Waited for 30 minutes after ordering while they fulfilled their catering orders. Left without anything. Played Fox News. Waitress had a terrible attitude. Will never return

We placed our annual Christmas order today with J&k. We eat here often... love them! And Christmas is a tradition as well. Placed an order and was told to come pick up at 6:50pm. Came by at 6:55, walked in and they were understandably busy. The waiter said they weren't quite done and needed 10-20 more minutes. Ok... sat in the car for 20 more minutes. 7:25 we walked back inside, and was told that not only was it going to be another 20 minutes, she angrily said that we were early. Yeah... it was now 30 minutes PAST our pickup time and we were "early". Left again, went and picked up drinks down the street, and came back to hear our food was ready at 7:45. No apology or anything. Just got home, served my kids, and my first bite is ice cold. Somehow, our food isn't even hot. Three ice cold entrees. Poor service.

My order was to go so I can't rate the interior of the restaurant. While I would not say their food is spectacular it's also better than many other Chinese joints I've tried. That said and for my first experience, I will rate each item I ordered on a scale to 5 (5 being outstanding).The Orange Chicken 3/5 - In most places, the orange chicken is usually somewhat crispy before it's coated in the sauce but the consistency here was the coating was mushy. The chicken was cooked right but the coating was soft which to me was a bit strange. I'm used to orange chicken having a crispiness to it under all the sauce. The sauce also was not the best I've ever had. It had a somewhat spicy taste. It was almost like spicy meets sweet (if that makes sense) and it wasn't horrible, but to me, nothing special. I'm used to orange chicken having a zest and it's not that J&K's doesn't, it's just I've had better. I ordered mine with fried rice and that leads me to my next category--Fried rice 4/5 -it has egg! Yes this made me happy! It makes me mad when I order fried rice and a substitute is used (such as corn). Not the case here! And it has the veggies fried rice should have! It was cooked perfectly. The only reason I dock a star is because it seemed more oily than other places I've tried. Maybe cut back just a tad on the oil and the fried rice would easily be 5/5.Beef Lo Mein 3/5 -I'm not sure why but the lo-mein had a 'fishy' taste. It tasted almost like shrimp was in it at some point (best way I can describe it). The sauce also was not as thick on this one and I'm not sure if the sauce is the cause of the taste. It's just a slight hint of tasting like seafood and it's not that I don't like seafood, but it doesn't work with beef. It's still edible, it wasn't nasty, but like the orange chicken, just nothing to rave about.The meat rolls (egg-rolls) -5/5. I could eat these all day (and probably be as big as a house!). Crispy, fresh and cooked just right. Delicious. They hit it out of the park here. Definitely recommended.The potstickers -5/5. Like the egg-rolls these are cooked just right and though pan fried, not too greasy (which is why I can't understand the fried rice being greasy. One thing though -i'm not sure why they feel the need to put them on a bed of lettuce? Just a matter of opinion but they would be fine without the lettuce. Taste is good and with pot stickers it's usually one of those appetizers where you either like them or don't. They are good here.The service was quick and the order of all the above was ready in about 20-30 minutes so service I would rate a 5. Portions are HUGE so be prepared to eat A LOT, have leftovers or share.Overall I would give them another chance, but I would probably try other items next time so I can conclude my rating in an update.Three stars for now just because the entree items themselves could be a little bit better. Like I said in the beginning not bad but not the best I've had either where first experiences are concerned.

Not the best. The place didn't seem very clean. Most employees on their phones or screaming at the TV, only one woman who was actually working. Food wasn't AWFUL but was pretty mediocre. Won't come back until they clean up their act and at least pretend to be interested.

Ordered takeout and picked it up on time. The wonton soup was good, however the Pot stickers and sesame chicken was rubbery. The chicken was dry and everything was just soggy and not very flavorful. For spending $60 on takeout I'm really disappointed and feel like I wasted my money.I called them and told them I'd like a refund. They made me bring back the food and still did not issue a full refund. Insane. Terrible customer service. I've worked in restaurants and it's always customer first. Will never eat here again let alone recommend it to anyone.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch. The portions were surprisingly large, and tasted very fresh! For less than $9 we each got soup, salad, an appetizer, a main course and a serving of fried rice. Everything was excellent! Incredible value and flavor, and great service!

I'm in love with J & K's lunchtime bento boxes! I was never a fan of pork egg foo young UNTIL I tried theirs!

We've ordered OVER 25 times! They are the BEST! ALL orders have been delivered very quickly, super fresh, extremely tasty, and all of our orders have been accurate. Nice portions, accurate, even with substitutions! No matter what time of day we order, even busy times, they ALWAYS accommodate and deliver fast and fresh!Thank you, J&K Gourmet! We love you food and highly recommend you to friends and family.

Been eating here for years. Our favorite Chinese food in the Valley. Reminds me of places I've dined at in Chinatown (SF) - simple ambience but terrific food.The Singapore Mai Fun is awesome. Their dinner combos are great.
