Perla Negra Mexican Seafood

My son lives around the corner and it's time for a late night snack. This place has some negative reviews mostly due to cultural and language gaps. The food I ate was good and right on the price. The negative stuff in my opinion stems from how and where you were raised. If raised in a Mexican culture then this place is golden if not- not so much. I'm Japanese American raised in a mostly Hispanic culture and willing to be flexible to get good food. It's loud and fast paced, throw in the language thing and you get a negative review. Overcome those obstacles and you'll get some good service with smiles and better than decent food. Last words...loaded poloma!

Amazing and fun place to enjoy good food, great service, karaoke, & dancing especially with the family! Kid friendly and a variety of food choices. Can't wait to go back!

The ceviche tostada desgreñada was absolutely amazing! It's probably the best ceviche I've ever had in my life. The food was five stars. What brought it down to four stars was the lack of customer service. There were only two other customers in the building and the waitress let us run out of water twice and she stayed on the other side of the room the entire time. They need to train their staff to be more customer oriented. Also, the soda had barely enough syrup to give it a taste, and there was no carbonation.

The food was not bad. But the prices were high & they were skimpy on the amount of octopus provided in their cocktails. But my real reason for giving this two stars is the fact the shrimps are NOT cleaned properly. The poopsacks on the shrimp were not cleaned out. With the price of $25 for a seafood cocktail I expect the food to be cleaned properly.

So I wanted to say the food is so worth it. So worth it. The experience is so so. We went Saturday evening, they had music playing but the room in the back was full, we had to sit at the bar. They were out of ceviche which is what I went for originally. I tried something out of my norm and I did not regret it at all. It was way too much for 2 people. Could probably feed 4 if we're being honest. But I felt to happy and excited to have finally found a Mariscos place nearby. The service could improve a little but right now I feel like everyone is doing their part especially with these conditions.

Came here with friends, it was very disappointing...beans smelled burned, a bit overpriced.

This place sucks it has no flavor is super expensive ,got a limonada and it's didn't taste like limonada ,rap toritos shrimp was not fresh no flavors it's was frozen shrimp from Walmart . bill was $66.00 plus tips ruin my lunch the only thing good here was the waitress ,also they sold me a 1/2 of an avocado for $8.99 I can get 10 of those @ the store

Music was way to loud. while I enjoy cult music this was ridiculous. I asked them to turn it down twice and all they did was turn the speakers a different direction. It would have been nice to have a conversation over dinner. Ambiance rating on a 1-10 scale would be low at 3 but generous.Waitstaff was not at all attentive. walked in the door, no staff to be seen, when staff did appear they just casually waved and pointed to "anywhere." No hurry to keep drinks refreshed. seemed more interested in standing behind the bar playing with their cell phones. Not the worst service ever, bit not at all good either. Maybe a 5 rating is pushing it, but close.Overall food quality is mediocre at best. very overpriced for what you get. Plate was loaded with junk carbs to make up for deficiencies in seafood. My wife took her food home to re-prepare it to make more edible. Food rating 6Overall. I will not return and do not recommend.

Right off the bat Chips and salsa awful , had a rancid smell .. ordered appetizers toritos , the sour cream had a very weird flavor, ordered the shrimp cocktail cup definitely wished it had more shrimp honestly nothing seemed fresh. Over priced sea food with no favor you're better off going to Baja joes or Sinaloa. Lastly the server was not very friendly .
