Pollo Asado Specialty, went from the best pollo asado in town to maybe the worst.

Stopped here on the way home from a cabin up north. We really liked it. The views were great, neat patio, authentic food and good service.

I've had this location bookmarked to try when in the area, and finally had a moment to take a visit out to Gold Canyon. Very beautiful background and the patio looked amazing - but packed so we sat inside. Plus it was 92° out, so inside sounded better on a warmer day. We waited upwards of 5+ minutes to be acknowledged, and noticed no one seated inside. My Yelp Bestie and I should have taken that as a sign. It's both FREEZING inside and constantly hearing DOOR as employees go through the door to/from the kitchen. It may be a beautiful location, but the temperature and noise hinder the ambiance.Once seated we waited almost 10 minutes before our server came over, and they asked for both beverage and food order. I am not sure if this was intentional, but we both found ourselves thirsty eating chips/salsa. As for the food, the price point is higher than some local places in Apache Junction and East Mesa. Portions make the price point worth it. As for flavor? The food is nothing special. The rice and beans lacked flavor, but definitely edible. Overall, it just doesn't leave a memorable experience and we would likely not return.

This used to be one of my favorite out of the way Mexican restaurants. So disappointing. It's been a couple of years since I have been here. It was definitely not as good as I remember. The pollo asada chicken was bland and expensive. I ordered it as a burrito last time and it may have been the best burrito in Phoenix. Not anymore. Completely uninspiring. It was LOUD in the restaurant. The tables are huge and too close together. The temperature inside the restaurant was FREEZING.Not worth the trip to Gold Canyon anymore.

We were in outrageous traffic leaving the Renaissance Festival, so we decided to get off the road and have some dinner while waiting for it to clear, and De la Cruz Mexican Grille was right there on our path. We were glad to be able to be seated immediately on a Saturday, and liked the ambiance of the patio space -- with its trees, bistro lights, and fireplace -- very much. The food was good, though it was generally a bit under seasoned. The Ahi Tuna Tacos were the better of the two entrees (solid four stars to them, really). The tuna was well-cooked, and the fish combined nicely with the avocado, onion, and cream sauce. I'd recommend them! The Carne Asada plate wasn't as strong, flavor-wise, but was still a good entree. The service could have been better. Though all the staff were friendly, they also seemed a bit disorganized. Our server was definitely doing his best, but the team as a whole didn't seem to be communicating as well as they might have, so a few things like water refills or chips and salsa slipped through the cracks. Even so, our food did come out quickly and correctly, and, as I said, our server was very friendly!

Stopped here after an evening event at BTA. While it was crowded, still able to get a seat. Hubby ordered the killer chimichanga with pork. When I check our last yelp review he ordered the same thing. And he still loved it. Thank I tried the shrimp rellano. Wow. It was great.

Been here around 5 times, and I always thought it was a bit expensive. Last time we were there I had them text our receipt (cause the girl didn't give a copy) and realized the girl added $15.40 for her gratuity (5 people in our party). We tipped her $15 (22%). It's wrong to add a tip to a party of five. We won't be coming back...

Really friendly service and delicious food. I had the veggie enchiladas, other people at my table had tamales and tacos and a taco salad.

We ordered the chile relleno, they are really delicious. The environment is welcoming and our waitress Tina went above and beyond service. Definitely returning.

We went here for our first time tonight, and it was busy,we did not mind the wait. We were seated outside and brought chips, salsa and waters and than our waitress took our order. She returned with our drinks and even after some time come back and offered another basket of chips since the wait was longer than expected. Soon after my food arrived but not my friend who with me. We assumed her food would be right out but as I ate my food and hers never arrived and no one came back to check in after 30 minutes from my food arriving my friend left to go home and eat. I had to request my check from another waitress and upon receiving asked to have my friends food removed that she never got. Come to find out that her food was on the serving station the whole time except it was never brought out. My food was great but the service and lack of service we will not be back.
