Gold Stallion Restaurant

The bartender was too busy to notice our empty glasses we put at the edge of the bar over & over. The fish on the fish & chips fell apart into tiny pieces when I picked it up to try to dip it in tarter sauce. I told the bartender I'd like them to fix me a better one if it would come out properly cooked. She indicated it could come out the same so I ordered onion rings instead. They came out dripping with oil. The onion rings woke me up in the middle of the night. They had made stomach acid climb up into my throat. Now, the next morning, my stomach is not doing well. The decor is pretty cool but the stacks of bar supplies & beer behind the bar looks tacky.

Consistently good. I've eaten here a few times, and it's always tasty. Fries were a bit salty. Still, definitely worth trying!

After finishing our fantastic hike at Gold Canyon, my husband and I were hungry and found this cute local diner/dive bar. We ordered a few items to share, the Stallion cobb salad with chicken, a cup of the chicken tortilla soup and chicken wings. Our server was incredibly nice and informed us that the kitchen was pretty behind today. She gave us a larger bowl of soup to make sure we weren't "hangry". It was quite delicious! It did take about an hour before the rest of the food arrived, but we passed our time by reading a book together. The Cobb salad was the most impressive dish and definitely more than enough for 2 people to share! I would say it got the job done and satiated our hunger, but it wasn't anything extraordinary. For the time it took our food to arrive, we could've just driven back, got lunch in our city and made it home.

Karrie is excellent and just keeps the drink flowing. And she always knows what we like!

On a road trip... when we first got to the restaurant this was exactly what we wanted: something local. We ordered a few medium temp burgers, but unfortunately they were burnt. Otherwise, the sweet potato fries and Hottie Tottie (medicine ball drink) were great and got me feeling better from this cold.

Delicious fresh tasty food and superior service. Can't say enough about this wonderful place if you're coming to go canyon you have to eat here. !

The views are amazing with good food. Had the special and it was large enough to share with 2 people. The onion rings were a great app.

HORRIBLE SERVICE - HORRIBLE EXPERIENCENOT WORTH A SECOND CHANCEHave driven by this place probably 100 times and finally decided to try lunch there. Took my 91 year old Dad and disappointment can't begin to cover our experience.Basic accomodations for a large bar/small restuarant - tables and chairs where some sit bar height and an equal amount are set low.We seated ourselves and were greeted with menus. By the time the person arrived with our water, we were ready to order. We went simple with a cup of soup, fried zucchini appetizer and an order of fish and chips. Watching other patrons, it seemed to take a little longer for the food to arrive.First the good: the lemon water was perfect, the coleslaw was standard fare and the potatoes/chips were tasty. They must have been baked because....The rest was unedible due to the heavy grease. So greasy in fact, that both my father and I had stomach aches within 15 minutes of eating. He said his clam chowder was too salty, but I didn't try it so it might just be his opinion.At no point did our server ever come by to see if we needed anything, wanted more water, nothing.We waited almost 15 minutes for a check, until I had to approach someone saying we wanted to leave. A different person brought the check. When leaving, the person behind the bar (who had been doing nothing but visiting with staff while we were there), came over and apologized that she was our sever and was sorry she'd been too busy to "attend to us properly".

Don't go there if more than 3 cars are in the lot, 2 servers can't handle the numbers. Waited 6 minutes to get seated. 35 minutes to get my food and only after I asked one server to get mine. When I said "I was wondering if someon had to go fish for my fish and chips" comment from her was not an apology but a smart ass "we only have one chef so it takes longer.' She never checked on me the entire 45 minutes I sat there; never offered a 2nd drink. Dropped the food off and did not ask if I needed anything else. Had to go through 1/2 the meal with nothing to drink. Her tip: find a different line of employment. The food was great after i finally got it but definitely not worth the lousey service.
