I happily discovered Cynthia's Crumbly Creations @cynthiascrumblycreations on Instagram and started following her because she is a small local business that bakes primarily fruit tarts, a huge family favorite. She is also on Facebook and has just started a Yelp account. She bakes a lot of sweet dessert treats besides fruit tarts.I contacted Cynthia through Instagram three days before Hub's birthday, thinking I had waited too long and I was too late to get a custom order. She answered me immediately and said that it would be no problem and three days is enough time . She mentioned that fruit tarts can be ready within the same day usually because they are faster to prepare. I was looking to order a cake. I asked for a white cake with chocolate frosting. She provided me examples of decorations and asked me several questions about filling and toppings.A $20 deposit is required and I paid that easily through Zelle. You can also pay cash when you pick up your order. To pick up, we arranged a convenient spot and time near both of us. When I arrived at the pick up site, she was already there and had my cakes in the trunk ready for delivery. Cynthia is a very attentive and caring baker. She wanted to know how we liked the cake and any improvements we could provide to her. I felt the joy and happiness she had for us enjoying her creation as we parted and I knew that her baked items would be filled with love and care.Something that I really appreciated about her delivered cakes is that she sticks the paper and the cardboard bottom holding the cake to the box with a little bit of sticky. Usually, I'm trying to drive carefully when I have a cake in my car because it will slide everywhere and stick to the sides of the carton. It was very nice to discover that she had stabilized the cake in the center of the container and it kept it safe during transport. She did the same thing with the mini tarts that she baked for us last minute because I told her how much we loved fruit tarts. She literally baked them within a few hours before pick up and had them ready with fresh fruit on top - so delicious!When our cake was done, Cynthia texted me a picture of the cake and,"I really hope you like it, it's entirely made from scratch - flour, egg whites, pure vanilla, butter and oil, the buttercream frosting as well". I was so happy to read this because I appreciate high-quality and clean ingredients and I know that one usually can't find this when getting cakes from the local grocery store or out of a box.If you're looking to support a small local business who puts a lot of love and attention into your custom order, you must try this business.
