I am so happy I booked Medieval Times while we were visiting Scottsdale. We have never been and we thought it'd be something fun to do with our 8 & 5 year olds. When you first pull into the parking lot, it's pretty cool. My kids were so geeked to go into an actual castle. We arrived around 20 min before show time, so they were already seating people. We did not have to wait long to get checked in, get our crowns and then our entry picture taken. We did not have time to hangout in the hall due to us being so close to show time, so we were able to go to our seats right away. We had Queen's Royalty Upgrade so our seats were front row and it was pretty cool. With the upgrade we did get the Dinner and Show, Priority seating access, VIP status and cheering banner, Best seats in the house, Framed group photo for all. You have a mug, your plate, napkin and a wet wipe at your seat. The wet wipe is to be used BEFORE you eat, to clean your hands. We didn't' figure this out until after when we got the bigger wet wipe for after eating! You do NOT get silverware, which we knew about and were looking forward to! We did not have to wait long for the bartender to come around - they only come around 3 times during the 1.5 hours and you can only order one drink at a time. We got the 32oz beer in the souvenir glass - it literally took us the whole time to finish it! The drinks, especially those in souvenir glasses, are expensive. Once the show started, we were served our first course - Dragon Blood Soup (aka tomato soup). This was your standard tomato soup, pretty watery, but not bad and not great. It was fine - so good in fact my 5 year old ate the WHOLE bowl and I don't ever remember eating tomato soup. The garlic bread came next - standard Texas toast. You can't mess it up - buttery goodness. Once they clear those plates, the chicken comes next. You literally get half a chicken! Now, we are fans of rotisserie chicken so we were happy. Decent flavor and it was super moist! There are bones, so you are using your bare hands to pick around it. Part of the fun! My kids destroyed their birds - they loved it. Next up is potato - which is half a potato roasted. Decent enough flavor, i prefer to dip my potatoes in stomthing, so it was a little boring for me but it was fine. Last dinner item is the corn - this is a quarter of a cob slathered in butter and some seasoning. I thought it was delicious, as did my kids. My husband and sister, however, thought it was bad corn. To each their own! Last part of the meal is the eclair. Nothing special, more like a frozen one from Gordon Food. But dessert is dessert, right!? Overall review of the food - it was better than I expected. After all the reviews I had read before hand, I was prepared. We didn't go for the food but were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Now to the show - the only downside for me was the acoustics and my ability to hear the narrator and the queen. Not sure if it was just me or if that is for the whole arena, but it didn't ruin my experience. The story is easy to follow. Everyone gets to into cheering for their section's knight! My kids had a great time cheering for our color and then booing the other colors. The different "events" were great to watch - these guys have some true talent! Obviously the jousting and sword fighting were the highlight. They make it as realistic as possible with sticks that explode when they hit the other guy's shield, and sparks during the sword fights. I thought the horses were so fun to watch - the bow, dance, jump, etc. The falconer was pretty exciting, too! They keep the audience engaged but throwing flowers, giving out sashes, and the cheering and booing. They do come around and offer a few different trinkets for sale (like light up swords, flowers, and more banners) fair warning for those with kiddos. Our pictures were passed out during the show, since they were included in our tickets - they turned out cute. They also ask upfront for tips for the servers, as tip is not included in your ticket price. They give you your server's payment app details or ask for cash or card. This didn't bother me, as our server was hustling to serve each course and then clear plates in a timely manner. Plus, he was part of the opening scene!Once the show was done, we went to the souvenir booth for the kiddos. We didn't think the trinket prices were terrible, all things considered. Less than I would have assumed. Few other notable things: Cleanliness - I found the entire venue, including bathrooms, very clean. I was impressed by that. Character - EVERYONE is in character. It is fun to interact with them and how they address and speak to you. My Lord and Lady! The last thing is the fact that you can get a shout out during the event - birthdays, anniversary, literally any event. That would be a cute way to celebrate! Overall, we had a great time. My kids had a BLAST! I would definitely recommend it. Great way to end our vacation in Scottsdale!

I hope your in the mood for a good time and can afford it!We brought the kids here and everyone had a blast. There are a TON of bartenders while waiting for the entertainment to begin so lines move fast. There's a gift shop to spoil your kids and for adults. Food was decent. This is a great place to go once in great while or to celebrate. It is easy to blow a lot of money here so keep that in mind.

What a fun time we had at Medieval Times! We got tickets for the 4:00 show, and arrives at 3:35. That was the perfect amount of time, as we did not plan on ordering from the bar. It have us time to check in and get our table cards and crowns. Everyone in your party will get a paper crown with your assigned color. After you get your crowns, you get in line for a photo shoot of your party, complete with swords. Then you wait until you are called color, where they lead you to your seat. Each seat has a place setting with a metal plate and soup bowl, a mug for your drink, napkin, and two wet wipes--one to wash before eating, and one to clean up after. Did I mention you eat with your hands to be true to the time? Someone is walking around taking cocktail orders if you want one. Again, we didn't do cocktails, but it looks like they came in nifty vessels, like light up mugs you can take home. We started out with tomato bisque. I don't like tomato soup so I gave mine too my son, but everyone seemed to like it. That was followed up by a baked half chicken, garlic potato half, corn on the cob, and garlic Texas toast. To drink there was a choice of Pepsi, lemonade, or water. I expected the lemonade to be watery crystal light drink mix, but it was actually really good. Dessert was a mini eclair. If was a lot of food, but they do give you a box of you can't finish. Everything was great, and seasoned perfectly. The show was great. Loud of gorgeous horses, even some trained to "dance" and walk sideways and backwards. There was a falconer that sent the falcon flying low over our heads. The knights did a lot of tricks, like grabbing the ring with their lances while riding their horses. There was jousting and sword fighting with everyone rooting for their color knight. It's was great fun! It really was a fun time, with plenty of yummy food. If you have thought of going here, just do it!

