This hotel/restaurant is right next door to where we are staying. We landed on an early evening flight after flying all day. So we decided to come to dinner where near by. I'm so happy we did. We walked in and we were greeted my the girl working at the front desk. She said the restaurant was straight ahead. We walked right on and we were greeted by the guy wiring here tonight. We ordered our salads, drinks and everything came out very quickly. I'm so glad that they're open abs they were close by to where we are staying. The ambiance is a cute little room with some tables abs chairs. Plus of course a bar to sit at. Come to this place if you're not wanting the waffle House next door.

The place is inside my hotel nd quite frankly I was not expecting very much from a hotel restaurant. Boy was I wrong! The first night I ordered a cheeseburger, got back late and just wanted a simple burger. This thing was huge, and cooked perfectly. I thought maybe that was an anomaly "anyone can cook a burger" I thought. Well the second night I had the Korean steak bowl and it was fantastic! They definitely are a little short staffed but I didn't have anywhere to be, and the beer was cold and hockey was on. Great food, friendly people and not overcrowded...Perfect in my book...

I stayed at the hotel and with limited food options to walk to, I decided to eat at the hotel restaurant. I'm glad I did! The waitstaff was attentive and the service was so quick! The veggie burger was the best veggie burger I've had. So flavorful and filled with veggies. Plus, bonus points for the deli pickle on the side. I can't wait to get back to have another veggie burger there!!

The Good:My chicken flat bread was tastyService was good and fastThere's a full barThe BadFood selection was limitedAmbiance lackingThe Skinny: If you're staying at one of the three adjacent hotels (Drury, Extended Stay, and Hilton Garden Inn) this is a great alternative to Waffle House, or going out somewhere, or having pizza brought in. I was staying at the Drury Hotel and I hadn't eaten all afternoon. So at 7:30 PM I asked the front desk attendant if the Waffle House across the street was still open. Trying to save me food trauma, she said, "Ugh, no, stay away...their food all tastes stale with lots of grease..." With that, she added the small cafe inside Hilton Garden Inn next door was a better bet. Several of the guests who just returned from there said they liked the food there. So, I'm glad I listened. The place is tiny and part of the bright lighted hotel lobby. So, it's not great ambiance wise. It's got a large screen TV, like a mini sports bar, with a bunch of guys at the bar away from their spouses, with jokes and alcohol that flowed freely. I just wanted something to eat. The selection was limited, lots of sandwiches but there were some items that I definitely was interested in. I wanted either the grilled chicken sandwich with fries for about $11, or the spicy chicken flat bread for about $10. I asked the waitress for her recommendation, and she said, "Hands down the flat bread, there is a lot more flavor. And she was right. It's a perfect size for most people, though my 22 year old 6'4" Samoan nephew would want three. Anyway, it's got white chicken cubes and cheese atop sliced carrots, cilantro, and green onions with a sweet and hot chili paste at the crisp crusted bottom. It was topped with a mayo-chili tomato sauce. I wanted an IPA with it. But I had to walk 100 yards to my hotel full of SWAT officers driving in and staying the night. Anyway, the waitress was good about refilling my coke, and was prompt bring the check when I was done. Meanwhile, the Waffle House was as empty at 7:30 as it was 8:00 when I walked by. No grease for me tonight.

Monday night, I was starving. I rarely eat at the hotel; 95% of the time I eat out. Gives me a chance to get away and not feel so cooped up. The closest place I wanted to eat was 15 minutes away. I decided to eat here at the hotel in the Great American Grill. Big mistake....From the time I got to my room till about 15 minutes later when I decided I wasn't going anywhere, the restaurant apparently became much busier (grammar?--I'm tired) and the wait for food was 30-35 minutes according to the person taking my order. Amazing....!! I was starving and willing to wait as it would've been about the same time to drive somewhere and order and I was tired. Monday's are long travel and work days, waking up at 4am to be at the airport by 5:30am, you travelers know how that is!!!I ordered the Tuscan Ragout and it made my mouth water. I was starving mind you...it came with a side salad. I said I would go downstairs to pick it up to save a little money. 30 minutes later, I went downstairs and waited a few more minutes until it was brought out and I paid. Got back upstairs, began to eat and it tasted like crap. Normally when you are starving, liver tastes good. This wasn't liver, it was supposed to be several steps up but it might as well have been dung. I was extremely disappointed. What was supposed to be a simple meal made me mad at myself for not going out, even though I was very tired. I didn't get back to the hotel till 7:30pm and hadn't eaten in about 7 hours. Oh well, lesson learned. Stay away from this dish. Maybe the salmon or steak is okay, but you are much better off exploring the town and eating some local cuisine.

The Garden Grille and Bar at the Phoenix Airport Hilton Garden Hotel!!!The restaurant is low-key and very unassuming, tucked away directly at the end of the lobby as you enter the hotel. There is a quaint bar and a few spattering of tables for guests to converge for some small talk. There is a door adjacent to the restaurant/bar that leads outside to more tables just next to the hotel pool. What becomes surprising is this hidden jewel is just waiting here to liberate your senses to be amazed to the best food and service they will experience at this Hilton Garden Hotel! The food is simple, but over-the-top in its taste, mixture of flavors, and just sumptuous deliciousness! The bar adds that kicker to quench your thirst to your meal or just sit while enjoying company or solitude (whatever you desire) in this hidden setting. The Street Tacos started my evening as my appetizer. The Smoked Pulled Pork was so satisfying that I was tickled pink with the happiest smile after the first bite and burst of Southwest flavors! All the elements of ingredients mixed so well together that it added just the right amount to the wonderfulness of this starter dish!Next, the Fusilli Carbonara caught my eye and went straight to my stomach! So delicious....from the first bite to the very last bite! With the Add-Ons of Korean Mixed Vegetables and Redskin Mashed Potatoes, the meal and international flavors were now complete! As we say in Hawaiian, it was Ono!!Nuff Said!!
