Manuel's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina - Chandler

Hubby & I had dinner here tonight. As we are looking for our go to Mexican restaurant. Unfortunately, we are still looking because this is not it. We were seated right away. It took awhile for our server to come to the table. She was okay as a server, but no where near the best we've had. The table was off balance so my hubby used his napkin. He fold it over several times & balanced the table.The chips were thin & good. We really liked the mild salsa. Hubby said the hot salsa didn't have much to it. I tried the tomatillo sauce that came with my meal & it didn't have a good taste. Plus it was really spicy.I ordered water & sangria. Hubby got water & a beer. The sangria was way too sweet. It was overpriced for the amount of food we got. Hubby got the fajita chimichanga & the server asked him if he wanted the lunch one since it came with rice & beans, so he got that. He liked it but said there was way too many green peppers in it. He also said the rice was not as good as the rice I make. I got the chicken fajitas. I was surprised for the price it didn't come with rice; just beans. The amount of chicken was crazy as there was not much. The chicken was not charred & many of the onions weren't either. They came with 2 very thin tortillas. You could see through them. Sour cream, guacamole & the spic tomatillo sauce. There was no shredded cheese or pico. The tomatoes were huge pieces. like they cut a tomato in quarters & you get 2 wedges. They weren't charred at all. The most disturbing thing was I had to give our server the PIN number for our debit card to pay. We will be keeping an eye on our bank account.Needless to say we will not be going back. Our hunt for our go to Mexican restaurant continues.

We came here on Saturday night with my family (there were 5 of us and we were sat in a comfortable booth) we were sat pretty quickly and our server was a complete sweetheart.3 of us had the taco salad in which I ordered mine with shredded beef and that was a mistake because it was sooooo watery from the juice (not drained) it made the lettuce soaking wet to where I couldn't eat it and the tortilla bowl was soaking through and my plate had a puddle of liquid and the other 2 had ground beef and did not have the problem I did.Drinks were decent and the chips were light and delicious and fresh along with the salsa and we also ordered the bean dip that was flavorful, for 5 people with a meal and drinks our bill was about $160 which is decent.

What a wonderful dinner we had! Happened to stop in on a Monday with 6 guests and we were seated right away. Also, they had a delicious special. Taco, enchilada, rice and beans. Very reasonable. No wonder it was so busy! The service was good, and there was no hurry to rush us out.

My wife did a catering order here for my birthday. Very reasonable prices and great quantity and quality. Some other local Mexican restaurants catering was soooo expensive. Our party was great and we received multiple complements on the food. Will definitely use them again.

So we came here for my "last meal", it's a long story but it's the last meal I'm going to be able to enjoy for a while. They were super busy for a Monday night. We enjoyed our night, the waitress kept apologizing for it taking so long but we never felt delayed during our dinner.There were several large parties that our waitress was handling and she didn't miss a beat.The staff did a great job and made the dinner a very enjoyable evening, we will definitely be back!

Checked out this place while staying in Gilbert- our hosts recommended it, and we can honestly say it's been our favorite local eatery so far. The restaurant itself is nice, clean and has plenty of tables. It wasn't busy at all for a Monday at lunch, but even if it were the service is great and they were so on top of everything. We asked questions about the menu and the server was wonderful at getting us answers. Everything we tried was good and flavorful too. We ordered the mini chimi appetizer, my kids ordered their house chimichangas for lunch and I tried the pollo and especial. We all enjoyed the food and atmosphere and feel it was a solid recommendation. We would definitely go back if in the area again

I used their catering and Ruben, the manager was great. He called me the morning of the event to confirm that my party was still on. The food was well presented and delicious. My guests raved about it. I will definitely order from Manuel's again.

The food here was really good and authentic. The staff was incredibly nice as well. I ordered their bean and cheese burrito Enchilada style and I would definitely recommend that as my number one dish from here.

We have changed from once a week at La Casa Blanca to Manuel's. Better food, better service, better Margherita's. No charge for credit cards. Clean, fresh decor. Menu is also better! Best Mexican food in the East Valley!
