Came here after having a couple of beers at the brewery just a few buildings down. This place is amazing! A TRUE gem.The place is very welcoming and the staff are super friendly and very helpful when there is a need to get a better handle of the menu. This is traditional Venezuelan food, and it is absolutely delicious - and very well presented! We ordered several items and the empanadas were honestly my faves... but it was all really good. The place is not huge but a decent size, and thankfully not full of wall TVs which I think often detract from the ambience. There was only one TV and it was off! We had a couple of drinks including some of their higher end tequilas and I have to say it was a great evening all round. The food was incredible. With the increase in quality dining and beverage locations in DT Mesa, there are some great choices. This is definitely in the top of my list in Mesa!

Friendly service, good came out quick. Tons of meat in the shredded beef arepa, plantain chips were super crispy and the green sauce drenched over the arepa added a nice spicy touch. The beef was seasoned well and the arepa itself was hearty. It was pretty quiet when I popped in around 11:50am for lunch.

I kept hearing about this place and I'm so glad I finally went in to give it a try. Omg this food is so good! The arepas are to die for. The meat inside of them is so flavorful and that green sauce!! *drool* The drinks are also fabulous and great service. There's a good amount of seating inside and a nice dog-friendly patio in the front too. My first experience with Venezuelan food did not disappoint! I'm definitely going to come back to try the brunch options.

Truly a hidden gem in Mesa! Stopped by yesterday with my bestie for some food and drinks. Very limited seating inside, so it can get crowded on the weekends. The wall art was very cool! We decided to sit at the bar, and I'm very glad we did. The bartender, Jared, was so friendly, and made us some amazing drinks! I really love that he strives to make you a great drink, and will ask what you like, so he can get it just right . We decided to let him surprise us with some drinks, and they did no disappoint. I did not catch the names of them all, but great drinks nonetheless. We ordered the ribs(only offered on Fridays and Saturdays), and we split the dirty burger with fries. The ribs were excellent, some of the best I've ever had! They served them with bbq and this delicious green salsa type sauce for dipping. The burger was so juicy and delicious as well. Fries were crispy and perfect! I will definitely be back!

Oh my gosh if you haven't been here yet - you're missing out! This place has got immaculate vibes and even tastier food. We sat outside since it was nice weather and our server was still attentive, which is something I get nervous of when sitting outside. We asked what he recommended and got what he suggested - all was incredible. My wraps was the perfect mix of sweet bread with savory meat and flavor inside. I LOVED it. Our drinks was so yummy too, we got a Paloma and a passion fruit margarita. Definitely will be back here again.

For November's International Supper Club UYE we headed out to Que Chevere. Que Chevere started out as a food truck and now a great addition to Main Street downtown Mesa. After checking out the menu I went with Pabellon Criollo. It was shredded beef, black beans with white Venezuelan cheese, white rice, fried plantains and a plain arepa, the perfect comfort meal on a cool night. Everything had great flavor. Been craving plantains and this hit the spot! Glad to have added Que Chevere to our ISCUYE list and look forward to coming back!

The customer service is excellent In a party of 4 we were divided in the opinion of the flavor of the food. I think the black beans needed more flavor. The chicken and beef arepas were good. Good flavorThe French fries were the best in my opinion. So i don't think i will be back for just french fries. My chifles...hmm...i can get yummy chifles at sprouts. Half of my party are regulars here. I love that is family owned and AGAIN. The service is excellent. I do hope this place continues to be supported by all of us. I just didn't like it a 5.

Had an up and down experience at Que Chevere after hearing rave reviews from friends. (Including my wife's friend who said it was just like home! So take my review with a grain of salt)Service was sporadic and it was hard to get our order in and get things like a to go box and sauces. We also felt like we were getting upsold.Juice of the day ($4.50) - we got the guava, sugar cane, passion fruit and chicha (like horchata) and they were all really sweet. Like cloyingly so. I usually like my agua frescas but the Venezuelan versions here I couldn't finish. Sampler ($16) - had four fried tequenos filled with cheese as well as four arepas that you could pick and choose which flavor from beef, chicken and cheese. These were the highlight of our dinner and were delicious pieces of fried goodness. It was pretty heavy though as everything was fried and I would've liked more of the guasacaca sauce as they only gave us one and not ranch as that made it pretty heavy. (Even ketchup here would've been nice )Cachapa ($11 plus $13 carne en vara upgrade) - this upsell here left a sour taste after. The waitress asked if we wanted the cachapa and then said people usually add a meat and asked if we wanted the special. Well the carne en vara upgrade totaled more than the cost of the dish! It was pretty good though quite heavy as it was fried maize, cheese and beef but not $25 good and I wish she told me how much it would be beforehand. It also didn't come with any avocado or salad so it felt like eating a pound of fried cheese and meat.Arepas ($13) - these hit the spot but alas came with ranch and guasacaca like all other dishes and a side of fried plantains. At this point having so much fried food and not much else was pretty hard to finish. The owner came by with some delicious ribs to sample that I would've gladly ordered but didn't see them on the menu. Pretty disappointing and for $85 before tax and tip for four not cheap. Maybe we ordered wrong and ordered the heavy stuff only? The papellon plate others ordered online looks way better.Wish I steered our crew to the delicious Taco Chiwas nearby instead.
