El Gordo Mexican Grill

Always a solid place for tasty eats that are affordable. I usually Ubereats order, and the food is always spot on and fresh. Definitely a great Mexican breakfast, and will be a regular whether visiting the location or ordering through Ubereats!

This is my go to hands down the quesabirria streetstacos quesadillas im let's just say I think I might've tried everything on the menu and if I haven't my family has we love this place

My husband and I have been watching the Taco Chronicles on Netflix, last week we finished the Al Pastor episode and let me tell you, we have been craving it ever since. We knew we'd have a few days in Apache Junction this week, so we started searching for a place, and as soon as we saw that this place had good reviews for Al Pastor, we plugged it into the GPS. El Gordo's did not disappoint! My husband ordered three regular tacos, the Al Pastor, Birria and Cabeza. I ordered three regular tacos, Al Pastor, Birria and Carne Asada. The Carne Asada wasn't my favorite, it was good, just not a ton of flavor. But the Birria and the Al Pastor were the best! Absolutely delicious. I only put 4 stars because my father in law ordered the Carnitas taco and the Carne Asada and he didn't care for the flavor or texture, just not tender enough. But everything else was muy bueno.

My partner ordered from them via Uber Eats as he had a promotion and they had a discount. He ordered 3 cabeza tacos, 2 barbacoa, and wings. He said on their menu they just have wings and fries and he put in the order noted asking for no fries but perhaps a few more wings. They honored his request. The food was hot and smelled so good through the bag. Both the barbacoa and cabeza were so tender with the barbacoa melting in my mouth. Their red and green sauces are good and pack a really nice heat. The tortilla were soft and the limes juicy (can't stand a dried out lime). The wings were cooked well. Meaty and they have a good ranch. Will definitely order from here again.

Sun 3/20 at noon I ordered 2 of the taco plates! Their menu SHOWS 2 tacos with "$3.25" next to it. I naturally expected 4 Tacos with "2 orders". Instead I got one box with 2 tacos! I said I wanted 2 orders. He opens the box and said "there's 2". I said again I paid almost $8. I wanted 2 orders. Apparently the tacos are $3.25 EACH even though the menu clearly shows 2 TACOS with $3.25 next to it!!! Then, he acts like I'M stupid! For one thing, I do high end tech support, and you're a cashier at a taco stand, and you're gonna act like I'm dumb?!? For another thing, they can't even make their menu accurate. AND 2 orders should come in 2 boxes!! Hello!! Put an "Each" on the menu. Don't treat your customer like they're stupid just because you have no clue how to make a menu correctly!! I absolutely won't be back!!!

Service is friendly and the food is 5 star! The value is undeniable. Try the Quesabirria combo. The chicken quesadilla is also amazing. Fresh, made to order, and quick! What more could you ask for! I have tons of company from the Midwest and no one leaves without trying it!

Amazing Birria tacos and the Al pastor is absolutely worth the drive! Friendly service...highly recommended!!

Okay I stopped by here a few minutes ago and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the carne asada taco plate it was good. The staff was friendly and the convenience of a drive through food truck was awesome! I'm usually not too impressed with most food trucks but folks this is a good one. Also there is a drive through liquor store in the same parking lot which is where I purchased the Dos Equis XX pictured. Last but not least everyone remember to post the GOOD reviews not just the angry Bad reviews. It's easy to forget to post sometimes when you had a good time.

AMAZING! I got the pastor burrito as a combo meal and the strawberry churro. The pastor was delicious and saucy! The churro was warm and tasty. Quick service and great price!
