El Potrero Carniceria

Anytime I am craving Chicharones con carne this is the spot to go! The meat is so fresh, flavorful and juicy! we get half a pound for 5$ and then purchase some hot tortillas for 4$ which a Diet Coke for a $1 for 10$ you have a meal to share for two people! It's delicious and a great deal!

This carniceria is legit. Best carne in town, when I am around the town of Mesa I stock up on meat. The staff members are super friendly and helpful if you have questions. The place is a little market with everything you need, a meat market, and it has fresh salsas. It also has cooked meals you can grab like some chicharrones, which are meaty. Great place to check out if you are around the area.

Sept 20, 2019 FriThis will be the 3rd time in the past several years I have visited El Potrero.Each time I have visited the staff is extremely helpful and patient. I don't speak a lick of Spanish and when I have questions about what something is, they patiently explain to me what it is. I appreciate that very much.The first two times I was here I had the street taco special and they are freaking fantastic.I also bought a few pounds of chicharron and some corn tortilla for later. Their chicharron is some of the highest quality. The meat is tender, and moist, with a very slight crisp to the render pork belly outside. $6.99 lb.Many of the place I go each piece is about 1/2 meat 1/2 pork belly. Here it is about 3/4 meat and a 1/4 pork belly.Many places I go to and buy ready to eat chicharron the pork belly portion and meat are often overcooked. The fat is often so hard and overcooked it is almost like dust when you bite into it, and the meat is like straw pieces.When that pork belly fat layer is cooked just right its incredible even when it's a thicker layer. Sadly this rarely occurs. But El Potrero nails it each time I've had it.You can of course purchase the real deal Coke made with sugar here. I prefer it over the high fructose syrup they make in the US markets.I wish this place was much closer to home because it's hard to justify a 24 mile drive from home for a bite to eat.Keep up the great work, thank you.

It was very good and affordable. Very authentic food and environment. This spot is for the real ones.

My boyfriend and I were driving down the street with the windows rolled down, it was an usually nice day for Arizona, and we were hit by the most amazing smell of meat. After running our errands, we decided to come back and find the source of that amazing meat smell and investigate further.We came across El Potrero Carniceria. We were a little hesitant due to the low rating on yelp, but decided that our noses knew better.It seems to be a typical Carniceria, but we didn't really look around at the aisles because we were so hungry! My boyfriend wanted me to order for our first time there because I'm more comfortable Spanish, though it probably wasn't necessary. We got our order right in, and stood around waiting. The guy at the register came around and started talking to us. He was very friendly, basically giving a little background on the stuff to eat and even gave free samples of the chicharones, stewed and deep fried (omg! Both sooooooo good!).Anyways, we got our burritos and they were HUGE. I could seriously only eat half! The flavor was so good! The meat was so tender. I have included a picture so you guys can see with your own eyes and not listen to the haters! Please do yourself a flavor and give them a try! Thank you, El Potrero for a wonderful experience. My absolute favorite place for tacos! I am literally here every single Sunday evening with my family. Keep in mind this is not a restaurant. It is a cañiceria where people go to take food to go / a very small meat market. Although this particular place does have 4 tables of 4 where you are able to sit and eat your food. So if you happen to come here on a busy day you might not find a place to sit. The tacos come plain and you can top your tacos however you'd like at the salsa bar. I recommend keeping the red salsa limited due to it being extremely spicy! Unless of course you like it! Everything is amazing here the staff is also so kind and welcoming! I haven't been satisfied at another taco place since I've had these tacos.

If you like authentic Mexican food, El Potrero Carniceria is the place to go. They not only have an awesome selection of Mexican cuisine, but also a great variety of desserts such as pan dulce and arroz con leche. Not only can you enjoy a meal but you also have the convenience of doing your own grocery shopping. This place has it all from ice cream to pinatas for a kids party that can be special ordered. So enjoy a dine in experience or take out there famous tacos, tortas and burritos. The beans in my opinion are mind blowing, there hint of chipotle adds an authentic taste.

Went here to grab a burrito and it was definitely worth going. The carne tasted fresh but I wish I would've added more ingredients to it. Really really good though compared to other places that I have been.

Coming from an Arizonan, this is the go-to spot for tacos. Can't seem to match it or find better. Will always be the spot in my book. Straight fuego

I love Potrero! The Carne Asada is full of flavor. They actually have a grill right out front. I smell the beautiful smoke every morning!
