Pizza Roma Italian Cafe

We dined at around 3 pm on a Tuesday and the restaurant was understandably quiet. Our food arrived quite quickly and hot. I ordered the calzone and my wife enjoyed part of a 12" pizza. Both were delicious and had a zesty spice from the sausage. We will definitely stop by again. It would be wonderful to have this place in our neighborhood for more frequent visits.

I've been hearing about Pizza Roma Italian Cafe for ages and finally decided to drop in for a visit. What a cool little out of the way place! When we got there, there wasn't anyone else around. As the evening went on, it slowly filled up and by the time we left, it was crowded! I love it when these local shops get great business.Since it was my first time here, I decided to go with the appetizer sampler with wings (HOT), mozza sticks and zucchini sticks with sides of ranch and marinara. Everything hit the spot especially chasing it down with a cold one! Soon I had my pies on order. A 14" meat lovers and a 14' Hawaiian. After a short wait, our food was brought to the table. Okay, these pies were GREAT! Golden brown crust, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. Just the way I love it. Toppings were cooked through and cheese to toppings ratio was on point. Perfect cheese pulls! These were well made pizzas! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the service was GREAT! Our server kept our glasses full and kept checking on us. He later mentioned that he was working by himself that evening. I have say, you wouldn't know it! He had the front of the house moving! Excellent job! My family will definitely be returning to Pizza Roma Italian Cafe! Another East Mesa GEM!

So,..overall the food is good. Love to get their cannolis! Good stuff. But, my s/o tried calling in an order. No answer. So made an order online.. the order said it would be ready at 5:10pm. Went there & it seemed they couldn't find the order. Maybe they forgot? Idk. I went in at 5 after 5pm. Awaited till about 5:30pm ..Pizza was late. I just feel we should've been compensated for cannolis(?) ornsome type of dessert for pizza pick up, being late. Plus when I brought it home, bottom was burnt... It's still edible. I just still feel we should've been compensated. Is all. Tried calling , no answer & then phone rang busy. So idk what happened with that. Just with few things...should've been compensated, for being late & burnt bottom of pizza. Thanks.

While we were a little apprehensive as there was a "be right back!" Sign on the door, this place was amazing. Calm and friendly, with gorgeous art on the wall, this delivered the family vibe I look for in my Italian restaurant a. The pizza crust was hand tossed and nicely balanced between crispy and soft. The side salad was generous and the Caesar delicious. The spaghetti was a hit with our kids and the spaghetti loving adult. The owner was out when we came and the back of house had to fill in. Can't even be mad, he was doing his best in a role he didn't do. When the owner got back, she jumped right in and there was no issue with our service. A great, chill place with good food for a family dinner. We were in and out in under an hour.

I love this place for their pizzas. They will actually par-bake it for me and I finish it at home in my oven to have hot pizza instead of it being fully baked & cooling off by the time it gets home. I recommend this place. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Wonderful pizza! This is the second time we have ordered takeout and delivery, and everything was great. The salad too, no iceberg here, nice fresh Romaine lettuce black olives and cheese. (We asked for no tomates). Great selection of toppings and the prices are fair. YUM!!

Absolutely delicious!!!! We also had wings and pizza but didn't stop to take a picture, it was too yummy! Unfortunately our visit didn't go as planned, it was too busy for one cook to handle - lotssss of Togo orders and restaurant filled with people. We'd love to go again, but don't want to run into the same issue of waiting an hour for our food. So dear management - please staff at least 2 cooks during the winter and holiday season! :) our server was also wonderful.

First, let me say that I am happy that I read some of the other reviews, most of which are very positive. I think I am a good review writer, and I like to write positive reviews whenever my experience warrants it. This is one customer's opinion based on one particular visit, so you may take it for what it is worth.We have a number of pizza establishments relatively close to our home, and we enjoy trying different ones, comparing them, and choosing our favorites. We have known of Pizza Roma for quite some time and finally decided to try it. I ordered by phone and asked for a large pepperoni pizza, with extra pepperoni, for my wife and myself, and that was all. I thought it was a little pricey, but it was OK. We timed our arrival just right and were soon on our way home.When we opened the box, we were very surprised at what we saw. So to be fair, I looked up "New York Style" pizza online and found that our pizza generally fit the description. It had not been cut very well so I used our own pizza cutter to separate the pieces. Even as thin as it was, it took several strong cuts to get through. As the definition said, it was thin and the pieces were large. But we had to use forks and kitchen knives to cut individual pieces to eat. I couldn't find anything that resembled tomato sauce, and there was a thin layer of cheese and an adequate, but not full, layer of small pepperoni slices. I ate 1 1/2 slices, and my wife managed to eat one slice before she gave up. I almost threw the rest out, but I put it in the refrigerator, and I will try to make something of it today for lunch.Let me repeat, this is just one person's opinion. But if you are trying this place for the first time, just be aware of what you are getting. I apologize to the owners and employees. I guess we just prefer a different style of pizza. Thanks.

We've had good pizza here during the day, but not in the evening. Very inconsistent quality - maybe the day shift cook is better? Today we ordered a 16" grandmas Ny for pickup, it was only 12x14", black on the bottom and very skimpy on toppings. And this was after waiting 20 extra minutes for it to be ready.

The NY supreme Pizza - AMAZING!!!Small family business - love it...Great service. Going back and recommend this place in Mesa.
