small. A nice view on the roof top. Drinks were meh but that's expected it is on top of the hotel.

My friend and I were staying at the Westin Tempe for Innings Festival and during my stay here, I had received coupons for 2 margaritas or 2 mocktails that I could use at either Terra Restaurant on the 1st floor or here at the Skysill rooftop Lounge.My friend and I decided to come up here just to check out the pool and hang out while having a couple of margaritas but our experience here was just meh.When we first came in and walked up to the bar, the bartended had a very douchy attitude toward us after seeing that we were trying to redeem our coupon. He still made the margarita, but he was acting as if he didn't want to serve us. Plus point: the margarita was good and smooth.While we were chilling, another staff member (I guess the server in the seating area of the lounge) kept checking on all the guests if they needed anything else. This dude was great; not a douchy bone in him at all.During this time, I decided to head down to my room to take a shower so I could be ready to head out to the festival. When I'd come back up, my friend had ordered more margaritas for the both of us and some nachos. He then proceeded to tell me how the douchy bartender was pretty much ignoring him while he was trying to get more margaritas and even at one point refusing to make him two margaritas since I wasn't there. Long story short, he still got the margaritas made but the whole douchy attitude was not necessary. Anyway, when we were ready to close the tab, the douchy bartender was too busy talking to a couple that was in front of us (we were right behind them) and then a long line started to form behind us because the douchy bartender was too busy talking instead of doing his job. It took so long that the people behind us actually started complaining before the line would finally move. Nice setup, super crappy bartender, mediocre food.Meh

We are very disappointed in this "event." We paid $29 a ticket plus fees for a cake pop and a tiny cup of cider that didn't even have alcohol because the boy working said they were out of whiskey. He was the only one working. No one checked our tickets AT ALL so we could've saved our money apparently. Our friends, a party of 5, also did not have anyone check their tickets. A complete rip off and not as advertised. Definitely not up to Westin standards. So disappointed and will make sure we warn others.

Perfect spot to grab a quick drink for date night or with a friend! Highly recommend making a reservation around sunset! The most beautiful views of downtown Tempe. Food is average so I'd stick to drinks and enjoy the view. Pictured are drinks that were a part of their holiday menu.

Fun rooftop bar for Sunday funday or watching games. They have many TVs around the rooftop. Their cocktails are a tad pricey, but very tasty.

The hospitality was amazing. We'd like to send a special thank you to Alex for making sure to bring us blankets when we were chilly, while watching the NBA All Star Game on their big screen projector. It was such a great gesture! Thank you to the team for having us this weekend!
