I mentioned I liked walking around and birdwatching and a local recommended this park. It's flat and paved .. you walk around the lake and occasionally the fountain goes or off. Lots of birds and most I had no idea what they were till looked them up on goggle. glad i took my camera. popular place to jog or walk the dog. Would have been a fast walk but I kept stopping to take pics and look at birds. Did not see the cute rosy faced lovebirds here but we have them at our families. The love birds are in the Phoenix and Scottsdale area diff check them out. I recommend the Merlin app to identify and attract birds .. its free. and YouTube to make their sounds.

Fountain Hills has always had a special place in my heart. My great-grandma lived here and I have fond memories of playing in the desert and watching the fountain from her front yard reach the skies. It was here that I learned my respect for snakes as it was the first time I had encountered a rattlesnake who was basking on a boulder I wanted to play on. Thankfully, the rattle warned me, and no harm came to me. Fun fact - In 1970 the fountain was built in hopes of attracting homebuyers to the area. It used to be the world's tallest fountain, standing 560 ft tall. As of March 2024, King Fahd's Fountain in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia is the world's tallest fountain at 1,023.62 feet (312 meters). Now as an adult, I have taken loved ones to enjoy the majestic fountain while having a picnic on a cool day. After the picnic, there is a 1.2-mile looped trail that is pretty and easy to explore. * The fountain goes off every hour for 15 minutes between 9:00 am-9:00 pm.

A very beautiful area where many events are held. Unfortunately the fountain was not operating today. The fountain is quite spectacular when it is operational. There are plenty of places to walk, bike or relax on the grass for a picnic. Todays event was a large art show which is visited by many. Many free lots of parking and WiFi in the area.

Great small town with lots of restaurants and a big Fountain Park in the middle of the town. Quiet, diverse population with lots of seniors/retirees. A great place to visit or possibly live, if you can deal with the fact that you're an hour from Phoenix and nestled up in the mountains (lots of curvy mountain driving).

My wife took me here for the first time on our anniversary week last year. We had a picnic and on the hour we watched the fountain.. even though it was summer underneath a tree, there was a breeze, and it was quite wonderful. We recently came here again and enjoyed a local restaurant. This would be perfect to come in the fall or winter as there's a pathway that walks around the waterfall.

Loved the views around here, definantly a high class area. there's not a lot to do at first glance but if you take a bike ,or go on foot,or even drive in a car,you will soon see everything that this place has to offer, I also recomend the atv rental place on shea blvd. called desert dogs you can't go wrong there. I visited a couple of stores around here on my 5.5 mile walk around the city and every last one that I went into was very nice and clean with respectful and quick staff.and might I add the bicycle crews.I don't know why but I always love a community that has bicyclists everywhere.it sometimes let's you know it's a little safe there to but just sometimes.you will never not have what you need there are stores and restaurants and hotels everywhere here and is just a breath of fresh air wile cruising through the Arizona desert.

So beautiful! What a gorgeous park. I am dog sitting in Fountain Hills for the weekend and took the dog to the park for a walk. The park and whole town has such a great community neighborhood welcoming feel. People were very friendly on the walk; plenty of ducks to feed, kids playing on the playground, folks exercising. The fountain goes off at the top of the hour for about 10-15 minutes; beautiful scene always and even more so at sunset. It took roughly about 15 minutes to walk around the lake back to the car.Beautiful scenes of the mountains and hills in the distance as well. Verandas, BBQ and picnic tables and art structures throughout the park too. I will definitely be back!

My name is Mark Miller and I will be putting on the World's Largest Pickleball Lesson in Scottsdale on 11/2 for free. I wanted it in Fountain Hills my favorite town in America. The kids of FH will be missing out due to a couple of individuals. I would like to thank the following individuals who are all about kids. The Superintendent of Fountain Hills schools, Hannah council member,Gerry council member, Georgie's Diner, DJ Bagel, Euro.Jan Goodman President of Fountain Hills Pickleball would not let me use the courts because I am not a member. Reached out to the Mayor several times, no response. Mayor would you have called me back if I stated something about a donation to your campaign. I really hope Gerry becomes mayor. Town Manager did email me.....I did ask her to call me but I think she is way to important to call me. Its like a work for her. Ryan, Mr. Park District finally called me back after several calls. He told me the courts near The Boys and Girls Clubs were to small. Ryan, you have no clue you are a Park District guy. I put on The World's Largest Tennis Lesson for 400 kids in gym in Chicago. Wilson Sporting Goods was my corporate sponsor. we were on ABC/NBC/National Magazines. FYI .....Mr. Park District I can put 100 kids on that court and make it work. I know for sure I can think out of the box and a Park District guy does not have him to think out of the box.The bottom Line: I really believe Jan,Mayor,Town Manager, Park District guy need to apologise to the kids and parent of FH. I quess Scottsdale kids and parents will have a blast.
