This was a very unexpected surprise. As a golfer who loves to play as many courses as possible. This was my first time playing here. Since this course was at a retirement community. I was expecting an easy, flat, and bland layout. I was definitely wrong! Oakwood Country Club was a very enjoyable course. The layout was great, had some challenging holes, with some nice scenery. The course was in immaculate condition, and service was on point. This is a course I am looking forward to coming back.

Beautiful courses with multiple lakes attracting blue and white herons. The club house has a decent restaurant and clean restrooms. The pools are warm and the hot tub opens at 6. The manned gates are nice for residents; sense of safety. Oakwood also has a three mile walking path. Beautiful scenery but not great for fast walking or running. Surface is concrete. Oakwood would be 6* if they built bike lanes.

Arrived about 7:30 and there seemed to be several groups teeing off. Checking in was a bit slow. Three people behind the counter and only one person was taking our group of 60. But once checked in, I headed to the golf cart and noticed that the driving range and putting greens were completely crowded. What the heck, warming up is overrated. The course was in great shape, Lakes was really a challenge and the Palms greens were pretty slick.

This course is a hidden gem. Always in great shape, quiet, and afternoon golf is usually wide open & affordable.

This golf course was horrible. They call it a country club but should change the name to oak wood retirement facility. Way overpriced for the course conditions and the clubs that my father rented from them looked like they were used in the medieval times.

From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel unwelcome. Receptionist at the desk was very cold, and within minutes of starting to play pickleball we had a man (employee) very rudely asking us which court we were supposed to be on and if we were members, which we were. After pickleball we went for lunch at the restaurant, which was almost empty, and our service was disappointing. When asked if they had Mezcal, the server asked what that was, and after placing drink orders they took 15 minutes to show up. Overall, not a great experience.

This establishments board of fare has gone downhill to nothing just a burnt hotdog and burnt burger and rib joint. Entire budget went into decor and no flavor. They try to pass themselves off like the Ruth Christ of the Southeast Valley. You want good moist fall off the bone ribs go to Tom's up the street on Alma School. If you want good burgers go to Smash Burger also on Alma School don't waste your money here.
