Bought some fresh produce from crooked farms today from the gilbert farmers market. They had a good selection to choose from and everything was fresh! I got potatoes, peppers, and mixed greens. I already tried the peppers and mixed greens to make a salad and it's delicious! Nice people working the tent at the market too. Would buy from them again.

There are from 30 to 40 ducks being kept by the entrance held in squalid and cruel conditions. The tarp only covers about a quarter of the space they're in. Their drinking water is black. I pass this farm three days a week. If you have a conscience, you will not buy from this farm until they change the living conditions for these ducks.

Currently they have fresh sweet corn, tomatos, and summer squash. I bought some last week and everything was very good but the sweet corn is amazing. They picked it for me when I arrived and I went straight home and cooked it. Everyone thought it was the best ever! The changed the hours for summer, new hours are 7AM to 12 noon.

You all have probably been reading everywhere these days about living more green and might have heard about joining your local CSA. CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture and you basically get weekly freshly harvested produce, from right in your own backyard. Now, I want to say that I do work at Crooked Sky Farms but I have to say they have figured it out. They have CSA pick-up locations all over Arizona and have been doing it for a few years. So, you can't just take my word for it. There are over 800 families subscribing to the farm to get seasonal greens, root veggies, beans, potatoes, watermelons, tomatoes, corn, peppers...you get the idea. This is pretty amazing that we have this in Arizona of all places!!If you want to support local agriculture, this is the way to do it. However, there are only a few locations in Phoenix to pick-up but keep your eyes out, they might be growing soon. Please keep in mind that when you grow produce without any chemical pesticides, fertilizers and fungicides, the food might have some critter holes in in, but don't worry, it doesn't take away from the awesome flavor. Really, I was blown away that even the lettuce had such a great taste. Okay, this is my first review and I hope it's a good one. :)

The produce was nice and fresh, looked great but I do have to say that I don't think it was worth $18. For that price I got one bundle of carrots, char, radishes, mustard greens, and three oranges. Organic at Sprouts, I think this would cost half the price. Don't believe the conveniency of picking it up near work is worth double the price. Gave them two stars because the produce did look and taste great. If they decrease their price I would certainly purchase from them in the future.
