Nico's Mexican Food

A simple literal "hole in the wall" of a gas station joint. They have a huge selection of fast Mexican food. Casa Grande has two locations, but this one is my go to. I'm obsessed with their breakfast burritos! My go to is ham, egg, cheese, and potato. Don't forget the red sauce it totally makes it.

We went to Nico's on a whim, meaning "We did not check the Yelp reviews". Which was mistake number #1. The food was average at best. I am being very generous with this 2-star review. Disclaimer: I don't particularly enjoy giving negative reviews post-Covid. There are a lot of good restaurants out there (especially the Mom and Pops) that are struggling and I understand that it is hard to maintain quality control when you are short-staffed. The Nico's Mexican restaurant is located inside Discovery Mart at a chevron gas station. Mistake number #2 gas station restaurants are hit or miss. ‍We ordered a Carne Asada combo, a Rolled taco combo, and a cheese quesadilla which came up to $38.12. Which is in my opinion pricy for gas station Mexican food. The Rolled Tacos were terrible!No disrespect to whoever cooked it but DAMN how do you mess up a deep-fried taco?!!! It is just shredded chicken wrapped in a tortilla then deep-fried. The tacos were not deep-fried or even cooked. The tortilla was gummy and soaked in this red sauce. The Carne was okay, the steak was a little overcooked and on the bland side. Both combos come with refried beans and Mexican rice. The bean was okay but the rice though was the best part of the dish. Seasoned and cooked perfectly. I would go back for the rice alone. There hot sauces are also very tasty, the red sauce had a smoky roasted flavor, and the green sauce had a sour or tart flavor is both very spicy. The cheese quesadilla was good we enjoyed that dish the best. Overall Nico's is overpriced and below average Mexican food. I probably won't go back so I don't feel comfortable recommending it. Go at your own risk, and if you do I hope have a better experience than we did.

Good service and food. Fish tacos were great.! Some seating inside. I did takeout!! In a service station.

Standing behind a gentleman ordering food and overheard the gentleman at the counter working call the customer an offensive word in Spanish. He was speaking to another worker who laughed it off. Customer obviously didn't understand him but I did. I personally won't stand for that. So, I left and decided to spent my money at an establishment that actually respects their customers.

Had the quesadilla there, and it was great. The cheese was melted and smooth. They added in green peppers, which gave it another texture towards each bite. Would come again.

I have had breakfast burritos here before, and they were always really good. I went today and ordered up a bacon, egg, potato, and cheese burrito. What I got was an almost all potato burrito with a little bacon and cheese ....almost no egg at all. I thought it might have been because eggs are a little more expensive right now, but no...they charged $2.00 more than the last time I was here. At the Nico's down on highway 86, I had breakfast burrito there 2 weeks ago, and it was great. It only cost $9, more than $2 less.

Nico's is inside the gas station. Texano burrito is top notch. Good spot to get food and go!

Food was disappointing. Burrito did not have much meat and rice and beans was used as a filler. Service was slow. Never again!

Wife is pregnant and was craving a burrito and we have been there in the past and service and food was ok at best but this time was last time we visit this location.. wife was trying to enjoy a M F burrito and almost choked on a alvacado skin and not a small piece either.. and when brought to staffs attention they didnt even bother to offer to fix the problem they just argued amongst themselves..very un professional and unfriendly .. and outside tables were not even properly cleaned

The food is delicious and the staff are beyond pleasant and helpful! I love this place!
