King's Chef Chinese food has become my goto place when I am craving some black pepper beef or what ever else the cravings are. I always do a pick order and can tell you every time I order the food is delsih! I have ordered black pepper beef, Mongolian beef, Kung Pao chicken, vegetable Lo Mein. Every dish also comes with a side of white rice too.Service has always been friendly and fast, ordering by phone is very easy and by the time I drive their its already completed. If you haven't tried King's Chef yet, you really should! They have great lunch specials too.

First time ordering for takeout. Food was hot and tasty and the servings were generous. Our rice had been forgotten on accident. When we called, the woman we spoke to was so kind and apologetic. She offered us a free item of our choosing if we wanted to come back, which we did. Food was worth the extra trip. We will be back soon!

DO NOT EAT HERE!!! Please. FOUND A WHOLE DEAD COCKROACH IN MY FRIED RICE!!!! We live 5 mins from this place & have ordered a takeout a couple of times in the past...The food is MEDIOCRE & we've always just ordered to support a small bizz & quite frankly, out of convenience bc it's so close to us. And tonight, we ordered a takeout for the same reason, convenience. Picked up food to take to my in-laws with my husband & my 3 yo. But NEVER again.What we ordered:Teriyaki chicken combo, orange chicken combo, veggie lo mein, chicken fried rice & a side of white rice.We got to my in-laws, we started eating & after I had a few bites of the lo mein & orange chicken, I scooped up some fried rice. As I was chewing the rice, I looked down & saw a dead cockroach about the size of a thumbnail IN MY RICE!I instantly threw my food up in my napkin & ran into the kitchen. Then I got nauseous & threw up.A cockroach can carry a bacteria that can contaminate the surrounding foods & cause harm to humans. Google it.I call the restaurant & she tells me, "Oh, that can be gross...hang on...ok, I can issue a refund for the chicken fried rice, but that's it."Excuse me???I packed up all the food (that we barely ate-EVERYONE lost their appetite, but not only that, we were seriously concerned for our health, especially with my 3 year old) & headed back to the restaurant.I recorded the last 6 mins of our interaction as I forgot to hit record from the very beginning.Basically I expressed that this was NOT acceptable & that all this food we consumed could be contaminated, who knows if we'll get sick later on & I need a full refund on my order. The front cashier lady told me that she isn't worried about that as the restaurant has insurance & that she's ONLY authorized to give me a refund on the chicken fried rice.I literally brought the whole order back!!We kept going back & forth...She proceeded to tell me that it's the only cooks & her that's working & that there's nothing she can do. I advised her that she should call the manager/owner WHO HAS AUTHORIZATION to give me a full refund.She kept repeating that the owners who were also the managers weren't going to show up at the restaurant. Is she ok??? I only wanted her to call them so that I could get a full refund. What was she even saying.Then all she kept saying was, "I'm sorry, I just work here & you have to have a code to give full refunds."Huh??? DO YOUR JOB THEN! Where's your MOD? Call them & figure it out.Then she says to me that she feels like I'm trying to bully her. Lastly, she wrote down my phone number & told me that I'm going to get a full refund eventually & that she'll contact the owners to give me cash back the next day.She said she starts work at 11am & she will call me for me to come in to get that refund.Whoever is reading this can decide WTF is right in this situation, but King's Chef in Mesa will NEVER EVER get my business EVER again. As I'm writing this, my tummy is feeling funny...GREAT! Best believe I'll be contacting all necessary authority; AZ health department, etc & reporting them immediately. I'm bummed that tonight is a Friday night & tomorrow is Saturday because no health dept is open on the weekends.This horrifying experience is TO BE CONTINUED...Let's see what happens tomorrow & I PRAY that I or none of my family members get sick. I am traumatized.

The angry lady is gone. The service is much better. The food is still awesome. I ate in for lunch and they actually do a pretty decent job of serving as well, it was a pleasant experience. They are back in the heavy rotation for both lunch and dinner.

This is the worst food I ever ate. I tried it new, late at night Sunday. I spent over 45 dollars, and I only ate the egg drop soup, which was actually pretty good.I wasted time, and money.
