I was visiting Mesa and craving Mexican food when I found this place on Yelp. I was shocked to pull up to a gas station but was pleasantly surprised after picking up an order from the drive through. I found the food to be quite good and generous in portions. It was prepared to order, not marinating under a heat lamp. Here I am back for a second time!

I ordered delivery from here and was very very impressed. I order taco delivery 50+ times a year and this place's outstanding street tacos were so authentic and good - it might be in my top 10 go-to delivery spots anywhere in the USA. Don't believe me? Look at alllll the taco place reviews I've written over the years!I was especially impressed with their Al Pastor and their Barbacoa tacos, with the Pollo Asado not far behind. All were truly authentic, well-seasoned, generously filled and SO inexpensive. Soooo many places screw up Al Pastor but not El Gordo.I got my order lightning fast. Yes, delivery orders sometimes depend on the driver but they also depend on the restaurant and El Gordo made these super super quickly. They were still piping hot when I got them (I am about 15 minutes' drive from the spot). I was so mega-impressed with this place that I've saved it on Google Maps as a place I absolutely have to visit in person!

The food is amazing. The service is absolutely horrible. If you try to order over the phone they will literally pick up and hang up on you. This has happened several times. They close at 10 but if you call or show up at 9:45 they will tell you they're closed. Again this happened to me several (more than five) times. If you close at 10 then you should answer your phone and take orders until 10. Otherwise you are setting customers up for failure.

Amazing Mexican food whether it's the steak ranchero plate for breakfast, or a quesadilla. I love their guacamole and their salsa packs a punch, which I love! Salsa can make or break a place! I order both from Ubereats, and from going in to place an order to go. They are very friendly, but I do wish they had more seating as this is attached to a gas station. But some of the best places are the little holes in the wall!

DONT WASTE UR $$ CALORIES OR TIME...We ordered 3 bean cheese burros, super nachos and quesadilla. They gave us 6 little red sauces for our whole meal. We asked for more and the young lady said she had to charge us. We told her the amount and she said one for each burrito, 2 for nachos and 1 for quesadillas. We let her know to tell management that it's not fair and left. The food was mediocre, we'll never give them our hard heard $$ again.

Legit Birria ramen. My go to spot when I'm really hungry and nothing else will scratch the itch. The service is great and prices are reasonable. Bring your appetite that birria ramen is a lot of food.

It's very frustrating when the hours listed says 11pm and you pull up at 10:30 for the lady to tell you they close at 10:30pm but a few days ago we were able to order at 10:45pmI then go inside to ask why the hours change so often and the cashier says it all depends on how dirty and busy it was during the day....so hours depend on the workers that day or hours are set for a reason? I'm beyond frustrated that I drove 20min thinking 30min before close would be more than enough time to get food

Here we go again. Pulled into the drive thru a few minutes ago, no cars in front of me, and again... after a couple of minutes, no one acknowledging that I was even there. Ended up pulling through and going somewhere else for breakfast. I guess they don't need the sales from the drive thru

They have really good burritos! Carne asada and the best breakfast steak and potato's . They have several locations but this one so far is the best ! The carne asada Torta with beans is also so good !
