This railroad park is the greatest past, present, and future park...it's amazing; adults and children alike are enthused to explore every nook and cranny. I frequented this park when I was a child and I am delighted to be able to share it with my children 35 years later; it is just as magical and enchanting as it was when I was a kid. I brought my 2 & 1 year old to the park for the first time last week and they loved every second of our time there. They played with reckless abandon in the western play area that includes a Davy Crocket style Alamo, stagecoach, jailhouse, and sand pit to explore and play. There is also a playground that is currently under construction to become a state of the art masterpiece jungle gym shaped like a train; the plans look extraordinary, we can't wait until it's completed! The park is huge with loads of grassy play areas to play sports, have a picnic, frolic and run around. There are numerous shaded gazebos for gatherings (we used to do our pizza "book it" parties back in the day...I'm that old). The park also boasts museums to look at and explore a real train and what the inside looks like. The history of the park is also laid out if that interests the history buffs out there. The real gem of the railroad park is of course the mini train itself; kids and adults buy a $3 ticket and take a memorable ride all around the park (about 6 minutes or so). My children couldn't stop talking about it and wanting to go again and again. At Christmas time the entire place is a winter wonderland filled with lights and decorations of every kind;'it's a one of a kind experience that brings the holidays to life. One thing I love about this place is that there are lots of family's and moms that bring their kids and feel completely safe roaming around and making new friends. It is as if there is an unspoken mom code that we are all for one and one for all here; it's a great feeling to be confident in places to take your precious little ones to play and park a stroller without a worry of your stuff going missing. Pack a picnic, bring your kids, and have a fantastic day at the railroad park. These are memories to last a lifetime; mine have!

If you're looking for a fun and memorable outing for the family, this park is a must-visit!My kids absolutely love coming here for the train ride--it's such a fun experience for children of all ages. One highlight is the vintage train from the 1920s, which is a fascinating piece of history. You'll also enjoy learning about trains and the city's history from the friendly and knowledgeable staff and volunteers, many of whom are former engineers. They even build and maintain handcrafted trains that run just like real ones--an impressive sight! The park also features a large play area where kids can burn off extra energy before heading home. For a quick break, there's a small shop offering ice cream and snacks to keep everyone refreshed.Tips: The train ride costs only $3 per person, but you can save money by purchasing 8 tickets for $20 (just ask for the deal).Arrive before 10 AM to avoid long lines for the train ride.I highly recommend this park to parents and kids. It's an enjoyable, educational, and affordable experience that won't disappoint!

Cool place, to an extent. If you LOVE trains and everything transportation, this is easily a 5 Star spot. To the average person, I'd say this place is just okay.I've been twice, once to the actual railroad park and once to the Christmas event on site. The best I can say about this place is that it's well kept. There's lots of history here. Certain things need work though, such as the Christmas train ride. It took around 20 minutes to board, and we could barely breathe because of the amount of diesel being blown into our faces.

What a great place. Stuff to do for people of all ages. Pretty much in the heart of Scottsdale. They were getting their Christmas displays up, and I can imagine it is fantastic when they are up and lit.

Went for the holiday light, not normal operation. So cute. Very friendly staff. The train ride is included and the kids loved it. Was able to go multiple times. The carousel was also big hit. They have a few photo set up opportunities. Mini golf. And also have snacks for purchase. It was a great holiday outing.

Such a cute Christmas display. Took my daughter here for her birthday with her friend and they had a lot of fun. Reasonable entry price, $15? Mini golf, train ride, carousel, lights, a bubble machine, a museum. Really cool stuff, we had fun.

We had such a great experience at The McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park this past week.We have 2 kids under 8 and this was a fun and educational way to entertain the kids at a reasonable price. The train ride and vintage carousel cost $3 per person. You can walk through the model railroad building and railroad cars at no charge. It was fun watching the kids faces light up with the interactive train systems. We all enjoyed the museums and reading about the history of the railroad. The large park also includes several different playground areas and several picnic spots. There is a concession stand, however, bring your own food and drinks and park it outside while you tour the buildings. There are areas to leave strollers. Both the kids and adults enjoyed everything the park had to offer.

Probably the most amazing place to bring your children if you live in the Phoenix metro area or you're visiting with kids. Not only do you not have to spend too much, your children will be quite entertained for a good amount of time. Not to mention, you'd be quite entertained yourself even if you're not into trains (but it's nice to learn about them). My favorite thing to do is to pay a small fee for a train ride for both my son and I. He is also ALWAYS super thrilled to see the model trains in the exhibit room. I love the way his eyes light up every time we are there. There's also a carousel, a museum, and a lovely playground and park area. Plenty of parking here as well. And definitely come when it's Halloween or Christmas time. The place is decorated so nicely!

What a nice park. Just the right amount of things to do and see for a few hours. Wide open spaces to play catch and tables for a picnic with friends and family. Play structures for the kiddos. And of course the train ride and Farris wheel are fun. A train museum and rather large running miniature train exhibit. A snack bar and store. I've been here a few times now and I like the that is clean and well maintained. Last words...not a waste of time.
