Pirate's Fish & Chips

While out n about today, I ventured into a new to me part of Casa Grande. The area reminded me of smallish towns in CA Central Valley. While on the main drag, I saw a cool old drive-in diner place. I made it a point to stop for lunch after work stuff was done. Price was cheap, seafood was tasty, nicely breaded & fried but possibly frozen stuff. I see they batter the seafood there. My combo order had 2 fish pattie squares (moby jack - remember that?) and 7 shrimp (actually 3.5 shrimp cut in 1/2 lengthwise - weird but OK), fries were fine. Food was cooked fresh, tasty for what it was and what I paid (see receipt), service was nice and prompt outside, seating under the awning was clean. Being from CA and living in SF & SD, I've had some of the best fresh catch fried seafood. This was not that by far. But it is what it is in the desert and well it was just fine.Will I go back? Yes, but I would not go out of my way for it. Oh it's definitely better than LJS chain junkfood!

I kept hearing good things about this place. So I stopped by on a Thursday night and ordered the shrimp basket. You could tell it was going to be greasy just by the bag being soaked by it. They have a special pirate sauce that was watered down to me. I did enjoy the onion rings. It's a good deal for something quick.

This was our selection for lunch for the four of us. Between us we ordered fish & chips, shrimp, a junior burger and a corn dog.The shrimp was pretty good. We agreed on the coating but would guess it was probably frozen shrimp. The fish was something else. There is no doubt it was bought frozen. Two of us had this and neither cared for it. I couldn't even eat it all. Fries were good. The corn dog was not a regular corn dog as you would expect. It was a chicken corn dog with very light meat. Person who ordered it wasn't thrilled with that either and didn't eat it.The junior burger wasn't bad. It was only $1.35 so we had to try it. It reminded us of the little burgers at Sonic.All in all there is no chance we would return.

Definitely not a trendy new restaurant or an eclectic spot to get a yelp review in at but it did the trick this fine day. Generally a pretty health conscious eater, this was a bit out of my element. I was starving.......for real, starving. About anything would do the trick and and like a port in the storm, Pirates saved the day. A good serving of fried food can't be that bad right? I enjoyed the fish and chips with some shrimp as well. Breaded and fried was really the only items on the menu. It was par for the course in every way other than the fish patties varied in size immensely. Out of my 4 patties one of the small patties was less than half the size of the largest. Note that if eating there you will see a cast of characters lol. They also had a drive they option too. Enjoy the fish and chips!

Tried to go there for lunch and they said they were out of food. Seriously, an open restaurant that's out of food? They need to do better, whether it's keeping the fridge stocked or having friendly staff. There's major room for improvement.

The service is SO slow.. it can be one person in the entire place, both walk up and drive thru, and they're still going to take forever to come to the speaker and take your order. The food is ok, however I'm pretty sure they're reusing the food that's tossed out or something, as my last order of fries had sauce on them, even before I opened my sauce to eat with it.. for this reason alone, I'd never recommend.

This is not Fish N' Chips this is frozen fish patties. Chips were not good had been sitting too long. They were understaffed but very friendly

Fish, a frozen fish stick patty.Fries, soft and mooshy potatoes.I didn't have high hopes bit. I wanted to like it but the food is not good but very affordable so you get what you get.

I tried this place for the first time 13 yrs ago or so was not impressed I believe I ordered a burger , it tasted very bland ..well I decided to try it again a few days ago I ordered fish and chips ... oh my it was so horrible square frozen fish Pattie's really ? I honestly couldn't eat them , I don't even understand how this place is still open , am I missing something ? I don't know .... but won't go there again

Food is bland and unseasoned, which I could forgive if the service wasn't so abysmally bad. I waiting in line with a single car in front of me for 25 minutes. I finally pulled up to the window and waited another 8 minutes without seeing an employee before leaving without my food. This was the final straw at this "restaurant ". I will never be back.
