La Parrilla Del Gordo

Tried this when they popped up as a food truck in my neighborhood. I didn't know what to expect as it was billed as an "authentic Sonoran grill." Even several feet away, the smell of the fresh-grilled meat is mouthwatering! For being a food truck, the menu is large. From hot dogs to burgers to quesadillas, they have it all. We went with the hamburger which was shockingly tasty. Like, probably one of the best burgers in the Valley. It felt slightly like cheating since there was nothing distinctly Mexican about it, although the accompanying chili pepper was nice and spicy. I didn't realize that it was served with a side of fries, or I wouldn't have ordered an extra side. We didn't love the quesadilla. There was nothing wrong with it per se, but the consistency was kind of heavy. If you order one, you probably don't need to order anything else. The employees were kind, but the wait times were LONG. I don't know if they were having an "off" day, but orders were taking 30 minutes to come out. While everything was fresh, the wait times seemed excessive for a food truck.