We went for my mom's birthday.. it was really cool, I think I'd have to be ready for all the theatrics and the loud cheers, which I was! The chicken was actually so amazing and the staff did great it was VERY expensive. But when you see how much goes into just one show it makes more sense! (GO GREEN KNIGHTS)

I'm always down for dinner and a show, especially when the options are already gluten-free!My husband told me he noticed there was a sale this past weekend for Medieval Times in Scottsdale, Arizona. He had been to the location in Texas more than 15 years ago while I had never been. Not only did we have so much fun watching the horses dance and the falcon fly around the arena, we had a blast cheering for the blue knight from our seats a couple rows under the AV booth and directly across from the King & Queen, but everything but the bread and dessert is already gluten-free! Our server Mando was fantastic! My husband was given my bread while we each we given a half chicken, corn on the cob, a spiced potato and I had the gluten-free Italian ice while he had an eclair. Coffee, teas and sodas were included. I had a coffee and an unsweetened ice tea. We also purchased a bottle of sangria that came with 2 souvenir hurricane glasses for $38 and I got a light up souvenir castle cup with a slushy for about $16. As a Celiac, this was the least stressful gluten-free meal I've had at a restaurant in a long time! I highly suggest it. Visited: December 2024

This was our first time going and we went with a very large group of people. Luckily we were able to buy all our tickets together so we got to sit together. We were given a card with our row and seat number on it when we checked in and then went into the castle to wait in the square or market before the show started. This is where you can buy flags, swords, glowing steins, slushees, etc. and the bar. Tip: if you plan to go again, get the big stein because you can reuse it for cheaper drinks/refills. The big doors opened to the arena and everyone got corralled in to get seated. It was little tricky because we had a kiddo on crutches and there was no looking out for him or allowance for him to go in the front, so we were really trying to make sure no one ran into him. They started the show pretty much right on time. The King and Queen introduced themselves from the balcony and introduce all the knights. Everyone sits in a section that represents a knight, so we were in the yellow section and cheering for the Yellow Knight. The servers came around and took our card. They get drinks started (Pepsi products, lemonade, tea or water) and soon after the first course was served of tomato soup (dragon's blood) and garlic toast. Next came your own half roasted chicken, corn on the cob and a seasoned potato wedge. It's quite a bit of food!!! Also, no silverware unless requested, but they give you napkins and wet napkins to clean up with. They have it down to science on serving everyone in the arena because it's all the same thing, but do tell them ahead of time if you have a food allergy or need vegan or gluten free options because they will accommodate. We watched several different games and competitions, displays with the horses, all very entertaining. We had kids ranging from 5-17 and everyone was really invested in the story the whole time. The show is well done. There is a falconer and the falcon flies around the arena, which was really cool! Dessert was a little disappointing because everything was so grandiose up to that point and it was just this little cold eclair and the menu said coffee but there wasn't coffee served (at least not in our row). It also would've been nice if the servers could have left the pitchers of the beverages and we could do our own refills because the drink to food ratio really was way out of whack on the food side. Bar drinks can also be ordered but from a different server in a red tunic/corset. Gratuity is not included and they tell you it's recommended you tip $10 a person. Make sure to bring a card or cash. All in all we had a positive and fun experience but it is quite pricey. There are extra packages you can add as well, including a VIP pass, which has additional perks, but just the "basic" package offered a lot. You can find coupons and deals if you keep an eye out or sign up for their email promotions.

We went as a group for one of our friend's birthday and it was so much fun! I would highly recommend it for a group outing! When you first get in they assign you a Knight and Team and give you matching crowns so you know who to cheer for. The seats open an hour before showtime and we got there a bit late, so I definitely recommend going earlier than your showtime as you can take pics inside and order drinks. As an FYI, I will say that the tickets are on the pricier end and they charge just for about everything as well. Which all in all it makes sense for them to charge for all the little souvenirs, but just in case you were expecting a different experience. They charge for the little flags that you can wave around to cheer for your knights and drinks are definitely on the pricier end, but you can get a Souvenir cup which has discounted refills. The food - I didn't expect the food to blow me out of the water, but it was definitely pretty average. I think if their food was better I could justify going back more frequently. We got a tomato soup that was pretty watery and the chicken skin was good but the chicken itself was pretty dry. The potato felt like it was missing something. Overall the experience was fun and the show and jousting is very entertaining!

The food was half a chicken, bread, potato and corn. Also came with some tomato soup! Oh and a little cannoli for dessert. The service was great Teagan was very attentive to our needs! She's awesome! This is a place where go for the entertainment, the horses were beautiful and very majestic. The Falcon was simply amazing! Each of the knights are so skilled at their craft, BUT ON THIS DAY, there could only be ONE CHAMPION!!!!!!!! In my C-section of course!!!!!!! THE BLACK AND WHITE KNIGHT was victorious!!!! This was such a good experience of something different! My only critique is the piecemeal of tips and payments! I still highly recommend it, just know it could get pricey really quickly!!!!

My friend suggested we bring all the kids here to get them out of the house and enjoy some live entertainment. We opted for VIP passes(gets you into front row), which with a coupon came to $56 per adult and $35 per child. We chose the 4 p.m. show so we wouldn't be out too late since it lasts about two hours. Before heading into the arena, we spent some time in the spacious lobby where there's a full-service bar for the adults and a gift shop for the kids. While this isn't usually my kind of thing, watching my little one have the time of his life made it totally worth it. The staff were incredible and stayed in character the entire time!
