So, my friend and I decided to check out Copper and Sage for dinner, but we were those people--you know, the ones who show up early like overeager dinner party guests. The hostess, clearly trained in the art of customer wrangling, kindly redirected us to their bar next door, probably to prevent us from loitering awkwardly in the entrance like lost tourists. The bar was a vibe--great ambiance, comfy chairs, and bartenders who actually seemed happy to be there (a rare breed). The drinks? Whether boozy or booze-free, they were chef's kiss--though let's be honest, anything in a fancy glass makes me feel like a VIP.Once we were seated in the restaurant, we found ourselves at a cozy table--cozy as in, "we might as well be adopted into the next table's family," but hey, it worked. We kicked things off with fried green tomatoes and deviled eggs, because why not start dinner with breakfast-adjacent foods? Then we moved on to the duck and mussels, which were both fantastic--like, "I will now compare all future meals to this and be disappointed" fantastic. Our server was a rockstar--attentive, helpful, and an absolute sommelier-in-training when it came to picking a wine. Honestly, if this place had a loyalty program, I'd be signing up immediately. Definitely going back, and next time, I might even pretend I have reservations just to seem fancy.

3.5Midtown Phoenix is positively bursting with fantastic restaurants these days! It seems a new gem appears on the scene every other week. This (kinda) latest addition, Copper and Sage, has its work cut out for it, nestled as it is amongst so many established favorites. But they've certainly created a lovely atmosphere - think cozy, dimly lit library or a secret speakeasy, with a charming enclosed patio that just beckons you to relax. We opted to dine inside on this visit. We decided to try their double patty smash burger ($17) and the Arugula Salad with Scottish Salmon ($12 + $14). The prices seemed to align with what you'd expect in this neighborhood. Now, let me tell you about the fries. Oh, the fries! They were the real showstopper. Perfectly crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and bursting with flavor. Seriously, some of the best I've had. The smash burger was quite good too - a solid contender. The salad, though... well, the salmon was a bit of a puzzle. I'm a huge salmon fan. I eat it multiple times a week, and while Pacific King is my usual go-to, I generally adore it in any form. But this particular salmon left me a little perplexed. It wasn't bad, just not quite hitting the mark for me. Which is a shame, because everything else about the experience was so promising. Honestly, those fries alone are enough to make me want to give Copper and Sage another try, and I'd definitely be willing to give the salmon a second chance. The other highlight of this meal was Ace, our server! Loved her! Return Factor: 35%If you include the atmosphere, I'd bump the RF to 50%.

There are a lot of really good restaurants in this area. Hillstone, The Gladly, Buck & Rider, The Henrey, Global Ambassador, Clever Koi, The Parlor, you name it. I think because there are so many good places it makes it hard for places that are just okay to stand out. The food was alright but the price points are just a bit much for what you actually end up with.Service is pretty bad, long greet times, unfriendly folks inside,it just didn't feel as welcoming as what a place that positions themselves as "craft" should be.We'll see what happens. It's hard to make your mark in that area. I bet their location in Goodyear does well.

A great dinner with the girls. I love how moody the place was with the low lighting and the bookshelves. We ordered the Bourbon Deviled Eggs, Fritto Misto, and Bacon Wrapped Dates as appetizers to share - all great choices. My favorite of the 3 was the Bacon Wrapped Dates. I would have never thought of combining pistachios, dates, and spicy honey together but it works so well! The Bourbon Deviled Eggs were a crowd favorite as well. For the main dish, I ordered the Pan Seared Scallops. Scallops were great but the parmesan risotto was only ok. For dessert, we ordered the Cast Iron Brownie. It came with vanilla ice cream and it was pretty straight forward.

Came here for a work dinner and it was great to get a couple appetizers to share and the food was good. I like the dark cozy atmosphere and elevated feel.

We did family style ordering a variety of vegetarian starters and sides. Nothing disappointed from the peppers to the girts to the mac and cheese. 5 starters and sides gave three of us to try and had the equivalent of enough food for one meal for one. Overall very nice. I would recommend. Service was nice. The decor was an unexpected brighter version of seasons 52 and giving a younger vibe.

We came as a large group for brunch and had a reservation. Our table was ready when we arrived, which was great, and our waitress seated us promptly. Our waitress was nice, but was not able to describe drinks on the drink menu as she was under 21. I waitressed before I was 21 but learning about the drinks was part of my training. She also called us "love" or "babe" EVERY single time she spoke and interrupted us multiple times unnecessarily to announce something like she'd be getting waters for the table. Super nice but just seemed a little awkward and unaware. Sorry babe! We got beignets and a cinnamon roll as starter snacks. The beignets were really good! The cinnamon roll was too cinnamon-y for my taste but seemed popular with others. Another woman dropped off some drinks and mentioned, as she dropped off one, that it was the only one she hadn't tried, so I tried to ask her my question about the drinks and she said something like she doesn't normally work there? I was very confused. I just got another bloody mary. I got the pork belly brunch tacos. The pork belly was just a little on the too crispy/chewy/dry side but was very generous. The avocado toast looked really good! I don't think anyone really loved their food but it was all pretty fine. On the other hand, the breakfast potatoes were NOT fine. These were like thick potato chips and on some plates were soft and on some were cooked to an absolute crisp, but in neither case were they seasoned. This was an insult to potatoes.

The restaurant is a cool place that is kind of trendy. The vibe is very high-end, classy. The food looked fancy. The pasta looked good and placed in nice pasta dish. The scallops were laid nicely. A very few small items of the noodles need to make made better, very brittle. And the scallops were a bit salty. Our service was okay. She was not great but not terrible. Only noticed her level and service lacked because the table next to us had a different waitress and was given more information on food/items and more in responsiveness.

We had a great time here for dinner! Parking lot was packed and we ended up parking next door (no issues). We showed up as walk-ins. It was busy! The hostess offered us a quieter place to sit as the main restaurant was quite full with only 2 bar seats coming soon. We opted for the bar seats. The vibe was our style. Lively and friendly. Drink menu has a LARGE variety and the bartender was really fun, efficient, and made fabulous recommendations! Sat between two other couples who also ordered the short rib.. spent our whole meal in conversation. (All life/longterm locals)Do yourself a favor and order the Short rib with the Mac and cheese!! It was divine. Hot Chicken & beignets.. OMG.. The spicy/sweet combo would bring me back! It was so good.We will totally come back here!

A nice lounge/bar concept, but I guess come here with patience as there seems to be a common theme of slowness and understaff. At this time, there were only two employees(noticeable in the front): hostIng, taking orders, serving, making drinks, and cleaning during Sundays Brunch. Even though the restaurant is relatively small, it took 10-15 minutes before the waiter took our drink orders. Then another 15 minutes before taking our food orders. Food: The NY steak hash- for $27, we were expecting like 8-10 ounces of meat, but got maybe like 4 oz and that's me being nice. The meat was so tough and overcooked, and had to dig around the fried potatoes chips to find our steak. 2/5Smash burgers- definitely better than the steak hash, and would recommend it. Meat was juicy and flavorful, but egg, I was expecting yolk to gush out as I bite down however it was cooked all the way. 3.5/5Fried tomatoes- 5/5 highlight of the meal. Batter was perfectly seasoned and fried. Additionally the balsamic gives it that tangy complexity. (I withheld the goat cheese on the side.)
